Fig. 1 zeigt einen entsprechenden Strang mit rundem Querschnitt;

Process for the production of molded parts
The invention relates to a method for the production of moldings using synthetic resins stabilized with glass fibers.
In the known methods, one or more glass fiber rovings are passed through a soaking bath and then through a differently shaped nozzle.
The amount of resin used is reduced accordingly.
In the so-called winding process, this strand is wound onto the core of a mold under a certain variable tensile stress or, during profile drawing, it is drawn through appropriately shaped tools which, when heated, lead to extensive polymerisation of the synthetic resin during the continuous drawing process. Although this profile drawing process has the advantage that the finished product is produced in a single operation, it has the disadvantage that the glass distribution over the cross section is irregular and the surface does not meet high demands. In addition, as has been found, the relative proportion of glass fibers cannot be increased to the most advantageous degree.
However, the glass fiber content essentially determines the strength and elasticity properties of the molded part.
An opinion of the ratio of glass to resin cannot be achieved with this process, because the tensile forces increase so strongly at high glass contents that neither smooth surfaces nor a uniform glass distribution inside the profile can be achieved.
The object of the present invention is to provide a generic method in which not only molded parts with a highly smooth and uniform surface can be produced, but also molded parts whose internal strength and elasticity are increased almost to the limit values given by the glass fiber content can.
This is achieved according to the invention in that the glass fiber rovings soaked in synthetic resin in the extrusion process are introduced into a mold before the synthetic resin is fully polymerized and shaped while increasing the proportion of glass fiber present relative to the synthetic resin.
It is also advantageous if the molding takes place within the recess of a base body to be reinforced with the glass fiber synthetic resin, for example made of wood.
Finally, it is advantageous if the synthetic resin-coated glass fiber rovings are placed in the mold in several layers, one on top of the other; wherein the longitudinal direction of the glass fiber strands of the one layer extends transversely to that of the layered thereover.
As a result of this solution, a method is specified which allows the production of highly stable and elastic molded parts with a high-quality surface. First of all, synthetic resin-soaked fiberglass strands are produced in an extrusion process. Before the synthetic resin is fully polymerized, these strands are placed in the appropriate shape. It has been found that these strands are already easy to handle in terms of process technology, so that the insertion of the strands into the mold does not cause any difficulties. These synthetic resin-soaked glass fiber rovings are then shaped by closing the mold. Here, an increase in the proportion of glass fiber present relative to the synthetic resin is made, in the simplest possible way, for. B. in that when the mold is closed, part of the not yet fully polymerized synthetic resin is pressed out of the interior of the mold.
When producing relatively long molded parts, the solution to this is to continuously close the mold cover from the center to the end in order to press the synthetic resin from the center to the ends of the mold and force it to exit there. Although individual synthetic resin-soaked fiberglass strands are inserted into the mold, surprisingly homogeneous molded parts result from the molding process, increasing the relative glass fiber content. The molded parts also have a very good surface, which no longer require any post-processing for almost any application. In particular, the modulus of elasticity of the molded part can be varied via the relative increase in the proportion of glass fiber, because essentially only the proportion of glass fiber exerts a practical influence on the strength of the molded part.
The molded part expediently remains in the mold until the synthetic resin has polymerized completely, in any case until almost completely. When several synthetic resin-coated fiberglass strands are layered on top of one another in a corresponding arrangement, molded parts with an extremely high dielectric strength can also be produced, for example for bullet-proof components. Duri the shaping of the fiberglass-synthetic resin strands within recesses of a base body, with which base body these strands simultaneously enter into an inseparable solid bond during the polymerisation of the resin, base bodies made of wood or the like, for example.
be reinforced to achieve high strength, especially breaking strength and to achieve high degrees of elasticity.
The subject matter of the invention is explained, for example, on the accompanying drawing.
To carry out the method according to the invention, synthetic resin-soaked glass fiber rovings are first produced in an extrusion process. Such synthetic resin-impregnated glass fiber strands are shown in FIGS. 1 and 2.
1 shows a corresponding strand with a round cross section;
Fig. 2 shows a corresponding strand with an oval cross-section.
The volume ratio of synthetic resin to glass fiber in these strands according to FIGS. 1 and 2 is still such that there is essentially a closed synthetic resin jacket of the glass fiber roving, even if the synthetic resin has not yet polymerized.
One or more strands according to FIG. 1 or 2 are now placed in a corresponding mold before the polymerisation of the synthetic resin. To produce strips according to FIG. 3 and FIG. 4, which is shown in a cross-section according to line IV-IV, three strands according to FIG. 2, for example, are inserted into a mold. In Fig. 4 this juxtaposition of the strands 1, 2 and 3 is shown symbolically. The mold is then closed. This takes place with an increase in the proportion of glass fiber present relative to the synthetic resin, namely by the fact that, starting from the center of the mold, the mold cover is closed continuously towards the front ends, whereby synthetic resin is pressed out at the front ends.
After the subsequent polymerisation of the synthetic resin, a completely homogeneous molded part according to FIG. 3 results, in which the strands 1, 2 and 3 symbolically shown in FIG. 4 have assumed a completely identical internal bond 2 to one another.
5 and FIG. 6, which shows a section along the line VI-VI, show a triangular shaped part made from three strands according to FIG. 1. For this purpose, three strands 4, 5, 6 according to FIG Form inserted. After the mold is closed in the same way, a completely homogeneous molded part is created again. iFig. 7 s, e represent a U-profile produced in a corresponding process. Several strands 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11 according to FIG. 1 or according to FIG. 1 and / or FIG. 2 are inserted into the mold , as shown symbolically in FIG. 8, which shows a cross section along line VIII-VIII of FIG.
9 and 10 show a molded part which is designed as a bow for shooting arrows. The molded part is in turn produced by inserting several strands according to FIG. 2 and / or FIG. 1 into a mold.
Fig. 9 shows a view of this bow in the tensioned position. 10 shows an enlarged illustration of the central, thickened arch section. In order to shape this thickened arch section, additional strands according to FIG. 1 and / or FIG. 2 are inserted into the mold in the region of this arch section; the strands 12, 13, 14, 15 and 16 then lie in the region of this zone, as can be seen from FIG. 11, which shows a cross section along the line XI-XI in FIG. 10; The strands 12, 13 and 14 expediently run through to the arch ends 18 and 19 (compare section XII-XII, Fig.
12). Only the strands 15 and 16 form a medium filling of the thickened arch section. Once again, after the resin has been shaped and polymerized out, the individual strands are uniformly homogeneous in cross section. In the case of the molded part shown in FIG. 13, which is designed as a bulletproof panel, the synthetic resin-coated glass fiber strands are placed in the mold in several layers 22, 23 and 24, one on top of the other. The molding takes place again in the aforementioned manner with a relative increase in the proportion of glass fiber present in relation to the synthetic resin. The longitudinal direction x of the glass fiber strands of the one layer 22 runs transversely to the longitudinal direction y of the glass fiber strands of the layer 23 and this in turn transversely to the longitudinal direction z of the glass fiber strands of the layer 24, etc.
14 to 24 show various molded parts in which the molding takes place within the recess of a base body made of wood to be reinforced with the glass fiber synthetic resin strand.
14 shows a ski pole in a longitudinal view.
15 shows a cross section for this.
The base body 25, designed as a ski pole, has the longitudinal groove-shaped depressions 26. The glass fiber strands 27, preformed according to FIG. 1 and / or FIG. 2, are inserted into these depressions 26. A uniform, homogeneous filling of the cross-section formed by the recess 26 is achieved by molding while pressing on a molded cover that closes the recess 26. At the same time, when the synthetic resin polymerizes, a bond is established between the wooden base body 25 and the fiberglass synthetic resin.
16 shows the similar method for reinforcing a base body used as a bow for shooting arrows. 17 shows a section along line XVII-XVII of FIG. 16. Again, the wooden base body 28 has groove-shaped depressions 29 in which glass fiber strands according to FIG. 1 and / or FIG. 2 are inserted and with a relative increase in the glass fiber portion be shaped.
Fig. 19 shows the reinforcement of a wooden board. The base body 30 has groove-shaped depressions 31 and 32, which are open towards the top and bottom, in which glass fiber strands 33 and 34 according to FIG. 1 and / or FIG. 2 are formed.
18 shows a perspective view of a triangular base body made of wood, in the form of a high jump plate with reinforcement provided on the side surfaces 35 by glass fiber strands formed in groove-shaped depressions 36 according to FIG. 1 and / or FIG. 2.
Fig. 20 shows a longitudinal view of a high jump plate. 21 shows a section along the line XX-XX of FIG. 20. In this embodiment of the high jump platform, the reinforcements are formed in groove-shaped recesses 37 on the corner to achieve a greater distance from the central longitudinal axis and the associated higher strength and more favorable elasticity properties. The mold jaws used accordingly are shown symbolically in FIG. After the molding and polymerisation, the lath shown in FIG. 22 is produced.
23 and 24 show a square wooden rod as the base body, which again has glass fiber strands according to FIG. 1 and / or FIG. 2 formed in groove-shaped recesses 38 open at the corners.
