Tool for trimming and chamfering pipe and shaft ends The known tools for trimming and chamfering pipe and shaft ends have a cylindrical tool head with a cylindrical or conical shaft for insertion into a chuck or a conical sleeve attached to the end of a work spindle. On this tool head, two or more radially directed knives are arranged in the same Winkelab stands from each other, the cutting edges are inclined accordingly to the required bevel angle to the axis of the tool head.
The knives of such a tool must be ground and adjusted very precisely so that they are evenly loaded and cut, otherwise chatter marks can arise in the chamfering surface. Particularly in the case of pipes that are exposed to high pressure, a high accuracy of the bevel surface is required, because only if this is flawless can the welding material be applied evenly when two beveled pipe ends are welded together. The precisely coordinated setting of two or more knives of such a tool presents considerable difficulties and takes a lot of time.
This disadvantage of the known tools of this type is largely eliminated by the invention.
The invention relates to a tool for trimming and chamfering pipe and shaft ends, with a cylindrical tool head which has a conical or cylindrical shaft for insertion into a conical sleeve or a chuck, which is characterized in that the cylindrical tool head has a axial, conical recess, the opening angle of which corresponds to the bevel angle, and in its front part a sector-like cutout which is delimited by an at least approximately radially directed surface parallel to its axis and a surface perpendicular to it,
and that a knife is clamped by means of at least one axially extending guide slot of the same penetrating head screw on the at least approximately radially directed surface of the cutout on which it is guided in the axial direction, the cutting edge of which is parallel to the edge between the conical recess and its The contact surface runs and projects only a little more than the chip thickness of the chip to be lifted from the pipe and shaft end to be beveled over this edge.
In the drawing, an example Ausfüh approximately form of the subject invention is shown. 1 shows a side view of a tool for trimming and chamfering pipe ends, partially in section, FIG. 2 shows a side view of this tool in the direction of arrow A in FIG. 1, and FIG. 3 shows a view of this tool from the beginning. The tool shown for trimming and chamfering pipe ends has a cylindrical tool head 1 which is provided with a Morse taper 1a for insertion into a conical sleeve, not shown, arranged at the end of a work spindle.
This tool head. 1. has an axial, conical recess 1b on the end face, the opening angle of which corresponds to the bevel angle, which leads into an axial, cylindrical bore 1c. The tool head 1 also has a sector-shaped cutout which is limited by a parallel to its axis, at least approximately radially directed surface 1d and a surface 1e which is perpendicular to the water and is located outside the cylindrical bore 1c and wel cher from the end face of the Tool head 1 extends to the level of the bottom of the cylindrical bore 1c.
On the at least approximately radially directed surface 1d, a knife 2 is clamped firmly by means of a head screw 3, for which a guide slot 2a extending in the axial direction is provided in the knife 2. The cutting edge 2b of the knife 2, which is appropriately undercut, runs parallel to the upper edge of the surface 1d and does not protrude beyond this, or only slightly more than the intended thickness of the chip to be lifted from the pipe end to be beveled.
The knife 2 has on its outer part on the side adjacent to the surface 1d on an axially extending guide bar 2c extending over its entire height, which is guided in a corresponding guide groove 1f in the surface 1d, so that the knife 2 in Areas of its guide slot 2a for the head screw 3 in the axial direction of the tool head, but only in this, can be moved. To move or adjust the knife 2 when the head screw 3 is loosened, an adjusting screw 4 which is screwed into a threaded hole in the tool head 1 and is parallel to its axis and acts on the lower edge surface of the knife 2 is used.
A cylindrical guide mandrel 5 protruding over the tool head 1, the diameter of which corresponds to the inner diameter of the pipe end to be chamfered, which has a central part 5a, which is conical in accordance with the conical recess 1b of the tool head 1, and a cylindrical part 5a adjoining this, into the axial bore 1c of the tool head 1 has matching part 5b is set in the conical recess 1b. The cylindrical part 5b of the guide mandrel 5 has a length such that, when its end rests on the bottom of the bore 1c, the conical surface of its conical part 5a is at a distance of 0.5-1.0 mm above the cutting edge 2b of the knife 2 lies.
This guide mandrel 5, 5a, 5b is held in its position by a head screw 6 with a hexagon socket head 6a, which leads through an axial through-hole in the guide mandrel 5 and its parts 5a and 5b and into a 1c provided in the tool head 1 at the bottom of the cylindrical drilling Threaded hole lg is screwed in.
To attach the knife 2, in particular with larger-sized tools, two or three head screws 3 can be vorgese hen instead of a single one. To stabilize the knife 2, if necessary, on its surface facing away from the surface 1d of the tool head 1, a rigid pressure plate extending over the entire contact surface of the knife 2 can be applied to which the head or heads of the head screw 3 or the Head screws 3 act or act.
For trimming and chamfering the end of a pipe res the one of the inner diameter of this pipe res corresponding diameter Füh approximately mandrel 5 is inserted into the pipe, whereby this receives a stable guide. When the tool is advanced against the firmly clamped pipe, the pipe end enters the conical recess 1b of the tool head 1 of the rotating tool and is first trimmed and then chamfered by its knife 2. In order to be able to deburr and bevel pipes of different diameters, the tool can be equipped with a set of mutually interchangeable guide mandrels 5 which have correspondingly different diameters.
Since the tool described has only a single knife 2 and this is guided by means of its guide bar 2c in the guide groove 1f of the surface 1d of the tool head 1, the setting of this knife 2 is not difficult and since the knife 2 is rigidly ge leads Not to worry about rat marks in the beveling surfaces of the pipe end. If the described tool is to be used for trimming and chamfering a shaft end, the cap screw 6, 6a and the guide mandrel 5, 5a, 5b are removed from a tool head 1.
