EMI0003.0062
Ähnlich gute Resultate werden mit folgenden Farb stoffen erhalten: C. I. ;solubilized sulfur blue 10 C. I. solubilized sulfur green 19 C. I. solubilized sulfur brown 12 C.
Process for dyeing or printing textile materials with sulfur dyes Swiss Patent No. 388 257 discloses a process for improving the fastness properties of dyeings and prints with sulfur dyes, which is characterized in that the dyed or printed textiles are in the reduced state , that is, before the oxidation, with polyfunctional substances which deliver stable reaction products with the dyes, d. H.
impregnated with polyepoxy compounds or their immediate precursors, the corresponding poly-a, ss halohydrins, together with an amount of alkali at least equivalent to their halogen content, and then finished.
In the Dutch Auslegeschrift No. 6 413 327, a process for dyeing cellulose textile materials with water-soluble thiosulfuric acid esters of sulfur dyes is described, which is characterized in that the materials to be dyed are impregnated with solutions other than those in water soluble thiosulfuric acid esters of sulfur dyes or salts thereof still contain bisfunctional or polyfunctional compounds,
which can form stable reaction products with the sulfur dyes and, without adding reducing agents, dampen the impregnated product to fix it or subject it to a dry heat treatment. As bis- or polyfunctional compounds forming stable reaction products with the sulfur dyes, di- or polyepoxides are also mentioned in this interpretation.
It has now been found that significantly more authentic dyeings and prints are obtained not only on cellulose textile materials, but also on textile materials of all types, if the dyes are fixed with polyepoxy compounds, e.g. B. Bisepoxydverbindungen, or their precursors in the presence of thiourea substances or thiourea-forming compounds before takes.
Textile materials that can be dyed or printed according to the present process include, for example, fibers made from natural and regenerated cellulose, wool, super polyamide or super polyurethane fibers and fibers made from hydrophobic materials such as glass fibers, polypropylene fibers, polyvinyl chloride fibers, linear polyester fibers, Acrylonitrile fibers, cellulose ester fibers,
such as cellulose triacetate or acetyl cellulose (21/2 acetate), and their mixtures mentioned. The textile material can be in the form of loose fibers, threads, flocks, but preferably of woven or knitted fabrics.
Particularly suitable polyepoxides are water-soluble polyepoxides. Examples of suitable polyepoxides are: diglycidyl ether
EMI0001.0064
Diglycidyl formal
EMI0001.0066
and especially water-soluble heterocyclic polyepoxides such as triglycidyl cyanurate and the compounds of the formula
EMI0002.0001
wherein X contains an epoxy group or can be converted into epoxy groups
Substituents and Y a group -CH-CHYO-X, a CH #., = CH group or
EMI0002.0008
mean a substituent which can be converted into such groups.
As substituents which can be converted into epoxy groups, those are mentioned, the halohydrin groups or the groups
EMI0002.0015
contain.
Particularly suitable thioureas are the compounds of the formula
EMI0002.0017
to be mentioned in which n is an integer positive number, R is an alkyl or acyl radical or a hydrogen atom, R1 and R2 are each an alkyl, aralkyl or aryl radical, but in particular each is a hydrogen atom, or together are an aliphatic chain, which with the -N-CS-N bridge forms a heterocyclic ring. As such connec tions come z.
B. the following into consideration: N-acetyl- or N-benzoylthiourea, N-methyl- or N-ethylthiourea, N-benzyl- or N-phenylthiourea, N, N'-dimethyl- or N, N'-diisopropylthiourea, tetramethylthiourea, Thiohydantoin, thiobarbituric acid,
Ethylene thiourea and in particular the unsubstituted thiourea itself as well as the ammonium rhodamine, which turns into ihiourea when heated.
The water-soluble sulfur dyes are suitable as dyes in the present process. They are listed in the Color Index under the designation, <C.I. solubilized sulfur dyes.
Most of them are sulfur dyes that have been made water-soluble by esterification, and they contain the thiosulfuric acid ester group -S-SO "X, where X is a hydrogen atom or an alkali metal cation which is attached to an aromatic nucleus through the divalent sulfur atom Dye molecule is bound.
According to the simplest embodiment of the present process, the textile materials to be dyed are impregnated with a solution or printed with a printing paste that contains the dye, thiourea and the polyfunctional epoxy compound at the same time, and the so impregnated or printed goods are used to fix the dyes Subject to heat treatment or stored wet for a long time. The fixation can be done by steaming for a long time.
However, it is expedient to fix the dyes in a customary manner by dry heating at temperatures between 100 and 300 ° C., preferably between 160 and 240 ° C., provided that the goods to be dyed and / or printed require these temperatures he permits. The duration of the fixing process can vary within wide limits, as it depends on the nature of the dyes used, the uncolored polyfunctional compounds and the fixing temperature; however, it can easily be determined by experiments. It is advantageous to fix the dyestuffs on textile well from cellulose by dry heating at 100 to 200 ° C. In this temperature range, the fixation is generally complete within about 1 to 5 minutes.
According to another embodiment of the process, the goods to be dyed or printed can first be padded with a dye solution or printed with a printing paste that contains a water-soluble sulfur dye and a thiourea compound, the printed or
After possible drying, impregnated goods are padded with an aqueous solution containing a compound which has 2 to 3 epoxy groups or 2 to 3 substituents which can be converted into epoxy groups and, after possible drying, subject to heat or wet storage.
The method according to the invention can thus be carried out in one or two baths, d. H. by padding on the dye solution, thiourea and at the same time the polyfunctional compound and storing or heating the padded goods for fixation, or by using a dye solution containing thiourea and then with a polyepoxy compound of the type identified above to dye and / or print the goods treated sequentially and in the order given.
The amount of polyepoxy and thiourea compounds to be used can be varied within wide limits. In general, even with solutions containing 5 to 50 g, advantageously 20 to 30 g, polyepoxide per liter, interesting effects. With higher amounts, e.g. B. with solutions that contain 100 = 200 g / 1 poly-epoxies, stiffening effects are achieved. The thiourea / polyepoxy compound ratio can also be varied within wide limits, without any fundamental differences in the effects achieved.
With 20 to 80% thiourea (based on the amount of polyepoxide used), the desired effect has always been achieved. It is advisable to use about twice as much ammonium rhodanide to achieve the same effect as with thiourea.
The solutions to be padded can contain various additives in addition to the mentioned thioureas and polyepoxides, such as. B. migration-preventing compounds (salts, alginates), solubility-promoting agents (soda, alkaline solutions) or wetting agents such as polyethylene oxide condensation products.
The fixation takes place as indicated by wet storage for a long time, e.g. B. 2 to 48 hours, by steaming or by dry heating (thermal fixation).
The fixation by steaming takes place on the Mather-Platt, on the continuous steaming system at about 103 to 105 C or in the star damper at about 100 to 105 C.
The heat setting can take place, for example, on the clamping frame and is carried out at about 160 to 240 ° C.
According to the present process, water-soluble sulfur dyes can also be properly fixed on hydrophobic fibers (glass fibers, polypropylene fibers) for which they have no affinity.
The dyeings and prints obtained in this way show excellent wet fastness properties. In addition to the advantage that hydrophobic fiber materials can also be genuinely dyed using the present process, the process has the further advantage that after the fixation has taken place, no washing is usually necessary, since the fixation is almost quantitative and there are no auxiliaries such as Soda and the like, must be used.
The parts and percentages given in the following example are weight units. The temperatures are given in degrees Celsius.
Example 30 parts of the dye C.I. solubilized sulfur yellow 5 are dissolved in 935 parts of water. After adding 25 parts of the compound of the formula
EMI0003.0062
and 10 parts of thiourea, a polyester fabric known under the trade name Dacron-Spun Type 54 is impregnated in this solution, squeezed to a weight gain of 60 seconds, dried for 60 seconds at 180 and then cured for 60 seconds at 200. The result is a washfast yellow coloration.
If the thiourea is omitted and the rest of the procedure is as described above, a cloudy, washable color is obtained.
Similar good results are also obtained according to the above information on a glass fiber fabric, on a polypropylene fabric, on a poly (hexamethylene adipic acid) amide fabric and on mercerized cotton satin.
Similar good results are obtained with the following dyes: C. I.; solubilized sulfur blue 10 C. I. solubilized sulfur green 19 C. I. solubilized sulfur brown 12 C.
I. solubilized sulfur black 1 If the triepoxy compound in the above example is replaced by equal amounts of triglycidyl cyanurate, diglycidyl formal or diglycidyl ether and the rest of the procedure as described, similar good results are obtained.
