Fire door construction Fire door construction of a conventional type possesses either a fireclay on the side facing the furnace or a radiation shield made of fireproof material that reflects the resulting radiant heat into the furnace. Until now, it was still necessary behind this radiation shield, which was mounted at a distance from the actual door body, to provide suitable insulating protective layers in order to insulate the flow of heat to the outside of the door.
Since the doors of boilers or ovens are mostly in the traffic area of the people who are entrusted with the operation, the thermal insulation layers had to be so strong that the outside door temperature was only slightly above room temperature. There are also a wide variety of designs of water-cooled doors known, which, however, require all flexible hose connections for the supply and removal of the cooling medium and therefore, in particular in the case of pressurized boiler media, complicated constructions required.
Air preheaters are also known in which the combustion air is passed over heating surfaces that are heated by convection from the exhaust gases from the furnace.
The invention is based on the object of creating a fire door construction designed as an air preheater which is able to reliably seal large openings without the need to use relatively heavy door constructions with chamotte lining or insulating layers.
The invention consists in a fire door construction with a built-on oil or gas burner that a fan is provided on the hollow door, which is provided with guide channels, for blowing combustion air through, so that the air is preheated by the heat radiation on the fire-side door surface and the Door is cooled at the same time.
The idea of the invention is based on the fact that all or part of the amount of air required for combustion, which is supplied to the furnace by a fan, flows through the guide channels of the door, which expediently form cavities, with the door surface facing the furnace immediately being caused primarily by direct heat radiation from the furnace Ignition of the flame, regardless of the temperature of the heating medium or
the exhaust gases are heated and the air speed is selected so high that as much heat is definitely absorbed by the air flow on the air side as can be given off from the furnace side to the door material. This makes it possible to use ordinary sheet steel even at high furnace temperatures, so that expensive, highly heat-resistant material can be dispensed with. At the same time, the air that is to be burned is preheated so that the door takes on the function of an active, beneficial heating surface and thus increases the overall combustion efficiency of the furnace.
A soft combustion with difficult to burn fuels, such as those used in large boiler construction, is significantly promoted.
The use of these fuels previously used in large industrial boiler systems, which require air preheating with their own air heater heating surfaces, can now also be extended to small firing systems, such as those installed in small steam boilers and heating systems and where it was previously not economical to provide your own air preheater.
Further details are described with reference to Ausführungsbei play the invention shown schematically in the drawing. It shows: Fig. 1 a cross section through a Heizungskes sel with attached air-cooled door, Fig. 2 the air-cooled door in view, Fig. 3 and Fig. 4 two further embodiments in cross section.
1 and 2 show a boiler, the combustion chamber A of which is surrounded on all sides by a water jacket 14 except for the door opening. After leaving the combustion chamber, the combustion gases are passed through the pipes 15 into the smoke outlet nozzle 16. A fan 1 promotes the combustion air for an oil burner 10 and pushes the air in a line 2 under the boiler through to the front to the air-cooled door B, where it enters from below. The pivot on the door B is made possible by releasing a flange cal, with a flexible air nozzle 3 is interposed for the purpose of easier releasability.
The air entering the door B at the bottom is now divided into two partial flows 4 and 5, flows up the side parts of the door inside the double door jacket, is combined again at the top at point 6 and flows downwards in the middle part 7. The burner tube 8 is vigorously washed around and intensively cooled. During this process, the combustion air warms up and reaches about 100 ° C. at point 9 when it exits door B, at which temperature it enters the burner housing of the oil burner 10.
The pivotability of the door B is brought about in a manner known per se by the door hinges 11, the toggle locks 12 being used to press the door against the boiler body.
In Fig. 3, the same boiler as in Fig. 1 is shown in cross section, the arrangement of the oil burner fan 1 was made so that it is attached to the top of the door B and: the air pushes through the door in a single downward movement, from the outlet 9 of which it is deflected into the oil burner 10.
Fig. 4 shows again the same boiler with air cooled door B in cross section, but here an oil burner 10 with built-in fan 1 (which sucks in the combustion air through the double-walled door. For this purpose, the upper outer Man is telblech the door B hen with air inlet holes 13 verses through which the combustion air, due to the fan vacuum, enters the double door jacket and then flows through the outlet 9 to the fan 1 and the oil burner 10.
Of course, the present invention can be applied to any boiler or furnace where there is the possibility or need to preheat the combustion air. So it is easily conceivable to blow the combustion air preheated in the double-walled door under a grate or to react it with the fuel in a furnace of any configuration. It is also conceivable to design the double-walled door in a shape other than the one shown, if the boiler or furnace construction requires it. The air flow and the necessary deflections are based on the air speed and must be dimensioned according to the amount of combustion air that is passed through.
