Solche Alkylenoxydkondensationsprodukte umfassen:
1. Kondensationsprodukte aus Alkylenoxyd und Glykolen, insbesondere aus Glykolen mit mehr als 4 Kohlenstoffatomen, wie z. B. 1 6-Hexanglykol;
2.

Process for the production of polyamide condensation products
The invention relates to a process for the production of polyamide condensation products, in particular those which are suitable for the formation of elastic molded parts such as threads.
According to the invention, condensation products of a dicarboxylic acid and a mixture of a diaminopolyalkyleneoxy compound and an aliphatic, cycloaliphatic or alkylcycloaliphatic amino acid and / or an aliphatic, cycloaliphatic or alkylcycloaliphatic lactam and optionally also an aliphatic, cycloaliphatic or aromatic diamine are prepared.
The compounds: dicarboxylic acid, diaminopolyalkyleneoxy compound, amino acid or lactam or diamine can each be used individually, or mixtures of these compounds can be used in each case.
The preferred dicarboxylic acids are aliphatic dicarboxylic acids of the formula:
HO2C. (CH2) nCO2H is used, where n is zero or a positive integer from 1 to 10. Adipic acid is particularly suitable. Oxalic acid, succinic acid, glutaric acid, sebacic acid and decanedicarboxylic acid can be mentioned as further suitable aliphatic dicarboxylic acids.
Other suitable dicarboxylic acids are also cycloali phatic, alkylcycloaliphatic, aromatic and allcylaromatic dicarboxylic acids. Cycloaliphatic dicarboxylic acids are to be used as acids which have an alkylene ring structure of the formula:
EMI1.1
contains, where n is equal to an integer from 5 to 16, and where two hydrogen atoms which are not bonded to the same carbon atom and also not to adjacent carbon atoms are each substituted by a carboxyl group to form the corresponding dicarboxylic acids. When using aromatic acids, the carboxyl groups should not be on adjacent carbon atoms in a ring system. Examples of such dicarboxylic acids can u. a.
Mention hexahydroterephthalic acid, hexahydro-p-xylylenedicarboxylic acid, p-xylylenedicarboxylic acid, terephthalic acid and isophthalic acid.
Aliphatic amino acids are to be understood as meaning in particular ω-aminocarboxylic acids of the aliphatic type and the lactams derived therefrom. One can find certain compounds of this genus by one of the formulas: NH2 (CH2) 11CO2H or
EMI1.2
represent, where n is equal to a positive integer from 2 to 11. Caprolactam is particularly suitable.
Next are z. B. laurinolactam (dodecanolactam), oenantholactam and caprylic lactam are suitable.
Cycloaliphatic amino acids are to be understood as meaning those amino acids which have an alkylene ring structure of the formula:
EMI1.3
contain, where n is equal to an integer from 5 to 16 and where two hydrogen atoms that are not bonded to the same carbon atom and not to adjacent carbon atoms are replaced by an amino or. a carboxyl group are substituted.
In the case of alkylcyclo aliphatic amino acids, the amino and carboxyl groups can be attached to carbon atoms of the ring or the side chain.
As examples of the cycloaliphatic and alkylcycloaliphatic amino acids can u. a. Mention 4-amino cyclohexanecarboxylic acid, 4-aminomethylcyclohexanecarboxylic acid and 4-aminocyclohexyl acetic acid.
A diaminopolyalkyleneoxy compound is to be understood as meaning a linear compound which contains two terminal amino groups which are attached to a polyalkyleneoxy chain either directly or via suitable binding groups. Such compounds can conveniently be represented by the formula: NH2X (alkylene-O) 11Y NH2, where X is a direct bond or a linking group and Y is a linking group, and where n is a positive integer. The alkylene groups of a given polyalkyleneoxy chain can be identical to or different from one another: in the latter case the chain can be e.g. Contain a mixture of ethylene and propylene groups. The alkylene groups can contain 2 to 12 carbon atoms and also carry substituents such as alkyl groups.
Such a diaminopolyalkyleneoxy compound can be obtained, for example, from a polyalkyleneoxylglycol of the formula: HO (alkylene-O),. + 1H by changing the hydroxyl groups in halogen atoms - e.g. B. nylchloride-converted into chlorine atoms by reaction with thio and the resulting dihalogen compound reacts with ammonia to form the corresponding diamino compound. In this case, X represents a direct bond and Y represents an alkylene group. However, it is also possible to use the diaminopolyalkyleneoxy compounds from a polyalkyleneoxyglycol of the formula:
To produce HO (alkylene-O) nH by reacting this glycol with acrylonitrile to form bis-p-cyanoether and reducing the latter to the corresponding bis-γ-aminopropyl ether.
In this case, X represents the group: -CH2CH2CH2O- and Y the group: -CH2CH2CH2-. Again, the compounds mentioned can also be prepared from a polyalkyleneoxyglycol of the formula: HO (alkylene-O) nH by using the glycol with a 2-aminomethyl-3, 4-dihydro-2H-pyran for reaction. as described in applicant's UK patent application 5173/65. In this case, X represents a 2-methylenetetrahydropyran-6-yloxy group and Y represents a 2-methylenetetrahydropyran-6-yl group.
The diaminopolyalkyleneoxy compounds also include the diamines, which can be prepared in a manner known per se from alkylene oxide condensation products having two hydroxyl groups. Such alkylene oxide condensation products can be prepared by reacting an alkylene oxide or an alkylene oxide mixture with a compound which contains two hydrogen atoms which are reactive toward the alkylene oxide. Said compound can e.g. B. water, a glycol, a dihydric phenol, a primary amine, a primary amide, a bis-secondary amine or a dicarboxylic acid. Such alkylene oxide condensation products include:
1. Condensation products from alkylene oxide and glycols, especially from glycols with more than 4 carbon atoms, such as. B. 16-hexane glycol;
2.
Condensation products of alkylene oxide and primary amines, such as. B. methylamine, ethylamine and hexadecylamine; and
3. Condensation products of alkylene oxide and dihydric phenols, such as. B. Diphenylolpropane.
As alkylene oxides, ethylene oxide and propylene oxide are particularly preferred, although other alkylene oxides, such as. B. 1,2- or 2,3-butylene oxide can be used. The implementation of the alkylene oxide condensation products with two hydroxyl groups in the diaminopolyalkyleneoxy compounds can, for. B. be effected with the methods already described for converting polyalkyleneoxyglycols into diaminopolyalkyleneoxy compounds.
Particularly preferred diaminopolyalkyleneoxy compounds are diaminopoly (propylene oxide), diamino poly (hexamethylene oxide), diaminopoly (actamethylene oxide) and diaminopoly (decamethylene oxide) to be mentioned. Preferably the diaminopolyalkyleneoxy compounds have a molecular weight in the range from 300 to 6,000.
All aliphatic, cycloaliphatic or aromatic, including alkylcycloaliphatic and alkylaromatic diamines can be used as aliphatic, cycloaliphatic or aromatic diamines, which can optionally be used as constituents of the condensation products according to the invention. However, aliphatic diamines of the formula: NH2 (CH2) iiNH2 are particularly preferred, where n is equal to a positive integer from 2 to 12. Hexamethylenediamine is particularly suitable. Next are z. B. ethylenediamine, nonamethylenediamine, decamethylenediamine, dodecamethylenediamine and p-methylhexamethylenediamine to be mentioned as suitable aliphatic diamines.
Cycloaliphatic diamines are to be understood as meaning those diamines which have an alkylene ring structure of the formula:
EMI2.1
contain, where n is equal to a number from 5 to 16, and where two hydrogen atoms which are not bonded to the same carbon atom or to adjacent carbon atoms are each substituted by an amino group to form the corresponding diamines.
When using aromatic diamines, the amino groups should not be on neighboring atoms.
Examples of suitable cycloaliphatic and aromatic diamines that can be mentioned are 1,3- and 1,4-diaminocyclohexane, p-xylylenediamine, p-phenylenediamine and p-tolylenediamine. The diamine can be used in the form of a salt derived from the dicarboxylic acid.
The dicarboxylic acid is preferably used for the condensation product according to the invention in an amount which corresponds approximately to the stoichiometric equivalent of the amount of diamine used, be it a diaminopolyalkyleneoxy compound or a mixture thereof with another diamine.
The amount of the diaminopolyalkyleneoxy compound used can vary widely. However, the ratio of the weight of the diaminopolyalkyleneoxy compound to the total weight of the amino acid or the aminolactam and any further diamine used is preferably 10:90 to 95: 5.
The condensation products can expediently be prepared by mixing the components and heating to 150 to 3000 ° C. for 30 minutes. heated up to 5 hours. Additives such as antioxidants, heat stabilizers, pigments and fillers that are still stable under the polymerization conditions can be added to the reaction mixture, or they can be mixed with the finished polymer.
Instead of the dicarboxylic acids as such, certain derivatives can be used in the preparation of the condensation products, such as. B. use the esters, especially the lower alkyl esters, and the halides, of the dicarboxylic acids.
If an amino acid is used instead of a lactam, it may be necessary to add a flux to the reaction mixture. Flux is to be understood here as an agent that is able to dissolve the components at the reaction temperature and remove them after the reaction has ended, e.g. B. by reducing the pressure and distilling off or by extraction with a solvent can be. An example of such a flux is o-phenylphenol.
It may be advantageous to carry out the condensation in an atmosphere of an inert gas such as nitrogen or in the presence of a solvent such as e.g. B. water to carry out in a closed vessel under pressure.
The condensation products according to the invention are randomly constructed polyamide condensation products mostly in the form of solids, which are often rubbery. Some of these condensation products can be processed into threads of high stretchability by melt spinning, while foils, films or molded parts can be produced from others by heating.
Depending on the amount of the diaminopolyalkyleneoxy compound in the condensation product, the polyamides which can be processed into fibers exhibit different strength and stretchability; is z. If, for example, the amount of polyether is large, the objects have high stretchability but low strength, and if this amount is small, the strength is relatively high with reduced stretchability.
