<I>Beispiel</I> N-Phthalimidomethyl-O-methyl-O-n-propyl- phosphoro-dithioat (R-5092) 39,1 g (0,2 Mol) N-Chlormethylphthalimid werden in 200 ml Benzol gelöst.

1. Hausfliege (HF) Musca Domestica (Zinn.) 2. Amerikanische Schabe (AR) Periplaneta americana (Lina.). 3. Langwanze (MWB) Oncopeltus fasciatus .
Die Aceton konzentration überstieg niemals 10/a.

as an active ingredient to combat pests. In this formula, X is oxygen or sulfur and R and R1 are lower alkyl radicals that are different from one another, in particular with 1-4 carbon atoms.
The new connections mentioned can be made by using a. N-halomethylphthalimide is reacted with a salt, expediently an alkali metal or ammonium salt, of a dialkyl dithiophosphate or dialkyl monothiophosphate. The reaction is expediently carried out by heating to reflux in an inert solvent. The <RTI
ID = "0001.0029"> usable solvents include the alcohols, ketones, esters and hydrocarbons, as well as mixtures of water with a water-insoluble liquid, e.g. B. benzene. In an expedient mode of implementation, an alcohol is used as the solvent, the bulk of the alcohol is evaporated after the reaction has ended and the reaction product is extracted with another solvent.
The same procedure is followed when using another water-soluble solvent. A water-immiscible solvent is expediently used as the extraction agent.
The reaction products are solid substances that can be purified by recrystallization from alcohol. The designations listed below in addition to the names of the products are abbreviated symbols for the products concerned. <I> Example </I> N-phthalimidomethyl-O-methyl-O-n-propylphosphorodithioate (R-5092) 39.1 g (0.2 mol) of N-chloromethylphthalimide are dissolved in 200 ml of benzene.
A solution of 67.3 g (0.3 mol) of potassium O-methyl-o-n-propylphosphorodithioate, dissolved in 60 ml of water, is added to the stirred solution. The stirred mixture is refluxed and kept under reflux conditions for 2 hours. After cooling to room temperature, two layers separate.
The lower one; aqueous layer is removed and discarded. The upper layer, consisting of the product dissolved in benzene, is washed twice with water, dried over anhydrous magnesium sulfate, filtered and the benzene is removed on the steam bath using a stream of air to facilitate removal of the solvent. The product obtained is a viscous liquid which weighs 66.4 g (96 1 / o of theory), nDSO = 1.5809.
The crude product is analyzed by means of a gas chromatograph and contains approximately 46.7% of the desired mixed ester; d. H. N. Phthalimidomethyl-O-methyl-O-n-propyl phosphorodithioate and smaller amounts of the corresponding dimethyl and di-n-propyl analogues.
The following phthalimidomethyl mixed phosphorous dithioate esters can be prepared by using other mixed ester phosphorodithioate salts by an analogous procedure:

<tb> R-5725 <SEP> methyl <SEP> i-propyl <SEP> - <SEP> semi-solid The compounds examined turned out to be excellent insecticides and acaricides. The biological effectiveness of the compounds was determined by experiments as follows:
<I> Method for </I> extermination <I> of </I> insects Three types of insects were used to determine the insecticidal effect:
1. House fly (HF) Musca domestica (tin.) 2. American cockroach (AR) Periplaneta americana (Lina.). 3. Long bug (MWB) Oncopeltus fasciatus.
(Dallas) The insects were in cylindrical cardboard boxes. 78 mm in diameter and 66 mm in height. The boxes had a cellophane base and were closed with a net at the top. 10 to 25 insects were used per box. Each box contained food and water.
The trapped insects were sprayed with the active ingredient in various concentrations under certain conditions in order to compare the results of the effectiveness of each compound.
The results are given in percentages for the lowest concentration necessary to achieve 100% destruction.
The samples with the house fly deviated from this in the following respects: The active ingredient was dissolved in a volatile solvent, preferably in acetone, the solution was placed on the bottom of a Petri dish with a pipette, air-dried and the dish was placed in the box set.
25 female flies were placed in the box. The flies were constantly in the known amount of active ingredient. Cage exposed. After 24 hours and 48 hours, the dead and surviving flies were counted and the L. ", values were determined in the usual way.
They are listed in the table. <I> Method for eradicating mites </I> The spider mite Tetranychus telarius (Linn.) Was used to determine the acaricidal effect. Young piebald bean plants were infected with a few hundred mites.
Dispersions of the compounds to be investigated were prepared by dissolving various amounts of active ingredient in 10 ml of acetone. This solution was diluted with water containing 0.0175% by volume of Tween 20, an emulsifying agent, the amount of water being large enough to give the desired concentration of the active ingredient.
Equal amounts of the test suspension were then sprayed onto the infected bean plants. After 7 and 14 days, the plants were examined for both postembryonic forms of the mite and for eggs. The results are given in column 2 SM as the percentage concentration for 100% destruction.
The systemic efficacy of the test compounds is shown under 2 SM systemic in the table. In this experiment, the plants of the piebald bean in the first leaf stage were placed in bottles which contained 200 ml of the test solution and held in these by means of cotton plugs. Only the roots were covered by the solution.
The test solutions were dissolved by dissolving the test compounds in a suitable solvent, usually acetone, and then diluted with distilled water.
The acetone concentration never exceeded 10 / a. The active ingredients were tested at different concentrations. After the plants were placed in the test solutions, they were infected with mites. The mortality of the postembryonic, nymphalic and ovicid forms was determined after 7 days by comparison with non-sprayed control plants.
The results are reported as concentrations that will cause complete annihilation unless otherwise stated. This experiment proves the absorption effect of the roots and the ascending of the systemic connection through the plants.
The following results were obtained:
