Description
Vorrichtung zum Regeln der Vorschublänge eines Materialbandes
Die Erfindung betrifft eine Vorrichtung zum Regeln der Vorschublänge eines Materialbandes an einer Verarbeitungsmaschine mittels einer photoelektrischen Einrichtung.
Bei Verpackungsmaschinen wird oft dlas Einschlagmaterial als Band von einer Vorratsrolle abgezogen und in Einzelbogen von bestimmter Länge zerschnitten, aus denen dann die Umhüllung der zu verpackenden Gegenstände gebildet wird. Der periodische Vorschub des Einschlagmaterialbandes erfolgt dabei durch ein angetriebenes Rollen- oder Walzenpaar, zwischen dem das Band durchläuft. Der jeweilige Vorschub entspricht dabei der Strecke, welche die Mantelflächen der Vorschubwalzen bei jedem Arbeitstakt zurücklegen. Durch Veränderung dieser Strecke bzw. des Drehwinkels der Walzen pro Arbeitstakt kann die Länge der Einschlagmaterialzuschnitte verändert werden. Diese Zuschnitte müssen für eine bestimmte Einstellung der Maschine immer gleich lang sein, damit einwandfreie Packungen hergestellt werden können.
Wenn als Einschlagmaterial Papier verwendet wird, arbeitet eine solche Vorrichtung einwandfrei. Wird jedoch z. B. eine Kunststoffolie mit einer sehr glatten Oberfläche verwendet, so tritt gelegentlich zwischen dem Materialband und den Vorschubwalzen ein gewisser Schlupf ein. Dies hat zur Folge, dass das Materialband nicht um eine volle Länge vorgeschoben wird. Der Zuschnitt wird dadurch zu kurz, was zu Ausschuss führt.
Die Erfindung bezweckt, diesen Nachteil zu beheben.
Sie ist dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das Materialband über ein frei umlauffähiges Organ läuft und dieses durch Vermittlung von Anpressmitteln, die mindestens in einem Punkt einen schlupffreien Eingriff zwischen Materialband und umlauffähigem Organ schaffen, in Umlauf setzt und dass das umlauffähige Organ mit die photo elektrische Einrichtung beeinflussenden Markierungen versehen ist.
Es ist an sich bekannt, den Vorschub eines Einschlagmaterialbandes mittels einer photoelektrischen Zelle zu steuern. Zu diesem Zweck werden auf das Materialband spezielle Zentriermarken aufgedruckt, welche von der Photozelle abgetastet werden. Dieses Verfahren ist jedoch teuer und lohnt sich nur, wenn das Einschlagmaterial ohnehin bedruckt werden muss.
Die erfindungsgemässe Vorrichung gestattet dagegen die Verwendung von Einschlagmaterial ohne spezielle Zentriermarken. Sie ist somit vor allem für unbedrucktes Einschlagmaterial vorteilhaft.
In der Zeichnung ist ein Ausführungsbeispiel des Erfindungsgegenstandes dargestellt. Es zeigen:

Fig. 2 eine Draufsicht auf die Vorrichtung nach Fig. 1.
Das Einschlagmaterialband 1 wird von einer Vorratsrolle durch ein nicht dargestelltes Vorschubwalzen paar schrittweise in Richtung des Pfeiles 2 vorgeschoben. Die Vorschubwalzen können dabei kontinuierlich angetrieben und für die Dauer des Vorschubes z. B. durch einen Elektromagneten gegeneinander gepresst werden, so dass das zwischen ihnen befindliche Band 1 fortbewegt wird. Der Antrieb der Vorschubwalzen könnte aber auch periodisch eine und ausgeschaltet werden. Direkt unter dem Materialband 1 befindet sich ein Drehtisch 3, der in einem Lager 4 frei drehbar gelagert ist.
Auf der Unterseite des Drehtisches 3 sind in gleichen Abständen Marken 5 angebracht, die eine photoelektrische Zentriereinrichtung 6 an sich bekannter Bauart beeinflussen. Uber dem Materialband 1 ist an einem Arm 7 eine Anpressrolle 8 derart angeordnet, dass ihre Achse in einer Ebene liegt, die durch die Achse des Drehtisches 3 und senkrecht zur Bewegungsrichtung der Materialbahn 1 verläuft. Die Anpressrolle 8 ist, wie in Fig. 1 durch den Doppelpfeil angedeutet, axial verstellbar.
Die Wirkungsweise der Vorrichtung ist folgende: Die Anpressrolle 8 drückt das Materialband 1 exzentrisch auf die Oberfläche des Drehtisches 3. Dadurch wird an der Andruckstelle die Reibung zwischen dem Materialband und dem Drehtisch stark vergrössert. Der Drehtisch wird deshalb durch die Vorschubbewegung des Materialbandes in Umdrehung versetzt, bis eine der Marken 5 über der Photozelle 6 durchläuft, worauf diese, auf an sich bekannte Weise, die den Vorschub des Materialbandes veranlassenden Mittel ausser Wirkung setzt. Beim nächsten Arbeitstakt wird das Materialband 1 vorgeschoben, bis die nächste Marke 5 über der Photozelle 6 durchläuft. Die Länge des Vorschubes kann durch Verstellen der Anpressrolle 8 in Richtung des Doppelpfeiles 9, d. h. radial zum Drehtisch, ver ändert werden.
Falls ein bedrucktes und mit Zentriermarken versehenes Materialband verarbeitet werden soll, kann lediglich der Drehtisch 3 entfernt werden.
Die Zentriermarken des Materialbandes beeinflussen dann in bekannter Weise direkt die Photozelle 6.

The invention relates to a device for regulating the feed length of a material strip on a processing machine by means of a photoelectric device.
In packaging machines, the wrapping material is often pulled off a supply roll as a tape and cut into individual sheets of a certain length, from which the wrapping of the objects to be packed is then formed. The periodic advance of the wrapping material strip is carried out by a driven pair of rollers, between which the strip runs. The respective feed corresponds to the distance that the outer surfaces of the feed rollers cover with each work cycle. By changing this distance or the angle of rotation of the rollers per work cycle, the length of the wrapping material blanks can be changed. These blanks must always be of the same length for a certain setting of the machine so that perfect packs can be produced.
If paper is used as the wrapping material, such a device works properly. However, if z. If, for example, a plastic film with a very smooth surface is used, a certain slip occurs occasionally between the material strip and the feed rollers. As a result, the material strip is not advanced a full length. This makes the cut too short, which leads to rejects.
The invention aims to remedy this disadvantage.
It is characterized in that the material band runs over a freely circulating organ and this is set in circulation by means of pressing means that create a slip-free engagement between the material band and the circulating organ at least at one point and that the circulating organ with the photoelectric device influencing Markings is provided.
It is known per se to control the advance of a band of wrapping material by means of a photoelectric cell. For this purpose, special centering marks are printed on the material strip, which are scanned by the photocell. However, this process is expensive and is only worthwhile if the wrapping material has to be printed anyway.
In contrast, the device according to the invention allows the use of wrapping material without special centering marks. It is therefore particularly advantageous for unprinted wrapping material.

The wrapping material strip 1 is advanced step by step in the direction of arrow 2 from a supply roll by a pair of feed rollers (not shown). The feed rollers can be driven continuously and for the duration of the feed z. B. are pressed against each other by an electromagnet, so that the tape 1 located between them is moved. The drive of the feed rollers could also be switched on and off periodically. Directly under the material strip 1 there is a turntable 3 which is freely rotatably mounted in a bearing 4.
On the underside of the turntable 3, marks 5 are attached at equal intervals, which influence a photoelectric centering device 6 of a known type. A pressure roller 8 is arranged on an arm 7 above the material strip 1 in such a way that its axis lies in a plane which runs through the axis of the turntable 3 and perpendicular to the direction of movement of the material web 1. The pressure roller 8 is, as indicated in Fig. 1 by the double arrow, axially adjustable.
The mode of operation of the device is as follows: The pressure roller 8 presses the material band 1 eccentrically onto the surface of the turntable 3. This greatly increases the friction between the material band and the turntable at the pressure point. The turntable is therefore set in rotation by the feed movement of the material strip until one of the marks 5 passes over the photocell 6, whereupon this, in a manner known per se, deactivates the means causing the feed of the material strip. During the next work cycle, the material strip 1 is advanced until the next mark 5 passes over the photocell 6. The length of the advance can be adjusted by adjusting the pressure roller 8 in the direction of the double arrow 9, d. H. radial to the turntable, can be changed.
If a printed material strip provided with centering marks is to be processed, only the turntable 3 can be removed.
The centering marks of the material strip then directly influence the photocell 6 in a known manner.
