Ausführungsbeispiele des Erfindungsgegenstandes sind in der Zeichnung schematisch dargestellt und zwar zeigt: Fig. 1 ein Rollenpaar einer drehenden Stanzma- trize; Fig. 2 eine hin- und hergehende Flach-Matrize; Fig. 3 ein Rohstück geschnitten und gefalzt; Fig. 4 eine schaubildliche Teilansicht einer Form;
Fig. 5 einen Schnitt längs der Linie 5-5 in Fig. 4 im grösseren Masstab; Fig. 6 ebenfalls einen Schnitt im grösseren Masstab längs der Linie 6-6 in Fig. 4; Fig. 7 einen Schnitt längs der Linie 7-7 in Fig. 6; Fig. 8 eine schaubildliche Teilansicht eines Mes sers, das von demjenigen gemäss der Fig. 5-7 ab weicht;
Mold for cutting and folding paper, cardboard, cardboard and the like. The present invention relates to a mold for cutting and folding paper, cardboard, cardboard and the like with cutting blades made of thin steel strips which are mounted on a plate.
So far, the fastening has been done by means of brackets that are riveted, welded or otherwise attached to the knives and the plate, or by means of knives that are wedged in the grooves of a plywood sheet. The free longitudinal edge of the knife is sharp if cutting or wedge-shaped and blunt if folding is intended; For the sake of clarity, the term cutting knife is used below for both cutting knives and folding knives.
The present invention aims to provide an improved shape which is suitable for flat or curved mold plates. According to the invention, the form of the type mentioned has a plate made of Wei chem material, preferably made of a thermoplastic resin material such. B. polyethylene with at least one cutting knife which is partially embedded in a groove formed essentially by a pressing of the knife in the material.
The present invention also relates to a method for producing such a shape, which consists in inserting a cutting knife into a plate made of soft material by pressing it into a groove which is essentially produced by the pressing-in process becomes.
The present invention is for the production of a complete die for the production of a fer term stamped part from a piece of cardboard d. H. such a die, which has knives to produce all cuts and folds in one operation, as well as for the production of individual parts, d. H. individual knives inserted in strips of the material for individual assembly on plates, rolling cylinders or the like., suitable.
This offers advantages in certain cases, because it allows a rotating die to be used as a bar bending device, slot pusher or the like. Even in the case of particularly difficult dies that are only used for a short period of operation, it can be more economical to build a die on the plate or the roller from individual parts than to produce a special mold consisting of one part.
The application of pressure can be carried out, for example, by supporting the knife between two guide plates of a certain thickness, which is also proportional to the part of the knife protruding from the finished shape, with a sheet of material over the cutting edges to protect them and over this table a plate is placed and then pressure is applied.
The knife may have a grooved edge opposite the cutting edge so that the metal tongues penetrate the plate between the grooves to create a discontinuous groove; this facilitates the bending of the knife and leads to a further advantage in that the material between the grooves along the knife acts as a reinforcement and improves the hold caused by the resilience of the plate material.
Furthermore, the edge lying opposite the cutting edge of the knife can be formed sinusoidally and without grooves, this sinusoidal edge being pressed into the plate material.
The knives can be pressed in completely through the plate thickness so that the support cylinder or the support plate (in the case of flat shapes) can press directly on the knife during the cutting or folding process; In general, however, such a training is only advantageous if the knife is provided with grooves, since otherwise the plate is weakened as a result of the groove or groove for receiving the knife. The knife can also only partially be pressed into the plate material in order to allow further pressing in during operation.
The cutting edge of the knives can be coated with Tungsten Carbide in order to obtain a hard, permanent cutting edge.
In order to facilitate the ejection of punched material from the mold during operation, rubber or a similar soft material can be arranged on the face of the plate between the cutting blades.
In the rotating version, a cylindrical shape as described above interacts with a stamping cylinder, which consists, for example, of a rubber cylinder with a sleeve made of hard steel, in order to prevent excessive wear on the knife.
Exemplary embodiments of the subject matter of the invention are shown schematically in the drawing, specifically showing: FIG. 1 a pair of rollers of a rotating punching die; 2 shows a reciprocating flat die; 3 shows a blank cut and folded; Figure 4 is a partial perspective view of a mold;
FIG. 5 shows a section along the line 5-5 in FIG. 4 on a larger scale; FIG. FIG. 6 likewise a section on a larger scale along the line 6-6 in FIG. 4; Figure 7 is a section along line 7-7 in Figure 6; 8 is a diagrammatic partial view of a knife which differs from that according to FIGS. 5-7;
FIG. 9 shows a view of the knife according to FIG. 8 from below; 10 shows the knife according to FIGS. 8, 9 in a view similar to that in FIG. 5 and FIG. 11, in cutaway, one type of assembly.
Figures 1 and 2 show two types of punching dies in operation. In Fig. 1 blanks are loaded in the direction of arrow A between the (continuously) rotating pair of rollers. One roller 20 of this pair of rollers has a shape which has cutting or folding blades so that the blades are pushed through or into the cardboard piece at the narrowest point between the rollers.
In Fig. 2, the flat plate 21 carries the shape and the piece of cardboard moves first in direction B to push the piece of cardboard past the pressure roller 22 after which it moves in the opposite direction C to move the piece of cardboard from the plate remove and replace with another. Of the two methods, the one of Fig. 1 offers the possibility of a faster Arbeitsgeschwin speed, but it is relatively new and has not found widespread use in the absence of a suitable, economical and effective method for making molds.
Fig. 3 shows purely for example a typical punched piece 23, which is Herge from a flat cardboard part: this is to be cut along the lines 24, 25, 26, these cuts running completely through the cardboard part and this is dotted along the line Lines 27, 28 to be folded. The parts 29 are to be removed so that a box consisting of an upper part, a lower part, side parts and hand holes can be made from the finished punched piece. can be produced.
The blanks can be treated to produce the cuts, and folded by being pushed past the counter roller either in the direction of their length or their width, depending on the expediency (Fig. 1 or 2).
In general there are three possible and probable types of knives; allel consist essentially of steel strips or the like. Depending on the desired function, a laterally sharpened or blunted edge. A first form of training, not shown, is simple, i. H. the male connector has a constant width and thickness and is flat.
A second embodiment, preferably usable where the knife must be curved along its length, lying in a plane containing the center of curvature, is notched, i. H. the knife has a number of slots that are evenly spaced from one another and extend from the edge opposite the cutting or folding edge in the direction of the former. If the knife is straight, the slots preferably have parallel sides and semi-circular ends.
When such a knife is bent according to FIG. 6, the slots allow and facilitate the curvature, and the sides of the slots are no longer parallel, but rather begin to converge towards the open end Schlit ze. Furthermore, the mold plate material can extend across and through the knife, i. E. H. penetrate the slots so that although the knife can penetrate the full thickness of the material, its strength is not impaired.
The third embodiment of a knife is shown in Figures 8-10. This has a sinusoidal design along the side edge 30 opposite the cutting or folding edge 31, so that a number of grooves 32, 33 extending transversely to the knife strip, the depth of which vary along their length, are formed on alternating sides of the knife.
If this knife is curved, the depth of the grooves increases. Advantageously, this knife is only partially embedded in the mold, so that molding material on opposite sides of the knife is connected to each other by material that is below the side edge which is opposite the cutting edge.
In all cases, the knives are to be embedded in the material by means of pure pressure so that the knives form slots in the molding material. The molding material should be selected with this fact in mind. The material should allow the knife to penetrate easily and be as tough and durable as possible.
Synthetic resins are preferred, particularly polyethylene and polypropylene, which are readily available in sheet or strip form and can be curved for use in rotary embossing, for example in a known manner after thermal softening.
Figure 11 illustrates the basic method of inserting the knives into the material by forming their own slots; the illustrated knives 34, which may be of any type, are temporarily supported by a support 35 made of a suitable material. This carrier acts as a guide for the knife. The embedded edges of the knife are on a plate of the molding material 36, for example plastic, which in turn on a relatively rigid abutment z. B. a plate or roller 37 is on.
The cutting edges of the knives are covered by a board, for example made of brass or steel 38, with the plate or roller 39 supporting this board. If a flat shape has to be made, for example to be used in the device according to FIG. 2, all parts 35-39 are flat, planar and parallel so that the knives can be pressed into the mold 36 by a pressing operation.
It can be seen that the carrier and guide plates 35 are formed like lamellae, so that the total thickness can be reduced during successive operations in order to offer optimal support in the various stages.
If the dies are used, for example, in the arrangement according to FIG. 1, the nip between the rollers 39, 37 is preferably closed in order to partially embed the knives, after which the rollers are rotated in order to embed the entire length of the knives complete: the roll gap can gradually be closed while turning and the lamellae can be gradually removed from the carrier as the embedding progresses.
In this case the knives can be straight so that they are tangential to the shape or they can be curved in order to be adapted to the shape, so that the curvature is only slightly changed during embedding.
Of course, where the curvature changes during embedding, this must be taken into account when calculating the length of the curved knife.
Before use, pads made of foam or rubber as at 40 (Fig. 5) can be provided on both sides of the knife in order to act as a stripper or scraper in a known Wei.
In the case of curved shapes, the curvature can advantageously be such that the shapes snap over the rollers, i.e. H. the shape can extend over a little more than 180 degrees.
Any suitable means can be provided to secure the molds to the plates or rollers, including the like. a. Clamping means, screw bolts, etc. Adhesives can also be used, preferably in connection with stops for the corners of the mold, which serve to fix the shape in the circumferential direction and parallel to the roller axis, while the adhesive helps or serves to avoid movement of the roller. This can be particularly advantageous where the shape is a narrow bar with only one knife.
