Description
Machine tool with gas cushion bearing The present invention relates to a machine tool with two concentric organs which are rotatably and axially movably mounted, characterized in that these organs are supported for rotary and axial movement by an annular gas cushion bearing between the organs.
One of these organs, for example a shaft, can be mounted in a stationary sleeve or in a stationary housing and be subjected to a rotary and axial reciprocation movement with respect to the sleeve or to the housing. Furthermore, the sleeve or housing could be movable with respect to a stationary shaft or a centering pin. One of these organs, such as B. a sleeve or a Ge housing perform an axial movement, while the other organ, z. B. a shaft or a centering pin, executes a rotary movement.
The axial and rotary movement between various NEN parts is a prerequisite for the operation of many machine tools, such as. B. NEN for grinding machines, where the reciprocating motion and the Drehbe movement of the hollow grinding shaft is desirable.
The subject of the invention is shown in the accompanying drawing, for example, in which the single figure shows a vertical section through the center of a machine, by means of which a workpiece to be measured or a measuring pin rotated through the use of the gas cushion bearing described here and exactly in the axial direction can be rotated.
This machine consists essentially of a horizontal Werkstüakauflagtisch 1 with a suitable th leveling gear, which is attached to the upper end 2 of a vertical shaft 3, which is mounted in a cylindrical sleeve 4 on an air cushion. The vertical shaft 3 can be raised or lowered or held in any desired axial setting by means of a mechanically-hydraulically or air-pressure operated plunger 5 attached to the lower shaft end.
In the arrangement shown, the ram can be moved up and down by means of a rack and pinion gear (not shown here), the pinion of this gear being driven by an electric motor (not shown here). A spring 22 on a spool 23 bil det a counterweight to shaft 3 and plunger 5. The upper end of the plunger carries a toothed ring 6, which is driven with the drive gear 7 of a gear drive 8 driven by an electric motor 9's. The gear ring 6 drives the shaft 3 by means of a bolt 25 and a fork coupling 26.
The sleeve 4 is surrounded by a housing 10 and is provided with two axially separated pairs of radial air passages 11 at each end. In each of these passages a gemstone 12 is embedded at its radially inner end, which has a central nozzle opening with a diameter of 0.025 to 0.10 mm.
The radially outer ends of the passages open into a cylindrical space 13 which is connected to a compressed air delivery pipe 14.
The game between shaft 3 and sleeve 4 in the vicinity of the radial passages is of the normal order of magnitude for gas cushion bearings, this game being extended by an annular recess 15 in the sleeve in the middle between the two inner bearings 12. The space 13 is closed off at each end by flexible sealing washers 16, the lower of which is held in place by an annular sealing cap 17.
The lower end of the shaft 3 is rotatably separated from a pressure plate 18, which is assigned to the head of the plunger 5 by means of a further gas cushion bearing, which is a pressure bearing between the two organs. The gas cushion storage space between the shaft 3 and the pressure plate 18 is fed through a zen tral channel 19 in a ball bearing 20 compressed air, the channel 19 at the end having a gemstone 21 with a nozzle opening.
