Safety coupling for torque-transmitting shafts The present invention relates to a safety coupling for torque-transmitting shafts, with a device for automatically switching off the driving part in the event of overload and with radially movably arranged, spring-loaded drivers that fit into corresponding recesses of the other coupling half intervention.
Safety clutches for torque-transmitting shafts are already known, in which the drive machine can be switched off by control pulses. The transfer of the switching activity from the rotating coupling part to the switching contacts takes place here by an axial displacement of the coupling flanges or by slip rings. In the case of a large number of constructions, axial displacement is not desirable for reasons of space and is often not possible.
A corresponding switch activity of the rotating coupling part under torque load is particularly difficult to obtain when relatively moderately large torques are to be transmitted, since the frictional resistance to be overcome during the axial displacement of the coupling part is very large, and also here the so-called stick-slip effect has a very negative influence on the switching activity of the coupling part mounted on the drive shaft or the driven shaft.
The invention has set itself the task of creating a safety clutch with which the above-described disadvantages are avoided by the safety clutches of the same type.
According to the invention, the object is achieved by arranging at least one switching ring provided with elevations and recesses, which is firmly connected to a switching lever and via the same ben with switching elements in operative connection, as well as through engagement surfaces arranged on the drivers, which when overloaded with the Recesses of the switching ring come into engagement.
The drawing shows an embodiment of the invention in a simplified representation, namely: Fig. 1 is a longitudinal section through the safety coupling in the front view, Fig. 2 is a side view of Fig. 1 in the direction of arrow 22, Fig. 3 is a cross section through the safety coupling ment according to the line III-III in Fig. 1, in which the drivers are in the normal position, and Fig. 4 shows a cross section through the safety coupling,
in which the drivers are in a radially outwardly offset position due to overload compared to the normal position.
The structure and the mode of operation of the safety coupling are as follows according to FIGS. 1-4: A drive shaft 2 is in drive connection with an electric motor 1 and is fixedly connected to a cam disk 3 so that it cannot rotate. On a tubular portion 4 of the cam plate 3 is loosely rotatable, but not axially displaceable, a disk-shaped rotary body 5 is arranged, which is firmly a related party with a toothed wheel 6 which is in drive connection with a machine part to be driven, not shown.
In the rotation body 5 are provided in the radial direction Rich at regular intervals spaced apart guide tracks 7, in which reciprocating, loaded by springs 8 with drivers 9 are arranged. On a tubular section 10 of the cam disk 3, a switching ring 13 provided on the inner circumference with elevations 11 is rotatably but not axially displaceable. With the switching ring 13, a switching lever 14 is firmly a related party, which is connected to switching elements 15 and 16 in Wirkver connection.
The drivers 9 are provided at their outer ends with rounded engagement surfaces 17 and 18, which can engage with depressions or recesses in the cam disk 3 and the switching ring 13. In the rotation body 5 7 adjusting screws 19 are also arranged at the ends of the guide tracks, with which the tension of the springs 8 can be changed.
During normal operation, the drivers 9 are in the position shown in FIG. Here, the torque is transmitted from the drive shaft 2 to the cam disk 3, driver 9, rotating body 5 and gear wheel 6, which is in drive connection with a machine part to be driven. The shift lever 14 firmly connected to the switching ring 13 be found in the normal position shown in Fig. 2, in which no circuit is triggered via the switching elements 15 and 16 during operation.
When the limit torque is exceeded who the driver 9 by the cams of the cam disk 3 against the force of the spring 8 along the guide tracks 7 moves radially outward until they come into engagement with the recesses 12 arranged on the inner circumference of the switching ring 13. Here, the switching lever 14 is moved in the direction of rotation of the drive shaft 2 and simultaneously actuates one of the two switching elements 15 or 16, depending on the direction of rotation of the shaft 2.
If, for example, the drive shaft 2 rotates clockwise (see also FIG. 2), the switching bolt 20 of the switching element 16 with lever 14 is shifted to the left against the force of the spring 24.
In this case, the switching element 16 causes the switching off of the rotor of the electric motor 1 or the drive shaft 2 of the same clockwise driving electromotoric force, while at the same time through the switching element 16 a relay comes into operation, which reverses the direction of rotation of the electric motor or the Drive shaft 2 tends to turn counterclockwise.
If the direction of rotation of the drive shaft 2 is counterclockwise, the mode of operation of the circuit is basically the same, but in the opposite direction of rotation. Here, the switching pin 21 is shifted to the right, the electromotive force driving the rotor or the drive shaft 2 is now switched off by the switching element 15, while at the same time an electromotive force is triggered by the switching element 15 via a relay, which is responsible for this diert to rotate the rotor of the electric motor 1 or the drive shaft 2 of the same clockwise.
In practice it has been shown that the short-term switchovers triggered by the overload often remove the faults causing the overload, so that the entire machine system can then continue to operate. However, should it be a serious malfunction, an overload protection (not shown) is provided in the electric motor 1 in a manner known per se for such a case, with the aid of which the electric motor 1 is automatically switched off when the disturbances causing the overload should persist.
