Process for the automatic control of machine tools and equipment for carrying out the process In larger machine tools, the work sequence is numerically controlled by a program. The creation of such a program is not easy, since the entire machining process must be taken into account right down to the last details, which requires a wealth of machining experience for the creator of the program. The creation of such a program is only economical for large quantities in series production.
The object of the present invention is to keep the preparatory human work for the subsequent, automatic machining process so small that the entire programming process is economical even for small numbers of items and there is also the possibility of programming the rich practical experience of a professional to use directly at the workbench, in such a way that his approach to machining a workpiece is recorded as a pattern for the automatic machining of other exactly the same workpieces.
According to the method according to the invention for the automatic control of machine tools, the programming and storage of the data necessary for the automatic machining sequence can be carried out automatically when the machining sequence is carried out by hand for the first time.
The invention also relates to a device for performing the method in which the movements of the machine parts executing the feed of the tool or the workpiece are divided into coordinates, each coordinate being assigned a measuring device and a memory. During the production of the first workpiece by a professional, the movements of the tool or workpiece or the combined movements thereof are automatically stored on the programming device.
When processing the other workpieces with exactly the same design, the tool and workpiece can now be controlled according to the program recorded for this purpose by the programming device that is operatively connected to the machine tool.
In the drawing, an exemplary embodiment of a machine tool provided with the programming device according to the invention is shown schematically, namely: FIG. 1 shows the machine tool with the programming device for recording the program and FIG. 2 shows the machine tool in vertical section with the Programming device for the execution of the program.
In the example shown, 1 is a drilling machine that is operated by a professional 2. 3 is the support that guides the drilling spindle 4 and 5 is the drill or milling cutter clamped in the drilling spindle 4 for machining the workpiece 6. The support 3 is operatively connected to a variable capacitor 7. This is part of an oscillating circuit 8, in which the frequency changes with the adjustment of the capacitor 7. 9 is a tape recorder for continuous storage of the frequencies of the resonant circuit B.
To the tape 9, an electronic device 10 is connected. 11 is an electro-hydraulic servo valve which controls the flow of pressurized oil for the actuation of the piston 12 ′ of a servo motor 12. The following is a simple example of the program recording and program execution process.
A skilled worker 2 drills a deep hole in a workpiece 6 on the boring mill (FIG. 1) by operating the advance of the drill by hand and, according to his experience, temporarily extends the drill 5 for the purpose of removing the chips from the hole. The movement of the feed is transmitted to the adjustment capacitor 7, which is part of an oscillating circuit 8 in which the frequency changes with the adjustment of the capacitor.
These frequencies are continuously stored on the tape of the tape recorder 9. In this way it is possible to store every position which the worker has given the tool as a frequency in the tape of the device 9 and thus to create an exact work program.
When machining further workpieces, the control of the boring mill can automatically adjust. the previously recorded program. According to Fig. 2, the tape of the Ge advises 9 is played for this purpose. The current frequency reaches the electronic device 10, which as. The output supplies an impressed direct current linear to a frequency difference at the input. Of the two frequencies that enter the device and the difference between which appears at the output,
one Fre quency is that of the tape and the other a so-called actual frequency. This actual frequency is lower than the tape frequency at the moment under consideration. A direct current will therefore flow at the device output, which in turn actuates the electrohydraulic servo valve 11. This standard, continuously variable valve has the property of delivering a corresponding amount of oil according to the current flowing at the outlet,
This means that as long as an electrical current flows at the input, a certain amount of oil also flows at the output. This oil ge leached into the cylinder of the servo motor 12 and it thus generates a movement of the servo piston 12 ', which in turn controls the advance of the drill 5 on the boring mill. In the already mentioned variable capacitor resonant circuit 8, this movement increases the frequency. This frequency is now the actual frequency and reaches the aforementioned electrical device 10.
As soon as the actual frequency matches the tape frequency, no more current flows at the output of the device. The feed rate of the drill becomes zero. When playing the tape so, as can be seen, the current frequency is assigned a certain position of the drill.
