Lost casting model The invention relates to a. Lost, coated, gasifiable model made of foamed plastic for carrying out the full mold casting process using bonded molding materials.
Lost models made of foamed plastic, in particular styrene polymers, provided with a coating, are already through a full-mold casting process in which the lost model is pourable in loose, free-flowing form. Embedded in sand became known.
By cladding the models with these coatings, the unbound molding material is to be secured against the pressure effect of the inflowing melt and thus a flushing away of the dry molding sand, which forms the main part of the casting mold, and thus the
Formation of sand inclusions. be prevented in the casting.
If lost models are embedded in bound molding sand, there is no reason to treat the model in the manner described above, since the mold wall is adequately supported by the binding agent of the molding sand.
However, in order to prevent penetraion of the melt in the fortin fabric, this was done. passed over,
to cover the gasifiable foam models used in the full molding process with visual lightings known per se in foundry technology, which made it possible to
largely to avoid penetration and to obtain satisfactory surfaces on the parts of the casting lying below. This, however, resulted in considerable accumulations of missing steals on the upper surfaces of the casting,
which were preferably due to insufficiently gassed model material.
Extensive tests have shown that by applying the known compound materials used by bishex for this purpose as well as their combinations,
the gas permeability of the mold wall was greatly reduced and thus the gasification of the foam model was hindered so much that residues formed,
which resulted in serious defects in the casting. The object of the invention is therefore to eliminate these disadvantages and to create a lost casting model for executing the full mold @ casting process below use, bound molding sand, by:
which with sufficient gasification by the flowing melt, a quality-minimizing penetration of the same into the molding material and thus the formation of surface fenders on the casting is prevented.
According to the invention, this is achieved by a gasifiable model, the coating of which is designed as a penetration-hindering coating with a thickness of at least 0.5 mm, this having a gas permeability of more than 20 units in accordance with DIN 52 401.
The gas permeability is preferably 40-80 units according to DIN 52 401.
In a continuation of the invention, coatings which have a gas permeability of less than 10 units at room temperature and which contain organic substances as binders can also be used,
if the required gas permeability of the mold wall is established as soon as the organic substances are melted and / or gasified, which will happen essentially up to a temperature of 250 C.
By using the lost models carried out according to the invention, it is now possible to also use foam materials whose density is greater than or equal to 25 kp / m3.
Up to now it was generally necessary to keep the density of this foam below or in the order of magnitude of this limit in order to eliminate the formation of residues and thus the production of unusable castings as far as possible.
The table below shows the gas permeability of furan resin sand and a number of customary optical light materials that were applied to a test specimen made of furan resin sand in accordance with the above-mentioned regulation,
listed. The sizing thickness of the RTI ID = "0001.0242" WI = "29" HE = "4" LX = "1432" LY = "2560"> Schliehte material was approximately 0.5 mm in each case.
The comparison with the gas permeability of the primed furan resin body (210 DIN lightings) clearly shows that
To what extent the permeability of the molding material for Pyrolys @ egaise is reduced by the use of the usual coatings.

which were made with lost sohaumstoffmodetllen using the sizing material listed in the table above, resulted in strong accumulations of defects in the surface of the formed casting,
which were perfectly due to insufficient gasification of the foam material, which was caused by the insufficient gas permeability of the size used.
Comparative tests that were made with the lost models according to the invention led to satisfaction:
making casts. It showed here that coatings, in particular, the percentage composition of which in the area shows the structure structure indicated in the example below, resulted in good castings.
Example The claimed. Models are built from 'foamed plastic, in particular from polystyrene foam and own. a coating made of ice-free, gas-permeable material, consisting of zircon sand * and 5 ',
. \ The amount of zircon sand results from the difference to 100% by weight after adding the other components. up to 25% by weight asbestos, 3-10% by weight graphite, 5-20% by weight chamotte,
0.05-0.15% by weight of polystyrene foam; 0.5-3.0 wt. 1 / o binder, 1-5 wt. 1 / o wax.
The gas permeability of such coatings is between 40-80 units according to the above measurement.
Further details of the invention can be taken from the attached drawing and description of the drawing, in which the claimed, lost casting model is shown in a mold case.
The lost track model shown consists of a foamed Kunsfstoffkörper 1 and a Sahhichte @ Überzulg z.
When pouring the liquid melt into the molding box 3, in which the model is embedded in molding sand 4, the foam is gasified,
while the Schlilchte coating prevents penetration of the liquid melt into the mold stand. Due to the high gas permeability of the combination of Form-Aitoff-size, a perfect deduction is achieved during gasification <RTI
