Description
Method for producing adhesive connections on closure parts of bag-like packaging containers and device for carrying out the method
The invention relates to a method for producing adhesive connections on closure parts of bag-like packaging containers by applying adhesive by means of a mechanical adhesive applicator that transfers the adhesive to the surfaces to be glued by wiping or smearing, and to a device for carrying out this method, the invention being particularly useful suitable for bag closures that have been formed by roll-up folds.
It is already known for the present purpose to apply the adhesive with a so-called glue bar, which is first provided with an adhesive layer by means of a roller and then transfers this layer to the surface to be glued by wiping or smearing.
This method, which is very simple in itself, has the disadvantage in certain cases that the adhesive does not reliably reach all those points in sufficient quantity that are essential for the tightness of the adhesive or sealing seam to be formed.
For example, with roll-up folding closures of bags or the like, it is important that when folding and gluing the head closure strip, which has been folded over one or more times on the top of the bag, enough adhesive gets into the corner formed by the head strip and the top of the bag, so that there is an additional seal Flat bag mouth is achieved.
The aim of the invention is to improve the aforementioned method and a device for carrying out the same so that the adhesive transferred from a glue strip or other application organ to the glue point in any amount that can be determined in advance reaches parts and corners that are difficult to reach, thus ensuring perfectly tight seams to achieve.
For this purpose, the method mentioned at the outset is characterized according to the invention in that a pressurized gas is directed against the adhesive supplied by the application element by means of blow nozzles assigned to the application element in such a way that parts of this adhesive are forced to predetermined points of the adhesive connection.
Preferably, the compressed gas can either be mixed with a curing accelerator for the adhesive or it can be heated.
To carry out this method, a device is provided according to the invention, which is characterized in that the application element is designed as a Leirnlei- ste, which has blow nozzles running transversely to the strip and opening out at the front edge of its adhesive-receiving surface through which the compressed gas against which the adhesive applied to the closure parts by means of the strip emerges. Such a glue strip is particularly well suited for gluing roll-in folding closures, since here the adhesive is pushed deep into the fold corners and there effects the desired secure sealing of the bag opening.
Advantageously, compressed air is used as the compressed gas, the flow of which is controlled in the usual way, the adhesive receiving surface of the bar provided with the mouths of the nozzles being concave.
The invention is explained below with reference to schematic drawings for a particularly advantageous embodiment.
In the drawings is
1 shows the sectional illustration of the essential parts of a bag closure gluing device according to the invention equipped with an adhesive application strip and
FIG. 2 shows the adhesive application strip and a bag closure according to FIG. 1 on their own on an enlarged scale.
The device shown contains an adhesive application bar 1, an adhesive storage container 2, an adhesive removal roller 3 immersed in the storage container 2 and an adhesive collecting roller 4 assigned to it, handlebars 5 for guiding and driving the adhesive application bar 1, a curve template 6 for pivoting the adhesive application bar 1 and one on Handlebars 7, 8 guided folding handle 9.
The roller 3 driven in the direction of the arrow removes adhesive K from the storage container 2 and transfers it to the collecting roller 4.
The adhesive application bar 1 (hereinafter referred to as bar) is attached to a lever 10 and pivotably mounted by means of a pin 11 in one link 5, which in turn is attached to a shaft 12 and pivotably mounted by means of this. On said shaft 12 there is a further link, not shown, for guiding the bar 1 at its other end. The illustrated link 5 is pivoted by a lever arm 13 located on it via a linkage 14 of conventional, not illustrated gear parts in the cycle of an associated packaging machine. The bar 1 is non-rotatably connected to a lever 15 via the pin 11, at the end of which a cam roller 16 is rotatably mounted.
When the said link 5 is pivoted, the cam roller 16 rolls along the curve template 6 and, in accordance with its curve profile, causes the bar 1 to pivot via the lever 10 and a spring 17 acting on it in such a way that the front edge lb of its adhesive receiving surface la, which is preferably concave, comes to rest on the collecting roller 4, so that adhesive K can be deposited on the adhesive receiving surface la. By pivoting the curve template 6 counterclockwise, the bar 1 is then lifted off the collecting roller 4 and, by pivoting the lever 13, is guided between the top B1 of a bag B and its fold-in closure E, which is pre-folded in a known manner.
By pivoting the handlebar 8 by means of a lever 18, the folding slide 9 guided by the second handlebar 7 is moved against the side of the roll-up closure E opposite the application of adhesive and there causes an adjustable counterpressure on the bar 1.
A number of nozzle bores 19 which are connected via a common bore 20 and a hose line 21 to a compressed air source (not shown) open into the adhesive receiving surface la of the bar 1. Instead of air, however, it is also possible to use carbonic acid, nitrogen or some other gas having predetermined desired properties, for example air mixed with hardening accelerators or heated air.
The respective gas is released by a suitable, not shown control slide or the like, which is located between the gas source and the strip 1 and flows through the nozzle bores 19 against the adhesive K located between the strip 1 and roll-in folding closure E, so that a part this adhesive is pushed in beyond the area that can be grasped by the strip 1 between the packaging material walls adjoining the trimmed edges S of the roll-up closure E and ensures a good seal.
In addition, it should be pointed out that other types of application organs, for example glue segments or glue rollers, can be assigned additional blow nozzles in the manner according to the invention if the adhesive to be applied is to reach places that are difficult to access.
