Steering device on a semi-trailer with trailer The invention relates to a steering device on a semi-trailer with a trailer, with a steering gear for transmitting the steering movements of the semi-trailer pers to the axle of the trailer.
In known steering devices of this type, the steering movements are transmitted through steering linkages or steering cables. The steering transmission by means of the steering linkage allows only a limited steering angle and requires a great deal of effort to transmit the steering movements to the trailer axle, while the steering transmission by means of cable steering shows the well-known disadvantage of inaccurate tracking of the trailer's wheels, due to the uneven elasticity of the wire ropes.
With both types of steering devices mentioned, there are also maneuvering difficulties when driving away and at the same time swiveling the motor vehicle from loading ramps, which are caused by the swinging out of the trailer axle in the direction of the loading ramp, unless the steering device is uncoupled from the trailer axle and this is in its neutral position can be fixed.
The steering device according to the invention overcomes these difficulties in that the steering gear to support the transmission of the steering movements is connected in parallel with a steering aid which is effective in a first position of a switch and which is guided in two piston cylinders and whose actuation can be controlled electro-pneumatically and a rope - or chain transmission, the steering transmission to the trailer axle can be switched off by means of an electropneumatic clutch provided in the bogie of the axle and actuated by a second position of the switch, and control means are provided,
which, when the steering transmission is switched off by means of the switch, automatically bring the trailer axle into the neutral position by means of the power steering piston and fix it in this position.
In the following, an exemplary embodiment of the subject of the invention is explained in more detail with reference to the accompanying schematic drawing.
In this exemplary embodiment, the steering gear used to transmit the steering movements consists of the roller chain 1, the chain wheel 3 arranged on the trailer 11 and the chain wheel 6 seen on the semi-trailer 2. The one mounted coaxially to the king pin 7 and the turntable 8 of the semi-trailer their sprocket 6 is fixedly connected by the stop cam 9 to the fifth wheel 10 arranged on the semi-trailer and makes the steering movements of the semi-trailer with. The roller chain 1 takes over from the front sprocket 6 the steering movements of the Sat telschleppers and transfers them crossed to the sprocket 3 of the trailer arranged coaxially to the turntable 4, which in turn transfers the steering movements to the trailer axle 5.
The electropneumatic steering aid, which is parallel to the chain transmission 1, 3, 6 with respect to the force effect, has two piston cylinders 12, 12 ', the pistons of which are controlled by the electrical control stick contacts 14 of the steering of the semi-trailer and connected to a compressed air source (not shown) Pneumatic valves 13, 13 'are actuated and the supporting steering force is transmitted to the trailer axle 5 via the chain gear consisting of chain 15 and sprocket 16.
To achieve the inevitable counter-rotation of the pistons, the cylinders 12, 12 'of the power steering have chambers 18, 18' filled with hydraulic oil, which are connected to one another via a line. A container 19 serving as an oil reservoir is connected to this line and contains hydraulic oil under pressure, so that the pistons are under constant pressure and the chain 15 is kept permanently tensioned.
The assistance of the steering gear by the steering aid can be switched off by means of the switch 20, the piston cylinders of the steering aid then acting as shock absorbers for the steering gear.
The steering transmission to the trailer axle is switched off by means of the electropneumatic clutch 21, which is located in the chain wheel bearing of the trailer, and at the same time as the steering transmission is switched off, the trailer axle is automatically and inevitably brought into its neutral position by the piston of the steering aid and fixed in it becomes.
In the initial position of the trailer axle shown in the drawing, this is done as follows: The switch 20 connected to a power source (not shown) is switched from the position o to the contacts, thereby giving the electromagnets 24 of the hydraulic valves 25 and via the relay 22 from contact a current and switch the valves 25 from the open position x to the blocking position y. Likewise, the electromagnet of the relay 23 located directly at the contact a receives current and this switches over to the contacts z.
At the same time the one hand with a compressed air source, not shown, and on the other hand with the clutch 21 verbun dene 2-way pneumatic valve 27 via the contact b of the switch 20 current and opens, whereby the clutch cylinder 38 of the clutch 21 is pressed down by the incoming compressed air is and thereby disengages the sprocket 3 and actuates the contact switch 28 be, which connects the contacts z of the relay 23 with the contact b of the switch 20 and thus with the power source.
The fact that the fully disengaged state has been reached is indicated by the lighting up of a control lamp (not shown) provided in the driver's cab of the tractor-trailer.
About the lower of the two contacts z of the relay 23 now flows through the pushbutton switch 29, which in the drawn starting position of the trailer axle by the Kol rod 32 of the piston of the upper cylinder 12 is closed ge to the electromagnet 30 'current, this actuates the relay 22 , which interrupts the power supply to the magnet 24 of the valves 25, whereby these valves switch into the open position and connect the oil chambers 18, 18 'to one another.
At the same time he also holds the valve 13 'via the push button switch 29 current and connects the cylinder 12' to the compressed air source. The compressed air flowing into the cylinder 12 'moves its piston to the right and thus the oil in the oil chamber 18' is pressed via the open connecting line into the oil chamber 18 of the cylinder 12, whereby the piston of the cylinder 12 is moved to the left. Through this counter-rotating movement of the two pistons, the trailer axle is rotated counterclockwise from its starting position via the chain transmission 15, 16.
When the trailer axle reaches its neutral position, the piston rod 32 has just retracted so far that the pushbutton switch 29 falls off the piston rod and thus interrupts the power supply to the valve 13 'and to the magnet 30'. As a result, the valve 13 'blocks the supply of compressed air to the cylinder 12' and the trailer axle remains in its neutral position. At the same time, by switching off the magnet 30 ', the magnets 24 of the valves 25 are connected to current via the relay 22, whereby: the valves 25 break the connection between the oil chambers 18, 18' and thus the trailer axle is fixed in its neutral position.
To return the trailer axle to its initial position shown in the drawing and to dereinkuppeln the same with the steering transmission, the switch 20 is switched to contact c. This has the consequence that on the one hand the relay 22 and the magnet 26 of the relay 23 are switched off from the power source, whereby the valves 25, the oil chambers 18,
18 'connect with each other and the relay 23 switches off the contacts z from the push button switch 28 and on the other hand the elec tromagnet f of the relay 36 via the push button switch 40 closed by the disengaged clutch cylinder 38 and the push button switch 35 closed by the adjustment of the trailer axle in its neutral position 'Receives current, whereby the relay 36 switches and the valve 27 continues to be supplied with current via the relay 23 and via the pushbutton switch 28 closed by the coupling cylinder 38, so that it is kept open and the coupling is prevented from being engaged.
At the same time, the pneumatic valve 13 receives power, which opens and connects the cylinder 12 to the compressed air source. The compressed air flowing into the cylinder 12 pushes the piston to the right and thus the oil from the oil chamber 18 into the oil chamber 18 'of the cylinder 12', where the piston moves to the left. This opposite movement of the two pistons causes the trailer axle to rotate clockwise from its neutral position to its starting position. When the trailer axle reaches the starting position, which is monitored and determined by the detent tip 37, the pressure switch 35 'is opened by the detent tip 37 and the power supply to the valve 13 and to the magnet f of the relay 36 and thus to the valve 27 is interrupted.
This has the consequence that the cylinder 12 and the electro-pneumatic coupling 21 are switched off from the compressed air source, whereby the trailer axle remains in its starting position and the coupling cylinder 38 is pressed upwards under the action of the compression spring 39 and the sprocket 3 the steering transmission engages again. At the moment of complete coupling of the sprocket 3, recognizable by the extinguishing of the aforementioned control lamp, the pushbutton switch 40 switches off the reset device from contact c of switch 20 and thus from the power source.
If the starting position of the trailer axle 5 is opposite to that shown in the drawing, i.e. ge against the neutral position rotates counterclockwise ge, the processes described above run in an analogous manner, only that instead of the push button switch 29 and the piston rod 32, or the pressure switch 35 ', the push button switch 29' and the piston rod 32 ', or the pressure switch 35 comes into play.
