Description
Attachment of the suction device to a vacuum cleaner housing The invention relates to the attachment of a connection piece of the suction device to the suction opening of a vacuum cleaner housing such that the connection piece can be freely rotated around the center line of the suction opening. Until now, fastenings of this type have either been made with a number of parts that fit exactly into one another, which has made the cost price high, or one has been content with a certain air leakage, which of course has an unfavorable effect on the functionality of the device, or one has to There was no rotation, which made the device more difficult to handle and increased wear and tear, especially of the hoses.
The invention aims to provide a simple solution to this problem, in which only low requirements are made of the accuracy and thus a nied riger cost price can be achieved, while still a good seal and free rotation can be obtained.
According to the invention, this is achieved in that the connection piece is provided with an edge which sits on a fitting surface arranged around the suction opening, while a flexible ring part is provided which surrounds the connection piece and is provided with a flange edge which counteracts around the suction opening the wall rests on the inside of the housing and its spring force presses the edge onto the surface.
This means that assembly is simple because the connection piece can simply be inserted into the ring.
The invention is explained in more detail with reference to the drawing, which is a cross section of a preferred embodiment.
The only partially shown housing of the vacuum cleaner has a wall 1 in which a connection opening 2 of the dust device is provided. A fitting surface 3 is located around this opening. The connecting piece 4 of the suction device, which can consist of a pipe or hose and a suction mouth (not shown), has a cylindrical part 5 that does not need to fit exactly into the opening 2, and an edge 6 that fits on the surface 3 is provided. On the inside of the wall a flexible ring part 7 is provided, e.g. made of rubber or a flexible plastic. This ring is provided with a flange 8 which rests against the wall 1. In the ring part 7 is a ring 9 is arranged which is preferably made of a polyamide.
This ring has a protruding flange 10 which fits into a recess 11 of the ring part and is fixed there by in the axial direction. This ring is also provided with a re-entrant flange 12 that fits into a groove 13 of the connecting piece 4. Finally, the ring 9 is provided with a radial saw cut (not shown). The lower edge of the connection piece 4 is provided with a rounding 14 and the top of the flange 12 of the ring 9 with a rounding 15.
These roundings and the saw cut make it possible to press the connecting piece 4 into the ring 9.
The flange 8 and the mating surfaces 3 and 6 ensure the desired seal. The resilient flange edge 8, together with the ring 9, exerts a tensile force on the connecting piece 4, so that the surfaces 3 and 6 are pressed onto one another. In the event of an air leak, this clamping effect is intensified, since then air under higher pressure than the prevailing air in the vacuum cleaner housing enters the space 16, whereby the rings 7 and 9 press the surfaces 3 and 6 more closely together and the leakage is eliminated.
