Fig. 5-7 zeigen Querschnitte durch wei- tere Verbundkörper.
Composite body made of metal sheets and an intermediate plastic layer The invention relates to a composite body made of two metal sheets and an interposed plastic layer bonded to them. Composite panels made of flat aluminum sheets and an intermediate layer of polyethylene are known. These composite panels can be deformed to a certain extent, but the deformability of the composite is limited.
The composite body according to the invention is characterized in that at least one of the metal sheets is profiled? 1 and the plastic completely fills the entire space between the two sheets. Due to the shape of the profiling of the sheets, which can be corrugated, folded, bent, embossed or deformed by other methods, the most varied shapes of the composite bodies are possible, symmetrical or asymmetrical in relation to the center plane of the plastic. The plastic layer does not have to have the same thickness everywhere, as is the case with flat composite panels and shapes made from them.
The profiling of one or both metal sheets also increases the rigidity of the composite bodies compared to flat composite panels.
Various metals can be used as the material for the sheets. Aluminum and its alloys are particularly suitable. Aluminum is preferably used in thicknesses of 0.2-1 mm. In this thickness it can be easily deformed. The surface of the metal sheets can be treated and refined in a known manner in order to produce the desired appearance of the composite body.
The thermoplastics, preferably polyethylene and polypropylene, come into consideration as plastics, which can be pressed in the thermoplastic state with the profiled sheets and thereby fill the entire space between the metal sheets. However, it can also be a curable plastic that is in a thermoplastic state and is only fully cured after the composite body has been produced. For example, the allyl esters are more polybasic
Acids such as B. diallyl phthalate, through incomplete polymerization in a solvent, a prepolymer which, when mixed with monomers such as diallyl phthalate, styrene and others, results in a thermoplastic mass that hardens when exposed to heat.
The diameter of the plastic layer is preferably 1-8 mm. The layer can be strengthened by previously introduced inserts such as wire inserts, fiberglass fabric, etc., ver.
In order to achieve the necessary adhesion between plastic and metal, adhesive layers can be arranged on the metal and / or adhesive intermediate layers in a known manner.
The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to the drawings. FIGS. 1-4 show perspective representations of different profiled composite bodies. 5-7 show cross sections through further composite bodies.
In Fig. 1-4 plate-shaped composite bodies are shown, consisting of the two metal sheets 1 and 2 and the plastic intermediate layer 3. In FIGS. 1 and 2, the profiles in the form of waves or beads in the two sheets run parallel to one another, while in Fig. 4 are perpendicular to each other, but can also form any other angle with each other. In Fig. 3 only one metal sheet 1 is profiled, while the other is flat. In the composite panel according to FIG. 2, the waves in the two metal sheets can also be arranged offset to one another.
In addition to the plate-shaped elements, the composite bodies can also form carriers of the most varied of cross-sectional shapes. In Fig. 5 and 6 cross sections are shown through such composite beams. The metal sheets are in the form of longitudinally profiled metal strips.
In FIG. 5, the metal sheets consist of folded edges 4 and 5, which as such are directly pressed together with the plastic intermediate layer 3. This creates an angle bracket made of composite material.
6 shows a T-beam which is produced by pressing the appropriately folded and symmetrically opposed strips 6 and 7 with a plastic layer 3.
Correspondingly, profile bars or supports with other cross-sectional shapes can also be constructed from two metal strips profiled in the longitudinal direction, which determine the cross-sectional shape, and an intermediate plastic layer. The narrow sides of the carrier, which are not covered by the metal strips and on which the plastic is exposed, can be covered by meballic cover strips 8.
As a result of the use of plastics, the composite bodies described are advantageous in terms of weight and price compared to bodies made entirely of metal. However, they can definitely compete with these in terms of strength if they are designed in such a way that the metallic outer layer of the composite body takes on the mechanical loads that occur.
The composite bodies according to the invention can advantageously be used in vehicle, ship and aircraft construction, where the plate-like composite bodies can be used for walls, ceilings and floors and the composite girders can be used as elements of the skeleton structure. In a similar way, the composite panels and composite beams in the interior of Ge buildings, z. B. for partition walls, use. Other areas of application are housings for electrical and other apparatus and container construction.
An example from container construction is shown in FIG. 7. The composite body consists of two circularly bent sheets or strips 9 and 10 with the plastic layer 3 in between. The composite bodies, which form a semicircle or a quarter circle in cross section, are closed at their longitudinal edges Hollow body welded, as pipe stucco or
Container body can be used. In order to enable welding, the plastic layer 3 is set back at the longitudinal edges and a metal rod 11 connecting the two composite bodies is inserted there.
The fixed connection. takes place through two weld seams 12.
