Device for locking a rotating operating member, in particular a door handle The present invention relates to a locking device for a rotating operating member.
This device, intended in particular for locking a door handle, can also be used to lock other operating members; such as levers controlling valves, electrical switches, or other interlocking device.
The device which is the subject of the invention is characterized in that it comprises a plate having at least one keeper, an intermediate plate superimposed on this plate and having at least one elastic tab capable of penetrating this keeper, and a control member. control superimposed on this plate and having a bearing stop capable of cooperating with said tab with a view to pushing it into the keeper,
the plate and the intermediate plate rotating with respect to each other during the actuation of the actuator and the control member being capable of being brought, as a result of a rotation with respect to to the intermediate plate,
from a relative position in which the intermediate plate can rotate relative to the plate to a locking position in which the bearing stop of the control member pushes the elastic tab of the intermediate plate into the keeper of the plate for coupling these two members and locking the operating member.
The drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the device which is the subject of the invention: FIG. 1 is an axial section of this form of execution included in the actuation mechanism of the key bit door of a door lock.
Figs. 2 and 3 are plan views, on a smaller scale, of two parts of this mechanism.
Figs. 4a and 4b are explanatory diagrams showing two different relative positions of the elements of the mechanism. The locking device shown in the drawing is intended for locking a bit pin 1, of square section, intended for actuating the bit of a door lock indicated at 2.
This pin 1: is capable of being actuated by two handles 3 and 4, partially shown, placed on either side of the leaf 5 of the door.
The outer handle 3 is made integral with the pin 1 by a pin 6. The pin is slidably mounted in the key bit, not shown, and the handle 3 is retained by a rosette 7 fixed by screws 9 to the frame 8 of the lock. The rosette 7 cooperates with an elastic washer 10 engaged in a groove of the handle 3.
On the inside of the door, a plate 11, made of thin sheet metal, is fixed to a sole 12 by means of two screws 13 screwed into the frame 8. The screws 13 com carry conical heads embedded in recessed parts of the door. the plate, themselves housed in conical hollows in the sole.
The plate 11, shown in plan in FIG. 2, is circular in shape and comprises a keeper 14 formed by a radial slot. A second slot 15, the function of which is described below, is also cut in the plate.
An intermediate plate 16 is superimposed on the plate 11. This plate 16, thin and which is made of spring steel, is shown in plan in FIG. 3. It com carries a central part 16a, circular in shape, pierced with a square hole 16b in which the end of the pin 1 is engaged. The hole 16b is formed by cutting cross slits page and folding the corners delimited between these slits.
Two tabs 17 and 18 of the plate 16, in the form of crown segments and which are attached by one end to the central part of the plate, have at their free ends noses 19 and 20 formed by an end part bent back. board direction 12.
These noses are not visible in fig. 1, but are shown in fig. 4a and 4b which are schematic developments in two different relative angular positions of the intermediate plate 16, of the plate 11, and of a control organ 28 described below.
The plate 16 has for example an outer diameter of 39 mm and a thickness of 0.8 mm. The height h of the noses, greatly enlarged in fig. 4a and 4b, is for example 1.8 mm.
The legs 17 and 18, connected by a flat part 22, are slightly raised so that the ends of the noses 19 and 20 lie in the plane of the underside of the plate. The nose 19 is folded back to 900 while the nose 20 is only folded back to about 450.
A sector 23 of the plate is separated from the tabs 17 and 18 by slots 24 and 25. This sector ends at its two ends with tabs 26 and 27 folded upwards (FIG. 4a).
A control member constituted by a bell-shaped cover 28 covers the plate 11 and the intermediate plate 16. This cover 28 is retained axially by an elastic ring 29 engaged under the edge of the plate 11 and in a groove of the skirt. of the cover. The circular cover 28 has at its center a bore 32 in which is engaged the inner handle 4, made integral with the cover by a pin 21. The cover 28 has on its bottom two stamped bosses 33 and 34 forming diametrically protrusions. opposites inside the cover.
In a first relative angular position, of rest, shown in FIG. 4a, the two handles 3 and 4 are horizontal and the bosses 33 and 34 of the cover 28 secured to the inner handle 4 are opposite the lower part 22 and the slot 24 of the plate 16 secured to the outer handle 3.
Lowering the outer handle 3, to activate the lock, causes the plate 16 to move in the direction of arrow A (fig. 4a) and the inner handle 4, free to lower, performs the same movement. as a result of the action of the nose 20 of the plate 16 on the boss 33 of the cover 28.
Likewise, the lowering of the inner handle 4 causes the displacement of the plate 16 and of the pin 1, via the boss 33 abutting against the nose 26 (FIG. 4a).
In a second relative angular locking position, shown in FIG. 4b, the internal handle 4 has been straightened vertically. This angular movement of 901 of the cover 28 has the effect of causing the boss 34 to push the nose 19 of the intermediate plate 16 into the keeper 14 of the plate 11, thus mobilizing the pin 1.
It is noted that the relative retraction of the cover is limited to a rotation of 900 by the fact that the boss 34 abuts against the nose 27.
During this retreat, the boss 33 pushes the nose 20 back into the release slot 15. This slot is located opposite the nose 19 only in the rest position, so that the locking position obtained by straightening the inner handle 4, can only be engaged when the outer handle 3 is in a horizontal position. It is noted that the elastic blade 17 offers good resistance, so that the rest position is clearly marked and that the engagement of the locking position requires an appreciable effort.
If necessary, the end of the pin 1 can be released from the opening 16b of the intermediate plate 16, to allow the lock to be actuated from the outside while the inside handle 4 is in position. locking. It suffices to unscrew the easily accessible screws 9 to the length necessary to disengage the spindle.
In a variant, the internal handle 4 can be mounted on the spindle 1, the cover 28 constituting the control member of the locking device and which is thus independent of the handle, then comprising a knurled crown or a lever allowing its actuation.
