Packaging for revolution object
The present invention relates to a packaging object of revolution.
The packaging which constitutes the object of the invention is characterized in that it comprises a tube of thin thermoplastic material, of polygonal section, open at its ends and internally having protrusions produced with it, so that the object to be maintained is maintained between these projections by the inherent elasticity of the tube and / or the projections and away from the inner walls of the tube.
The accompanying figures, made without a determined scale, represent partial embodiments of the object of the invention.
- Figs. 1,3,8 represent the perspective view of some embodiments with an approximately square section.
- Figs. 2, 4, 5 and 9 represent end views thereof.
- Fig. 6 shows a cross section of an embodiment of approximately square section with retaining folds and reinforcements.
- Fig. 7 shows a longitudinal section of an embodiment passing through the axis of the folds.
- Fig. 10 shows the perspective view of an embodiment with an approximately triangular section.
- Figs. 11 and 12 show end views thereof.
- Fig. 13 shows the end view of an embodiment with an approximately square section in which the object is held on the one hand by a pair of folds, on the other hand by a wide fold.
- Fig. 14 shows the end view of an embodiment of approximately square section with two pairs of retaining folds not comprising reinforcements at the ends of the faces. This packaging can more especially be produced by injection.
Examination of the figures shows the shapes and arrangements that the constituent parts of the packaging according to the invention can preferably take.
As shown in the figures, the bulb holder is advantageously symmetrical with respect to a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal faces and situated in the middle of the latter.
The packaging being made of thin thermoplastic material, the folds, bulges, reinforcements are made by a simple suitable shape of the walls; figs. 6 and 7 illustrate sections of such bulb holders.
The retaining folds must have a shape and an arrangement such that the object of revolution is held in place by friction by the cooperation of the various folds. Their arrangements and dimensions are not critical as long as the object is held in place. Generally, for ease of manufacture and suitable protection of the object, the folds are placed on the longitudinal faces, as shown in the drawings, nothing however prevents the folds from being made by a suitable shape. edges as shown for example in FIG. 12. Most often the retaining folds are either of the same type: wide or arranged in pairs for a type of bulb holder. However, it is obviously possible to combine these two types as shown in FIG. 13.
Among the polygonal sections that the packaging can take, the approximately square or triangular sections have appeared more interesting, so it is these which are represented in the figures.
Packages of approximately square section with retaining folds arranged in pairs on opposite sides such as those shown in FIGS. 1, 2, 3, 4, 14 are preferred. The packaging with an approximately square section with two substantially flat longitudinal faces each carrying a pair of retaining folds and of which the other two longitudinal faces are slightly re-entrant, such as that shown in FIGS. 3 and 4 constitute the preferred implementation.
Of course, the dimension of the packaging both longitudinally and transversely must be in relation to the dimensions in width and length of the cylindrical object to be protected.
As the cylindrical object to be protected, ampoules of pharmaceutical products are especially contemplated, whether of the bottle type or of two tips.
But it is obvious that the packaging according to the invention can be used for the packaging or protection of any fragile cylindrical object such as injection syringes, radio lamps or the like.
Naturally, the packaging can also be used for the packaging of less fragile or non-fragile objects, but it is quite obvious that this use is less advantageous than that envisaged for fragile objects.
The packaging according to the invention can be made of any thermoplastic plastic material suitable for the manufacturing technique used, such as cellulose esters, in particular acetate or acetobutyrate, polyvinyl esters: vinyl aceto-chloride, vinyl chloride, polyolefins. such as polyethylene, polypropylene, polyamides, polycarbonates, compositions such as impact polystyrene.
For reasons of cost price, it is advantageous to produce the packaging in as small a thickness as possible, thicknesses of between 0.1 and 1 mm and preferably of 0.15 to 0.5 mm, are generally suitable.
It can be produced by any conventional technique such as injection, extrusion blow molding, vacuum forming.
It has, over other existing types, the advantage of lightness, ease of handling, in particular for automatic packaging as well as excellent protection of the bulb especially against side impacts.
The following example describes without limiting one practice of the invention.
Example
The ampoule holder corresponding to drawings 1, 2 and 7 is designed for a 2 cm3 bottle ampoule (diameter 6 mm, length 60 mm).
Its length is 70 mm its overall section is 25X25 mm, sides 3 and 4 are slightly curved re-entrant, sides 5 and 6, flat, have two folds of 35 mm length at the base and 25 mm at the top.
The folds have a width of 3 mm at the base and a total height of 7 mm.
The reinforcements 7 and 8, the faces 1 and 2, are formed for grooves of 1 mm inside.
The assembly is made of high density polyethylene, pigmented in white and 0.15mu thick by the classic technique of extrusion-blow molding; it weighs 5 g.
