Automatic installation for thermally treating objects The present invention relates to an automatic installation for thermally treating objects, for example for quenching under protective gas and isothermal quenching, gas carburizing with or without quenching, carbonitriding, annealing or tempering. returned.
Numerous devices are known which make it possible to partially carry out these different treatments, but their design limits the quenching time to a minimum of about 10 seconds. In addition, when loading through a front door, gas consumption is excessive. Finally, their construction is very expensive.
The object of the present invention is to remedy the aforementioned drawbacks and to provide an installation which is characterized in that it comprises a loading table, an elevator intended to introduce said load through the lower part of an oven into at least one enclosure. heating and comprising a gas-tight bell which protects the objects of the load against oxidation and reduces the consumption of gas, the elevator returning the load to its starting position after treatment without quenching, and means for transferring the load under a sealed bell to be cooled by direct immersion in a bath of quench liquid and return it to the open air after it has completely cooled.
The appended drawing represents, schematically and by way of example, one embodiment of the installation which is the subject of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a side view, partially in section.
Figs. 2 and 3 are views from above, respectively from the front, of the installation shown in FIG. 1. The automatic installation for thermally treating objects comprises a loading table 1 and an elevator 2 which, in the low position 2 ', receives the load to be treated 3 from the table 1 by translation and which can be moved. raise to bring it to position 2 "in the enclosure 4 of an oven comprising a gas-tight bell 5 which protects the objects to be treated against oxidation and reduces gas consumption, in particular during operations loading (1 m3 / h)
. The opening through which the charge 3 is introduced into the oven is the only orifice communicating with the ambient air. The enclosure 4 is heated by resistors 6 and a turbine 7 ensures the circulation of the shielding gas and the regularity of the temperature.
An orifice 8 for the exit of the shielding gas allows the introduction of a bar (not shown) to transfer the load 3 from position 2 "to discharge position 9 (fig. 2).
Without quenching and after the desired heat treatment, the load 3 is lowered to the lower position 2 'to be taken up on the loading table 1.
With quenching and after the desired heat treatment, load 3 is transferred from position 2 "to discharge position 9, then quenched in at least 3 seconds. At this time, an intermediate door 11 opens and a swing arm 12 automatically comes opposite the unloading position 9, as soon as the worker responsible for taking care of the installation has introduced said transfer bar into the orifice 8. When the transfer bar is withdrawn, the arm 12 and The load 3 automatically descends to the quenching position 10. The intermediate door 11 closes again.
After a determined time, the load 3 rises in the unloading position 13, then in the drip position 14, a position which may include a washing tank for the treated objects.
A new cycle can start again.
When discharging, the gas protection is provided by a sealed bell 15 immersed in the quenching liquid contained in a cooling tank 16. The parts are lowered and returned by the arm 12.
The forced cooling of the load 3 is obtained from a pipe 17 which brings coolant under the load.
The various functions of the installation are controlled from a control panel 18 (fig. 3). The installation described can include several enclosures 4 for heat treating several loads 3 simultaneously.
