Air filter device, in particular for shelters
The present invention relates to an air filter device, in particular for protected rooms, with a suspended matter and activated carbon filter built into a common housing. The novelty of the invention is that the HEPA filter is arranged in a larger diameter, concentrically fastened cylindrical air duct in the housing so that the air flow entering the housing enters the former radially from the outside to the inside, while the ring-shaped carbon filter is so in the housing is arranged that the air flow is forced to flow axially through the same.
In the accompanying drawing, an embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown in an axial section.
The illustrated filter device has a cylindrical housing 1 which is closed at the bottom by a base 3. The connection of the jacket 2 to the base 3 is carried out in the usual way by means of a sealing ring 4 and a clamping ring 5. On the base 3, attachments 6 for fastening feet are attached. At the top, the housing 1 carries an air inlet connector 7 and an air outlet connector 8. A cylindrical air duct 9 is arranged concentrically in the housing 1 and is firmly connected to the end face 10 of the housing 1. The lower end of the air duct 9 is covered by a disk 11 provided with a central hole 12. Air duct 9 and disk 11 are also connected to one another by sealing ring 13 and clamping ring 14. The disk 11 carries a per se known particulate filter 15 which is concentric in the air duct 9 and is smaller in diameter than the latter.
At the top, the filter 15 is closed by a cover plate 16.
In the hollow cylindrical space 17 formed by the jacket 2 and the air duct 9, the carbon filter 18 is housed, which is of a type known per se. The carbon filter 18 lies between two perforated, ring-shaped metal sheets 19 and 20, the former of which rests against two beads 21 and 22. Compression springs 23, which hold the carbon filter 18 together, are accommodated between the ring plate 20 and the base 3. A filter compound 24 is also placed on the ring plate 20.
The air to be filtered is introduced into the air guide cylinder 9 in the direction of the arrow through a supply line (not shown) and the air inlet connector 7, from where it flows radially from the outside to the inside through the filter layers of the filter 15 and then leaves the latter through the opening 12. The air in the space 17 then flows axially through the filter mass 24 and the carbon filter 18 and leaves the space 17 through the air outlet nozzle 8.
It has been shown that the proposed arrangement of the two filters with radial air passage through the suspended matter filter and axial air passage through the carbon filter results in a very effective filtration of the air to be cleaned. In addition, the two connecting pieces 7 and 8 can be arranged relatively far away from one another, which results in a good mounting option for the air lines to be connected to them.
PATENT CLAIM
Filter device with a HEPA filter built into a common housing and a downstream activated carbon filter, characterized in that the HEPA filter is arranged in a cylindrical air duct with a larger diameter and concentrically fastened in the housing so that the air flow entering the housing enters the first radially from the outside inwards , while the annular carbon filter is arranged in the housing such that the air flow is forced to flow axially therethrough.
