Description

  Lightweight packaging for transporting items
The problem of packaging becomes more and more acute as it becomes general and applies to new objects or which, previously, were not packed.

To be effective, modern packaging must meet a certain number of sometimes contradictory criteria: strength and lightness, efficiency and low price, hardiness and appeal, etc. In addition, it must add to its own packaging qualities those of being an advertising medium and a sales promotion element. Often, it must show its contents without being fragile.

In the particular case of clothes, these are most of the time packed in a cardboard box when they are handed over to the buyer.

These boxes have been simplified as much as possible to reduce the cost price, but they remain, despite everything. relatively expensive and are bulky for storage.

Sometimes their use is not justified, compared to the price of an item such as a lady's blouse.

However, these relatively inexpensive items spoil as much as more expensive ones, such as a men's suit.

For these reasons, traders are looking for cheaper packaging and are offered paper bags of suitable size, strength and presentation for this purpose.

However, these bags did not have the success that their price suggested because the clothes are very poorly presented and take on the appearance of a bulk commodity (because they sag in the bottom of the bag), which goes to the 'against the merchant's interest, which is to maximize the value of the item sold.

The present invention proposes to reconcile these contradictory desiderata, of low cost price, of solidity and of excellent presentation.

To this end, the invention relates to a light packaging for the transport of articles, characterized in that it comprises, on the one hand, a solid support intended to cooperate with one or more of the objects to be packed and, d 'on the other hand, an envelope containing both the support and the objects, the support and the envelope each having a handle that both grasp at the same time.

The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, various embodiments of the packaging which is the subject of the invention.

Fig. 1 is a schematic view of a support applied to the packaging of bottles.

Fig. 2 is a sectional view of a complete packaging for bottles comprising the support of FIG. 1 and a paper bag.

Fig. 3 is a cutaway perspective view of another embodiment providing a special removable hanger.

Fig. 4 is a cross-sectional view showing closed, the bag of FIG. 3 with its special hanger in place.

Fig. 5 is a schematic view of a hanger suitable for a bag of length less than that of the garment to be worn.

Referring to fig. 1 and 2 of the drawing, it can be seen that the packaging comprises a support 1, for example of strong cardboard or of synthetic material, this support having a horizontal portion pierced with three holes 1b in each of which the neck of a bottle A. The blocking is done under the carnette B of the bottle.

The portion la is integral with vertical partitions lc avoiding impacts of the bottles between them.

Finally, two flaps id are located above the portion 1a and are traversed by openings thus constituting a gripping handle.

It is certain that if the packaging were limited to the sole support 1, it would be clearly insufficient and completely unsightly.

This is why it must be placed, with the bottles, in a paper bag 2 which constitutes a protective envelope. contributing somewhat to the solidity of the whole (avoiding the swaying of the bottles A, for example) but whose essential function is to give the finished aesthetic appearance of the complete packaging.

The bag 2 is here of the well known type, comprising cardboard reinforcements 2a, openings 2b and tabs 2c.

The handle ld-le of the support 1 cooperates with the handle 2a-2b of the bag 2 because the openings i e and 2b are placed opposite and are all crossed by the tabs 2c. By grabbing the packaging. both support 1 and bag 2 are carried, but the force due to the weight of bottles A only applies to support 1.

The bag 2 can then be much lighter and less resistant than would have been necessary without the support 1.

Large openings can even be provided in the bag 2 allowing the buyer to see the exact contents of the bag (the bottles A themselves or their labels).

It is thus possible to conceive of the printing of a text or of a very attractive decoration of the bag 2 which ensures an advertising effect on the public seeing the bag worn by a buyer.

Naturally, the packaging can be used for objects other than bottles: tins. cans of paint, and more generally any heavy object.

In each case, the support is adapted to the objects considered. It can be made of any suitable material: wood. cardboard, wire, synthetic materials. What is essential is that it comprises a grip handle which can be grasped at the same time as the handle of the envelope.

The envelope. also, can be any as long as it has a handle, which can itself be any. The envelope can be a paper, synthetic or fabric bag. It can be opaque or transparent, continuous or through openings.

Referring now to Figs. 3 and 4, it can be seen that the bag 2 is provided with reinforcements 2a of the standard type.

With this embodiment, the bag 2 is associated with a special independent hanger 10, of the type described in the patent application filed today by the applicant for Clothes hanger.

This hanger 10 has the particularity of having not the traditional suspension hook, but a gripping handle 12, the length of which is provided for a human hand. In addition, its height is such that it is placed between the fold line 2e and the upper edge of the window 2b.

Thus, when closing the bag, the tab 2c passes under the handle 12 before engaging in the window 2b and locking there. Here again, the carrying force is made on the hanger 10 (under the handle 12) and not on the bag 2.

This achievement has two specific advantages:
First, putting on the clothing is very easy. out of the bag, as on an ordinary hanger, and the introduction into the bag 2 is easy, without the risk of creases.

Then, the hanger can be used several times, in a wardrobe after use of the bag 2 for transport. For this, the handle 12 has a notch 13, the dimensions of which correspond substantially to the diameter of a usual rod.

As with the previous embodiment, the bag 2 can be less solid and less expensive.

In addition, and for this reason, we can pack more
several clothes on several hangers in the same bag 2, provided that its dimensions (but not its strength) allow it.

In order to be able to be carried at arm's length, the clothing (jacket, pants, coat, raincoat, etc.) must generally be folded. In this case, to facilitate the introduction into the bag 2, it is possible to adopt a hanger such as that shown in FIG. 5.

This hanger has an extension 14 to have a height somewhat less than that of the bag 2.

Thanks to these arrangements, the garment is folded neatly along the lower edge 15 of the extension 14 and the latter ensures perfect guidance of the correctly folded garment in the bag 2.

The extension 14 may result, as shown, from cutting from a blank. or consist of side rods joined by a transverse bar, this obtained in any desired material.
