Exposure device for copiers The invention relates to an exposure device for copiers in which the image of a stationary template is transferred to the continuously moving substrate by means of an optical imaging system coupled to a movement device for a light-sensitive substrate.
In the case of devices for making copies of master copies, that is to say documents or the like, it has proven advantageous to let the original rest during the exposure. On the one hand, this also makes it possible to copy book and magazine pages. On the other hand, damage to the original is excluded.
An image of the entire original on a copy material that is also at rest, however, requires high light output, complex precautions for uniform illumination and an imaging lens that covers a large angular range. In addition, when the device is designed as a continuous copier @ in which at least the layer carrier is in continuous motion during the entire copying process, smaller device dimensions and overall shorter copying times can be achieved.
This is particularly the case when various treatment stations are directly connected to the exposure station, because the treatment times can then overlap with the charging and exposure times.
It has already been proposed to image a stationary original in strips on the continuously moving layer carrier by means of an objective which can be moved in the direction of the original surface and is coupled to the moving device of the layer carrier. However, because of the change in the optical path length that occurs during scanning, this device only provides a sharp image in one point of the scanning path. In addition, it has a considerable spatial expansion in the direction winkelrecht th to the layer support.
The present invention relates to an exposure device of the type mentioned at the beginning with the characterization according to the invention that in a part of the optical beam path running at least approximately parallel to the surface of the originals a first mirror device, which is movable parallel to this surface and driven by the movement device of the substrate, is movable for strip-wise scanning of the original and a movable surface also parallel to the original, driven at half the speed of the first mirror device, second mirror device for deflecting the beam path in its opposite direction are arranged.
In this way, an exact compensation of the change in the optical path length that occurs during the scanning of the original can be achieved in the simplest way. At the same time, as a result of the beam path, which for the most part runs parallel to the surface of the original, the overall height of the device is relatively low.
The drawing shows in section a Ausführungsbei game of the subject invention.
In a housing 1 of a copier, a transparent platen 2 for a template to be copied 3, for example a book template, is einas sen. Inside the housing 1, a lens 4 is arranged, the optical axis of which is parallel to the surface of the template 3. On a BEFE in the housing 1 continuous guide rail 5 are by means of rollers 6 and 7 two parallel to the original surface movable Schlit th 8 and 9 out.
The carriage 9 carries two deflection mirrors 10 and 11 for deflecting the lens beam path in the opposite direction. A deflection mirror 12 is arranged on the carriage 8, which deflects rays running parallel to the original surface in a direction perpendicular to the surface.
The carriage 8 also carries a lighting device consisting of two luminous tubes 13 and 14, which extends over the entire width of the template 3. The fluorescent tubes 13 and 14 are enclosed by a reflector 15, which also has an exposure opening 16 that extends over the entire width of the original 3.
In an inlet opening 1 a and an outlet opening 1 b of the housing 1, guide plates 17-23 are used for a layer support 24 provided with a light-sensitive layer. The layer support 24 can be inserted in the direction of arrow A by hand.
It is conveyed through the device by means of conveyor rollers 25-28 which are connected, for example, by elastic pads 29 and 30 to an electric motor 31, from which it leaves in the direction of arrow B. At the exposure point, it is pressed against a transparent support 33 by the guide plate piece 21, which is under the action of a compression spring 32. The guide plate piece 21 closes a tube 34 connecting the objective 4 to the exposure point.
To drive the carriages 8 and 9, a cable 35 is provided, one end of which is attached to a take-up reel 36. The take-up reel 36 is coupled to the transport roller 28 by means of gears 37, 38, 39 and 40. A magnetic coupling 41 is arranged between the gears 38 and 39. It is connected by a lead 42 to a power source not shown.
Two microswitches 45 and 46 are connected in parallel between two line sections 43 and 44 serving for the return of the current. The actuators 45a and 46a of the two microswitches are in contact with the substrate 24.
The other end of the cable 35 is suspended from a pin 8a of the carriage. A further cable 47 is attached to a pin 8b of the carriage 8 and runs over a roller 48 mounted on the carriage 9. The second end of the cable 47 is attached to an eccentric 49a, which is mounted on a bracket 49 fixed to the device housing.
By rotating the eccentric 49a, the position of the entire imaging device can be achieved in the simplest manner. A tension spring 50 is also attached to a pin 49b of the bracket 49 and is continued in a cable 51. After being deflected, the cable 51 is anchored to a pin 9a of the carriage 9 by means of a roller 52 fixed to the device housing.
If a layer carrier 24 is now inserted through the slot 1 a of the device housing 1, it is grasped by the continuously rotating transport rollers 25 and 26 and guided to the exposure point located between the pressure plate 21 and the support plate 33. Shortly before entering the exposure point, its front edge lifts the actuating element 45a of the microswitch 45, whereby the magnetic coupling is energized.
The take-up reel 36 begins to rotate or to wind up the cable 35, so that the carriage 8 is set in motion in the direction of arrow C. The mirror 12 scans the surface of the template 3 in strips through the loading opening 16. The respective scanned point is intensely illuminated by the fluorescent tubes 13 and 14 arranged on both sides of the exposure opening 16.
Simultaneously with the movement of the slide 8 in the direction of the arrow C, the slide 9 is moved in this direction at half the speed of the slide 8 by the piece of rope guided around the roller 48 like a rope.
The extension of the part 4a of the optical beam path occurring as a result of the movement of the slide 8 is accordingly reduced by half the extension of the two parts 4a and 4b of the beam path due to the movement of the two mirrors 10 and 11 Part 4a compensated exactly. The optical focus remains unchanged during the entire scanning movement.
If, in addition, the ratio of the transport speed of the substrate 24 to the scanning speed of the carriage 8 corresponds in a known manner to the selected optical imaging scale, or if the imaging ratio is 1: 1 at the speeds assumed in the present example, the result is a completely blur-free and in the entire area of the original optimally sharp image of the stationary original 3 on the continuously moving support 24.
In addition, there are exactly the same, optimal lighting conditions for all points of the scanned original.
At the end of the scanning process, the order deflecting mirror 10 to 12 take the dashed lines La gene 10a to 12a. The rear edge of the sheet-shaped layer carrier 24 has already released the actuating element 45a of the microswitch 45. The magnetic coupling 41 is still energized until the rear edge of the substrate 24 and the actuator 46a of the microswitch 46 has passed. At this moment the clutch 41 engaged between the gears 38 and 39 is released so that the carriages 8 and 9 can return to their starting position under the influence of the tension spring 50.
The example chosen shows an exposure device for light-sensitive layer substrates, which is separate from the treatment stations, as is often used, for example, for the purposes of printing form production. The exposure device is suitable, however, deviating from the example treated, as already mentioned, due to the continuously moving layer carrier during the entire exposure process, especially for installation in devices in which the layer carrier de NEN except the exposure station and various treatment stations such.
