Processes and proximity switches for switching electrical circuits through ferromagnetic bodies The technology knows processes and corresponding devices to trigger switching processes when machine or apparatus parts approach each other in that a magnetically influenceable switch comes into the range of action of a permanent or electro magnet and the switch is turned over.
Particularly suitable for this are contact arrangements which - placed in a magnetic field - form part of the magnetic path of the same and, when the strength of the magnetic field is sufficient, close their switching contacts. Such switches are known in the art as gas-shielded contacts or reed contacts. You need a fairly strong magnetic field for reliable switching, i.e. they only respond when the magnet is very close.
In order to be able to install both the magnet and the magnetically excitable contact in a fixed manner and to be able to design the moving part as desired, solutions are also known in which the contact is permanently in the effective area of the magnet, but the magnetic field is caused by the approach of a ferromagnetic table body is deflected from the contact and directed to another path with a lower magnetic resistance, whereby the contact is actuated. Such indirect influences on the contact require relatively large ferromagnetic parts in order to form a sufficiently strong magnetic shunt.
The present invention avoids this after part and relates to a method for switching current circuits through ferromagnetic bodies, which is characterized in that a magnetically controllable contact is arranged in the neutral zone of one of at least two permanent magnets, resulting Magnetfel of the, and that the ferromagnetic body is passed between one of the permanent magnets and the magnetically controllable contact, the resulting magnetic field is changed in such a way that its neutral zone is removed from the magnetically controllable contact, and this comes into the now predominant area of action of at least one other magnet and is operated .
The invention relates to a proximity switch for carrying out the method, which is characterized by at least two permanent magnets and a magnetically controllable contact fastened between them, which are enclosed by a housing body made of diama gnetic material such that between one of the permanent magnets mentioned and the magnetically controllable contact is spared a slot for passing a ferromagnetic body through.
An exemplary embodiment is explained schematically on the basis of the description and the figures. 1 shows a known arrangement of a proximity switch, FIG. 2 shows the basic arrangement of magnets and switches according to the invention, FIGS. 3 and 4 show the arrangement according to FIG.
In known proximity switches according to FIG. 1, the contact arrangement 130 with contact tongues 131, 132 between two permanent magnets 110, 120 is in such a position that it is in a magnetically neutral zone where the magnetic fluxes of the two permanent magnets cancel each other out, so that none Attraction between the two tongues 131, 132 occurs.
If a ferromagnetic body 140 is now brought into the area of the proximity switch, the magnetically neutral zone between the permanent magnets 110, 120 is moved out of the area of the contact arrangement 130; the tongues 131, 132 are now in the area of a magnetic field, attract one another and are able to close a circuit between the connections 134, 135. In order to achieve a sufficient displacement of the magnetically neutral zone, but - in relation to the dimensions of the contact arrangement 130 - large ferromagnetic bodies 140 are necessary to achieve this effect on the course of the magnetic fields.
In the device according to the invention, however, in an essentially similar arrangement according to FIG. 2, a contact element 230 with contact springs 231, 232 and permanent magnets 210, 220 makes the ferromagnetic body 240 when it approaches 230 is intended to respond, moves past in a passage 241 provided between the contact element 230 and one of the two permanent magnets, for example that of 220. This achieves
that the disturbance of the magnetic field and thus the diversion of the resulting magnetic flux is considerably more intense than in the arrangement according to FIG. 1. This means, however, that - assuming the same permanent magnets - significantly smaller ferromagnetic bodies 240 are able to trigger switching processes, than is the case when the approaching bodies move past the permanent magnets 210, 220 on the outside.
Asymmetries in the arrangement or in the behavior of the permanent magnets 210, 220 on the one hand and of the contact element 230 on the other hand make it possible to adjust the arrangement to appear useful. For this purpose, according to the invention, in the area of one of the magnetic fields - preferably in which it is not influenced by the ferromagnetic body - at least one threaded bolt 250 made of ferromagnetic material is provided, which is screwed into a threaded tube 260 made of magnetically non-conductive material and can be displaced by turning along the threaded tube .
If the threaded bolt or bolts 250 is in the center of the threaded tube 260, part of the magnetic flux of the permanent magnet 210 is kept from the contact arrangement 230. If, on the other hand, the threaded bolt or bolts 250 are at one end of the threaded pipe 260, the magnetic flux of the permanent magnet 210 is amplified by the contact arrangement 230. By moving the threaded bolt 250 in the threaded tube 260, a displacement of the magnetically neutral zone in both directions and thus an adjustment is possible.
It is also possible to increase the sensitivity of the proximity switch by magnetically biasing the contact arrangement 230 through the adjustment to just before the switching point.
