Process for the production of hollow threads, as well as hollow threads produced by this method The invention relates to a method for the production of hollow threads from synthetic linear polycondensation products by the melt spinning method, these products being pressed through slit-shaped spinning openings into a gaseous medium, which Slit-shaped spinning openings each form a geometrical figure that is not completely closed, is open at one point and consists of one or more straight and / or curved pieces that do not overlap one another,
whereby the squeezed out rays of the melt flow together to form a hollow thread.
Such a method is known.
It has now been shown, surprisingly, that hollow threads with particularly favorable properties, in particular with regard to rigidity and insulating capacity, can be achieved if, according to the invention, the melt originating from one or both ends of the gap is mixed with the melt from approximately the two ends of the gap Part of the resulting melt is brought to flow together.
According to a preferred embodiment, one gap end of the gap-shaped spinning orifices is not in the extension of the other. One of the gap ends of the gap-shaped spinning orifices is preferably bent inwards at a distance from the other end in the geometric figure.
If the threads emerging from the spinning orifices are in a gas flow directed transversely to their running direction, the execution is most successful if the direction of the gas flow approximates the line on the spinning plate the gap in the geometric figure between the two Gap ends with the opposite of this gap connecting the gap part, coincides.
The invention also relates to hollow threads which have been produced according to the method according to the invention.
The invention is explained with reference to the drawing, for example.
Figure 1 shows the shape of a slit-shaped spinning opening in a front view.
Figure 2 shows a differently formed gap-shaped spinning opening.
Figure 3 shows a hollow thread in cross section. Figure 4 shows in cross section another hollow thread.
Both FIGS. 1 and 2 show a single slit-shaped spinning opening, a large number of which are attached according to a specific pattern in a spinning plate not shown. The molten polycondensation product is fed to one side of such a spinning plate under pressure. On the other side of the spinning plate, the formed hollow threads are generally wound up in a known manner after cooling.
The slot-shaped spinning orifices shown in the drawing are generally identified by the number 1 and form a geometric figure that is not closed at 2. The gap ends 3 and 4 do not overlap and one is not in the extension of the other. The geometric figure formed by both columns is mainly oval.
The slit-shaped spinning opening according to FIG. 1 consists of a straight, inwardly curved piece 5, a short straight piece 6, a curved piece 7, a straight piece 8, a subsequent curved piece 9 and finally a straight piece 10 one after the other When spinning with the slit-shaped spinning orifices according to FIG. 1, hollow threads with a cross section according to FIG. 3 are obtained.
This is a consequence of the confluence of the melt originating from the gap ends 3 and 4 with the melt which emerges from the straight piece 8 of the gap, which piece 8 lies approximately opposite the gap ends 3 and 4. The hollow threads according to FIG. 3 have two separate, roughly semicircular cavities and a mainly oval outer contour.
The slit-shaped spinning opening according to FIG. 2 consists of a curved piece 11, a straight piece 12, a curved piece in succession from the end 3. 13 and a straight piece 14. When spinning with the. Slit-shaped spinning opening according to FIG. 2, threads with a cross section according to FIGS.
In the case of the hollow threads according to FIG. 4, only the melt originating from one of the splitting ends has flowed together with the melt originating from the part lying opposite the splitting ends.
If a spinning plate with spinning orifices according to FIG. 2 is used, the above-mentioned flow of the melt from one or both columns can be conveyed by a stream of gas, e.g. B. air, in the direction of the arrow le A or B against the freshly spun threads can bla sen.
It will be clear that the direction of arrows A and B roughly coincides with the line which connects the gap 2 in the geometric figure between the two gap ends 3 and 4 with the gap part lying opposite this gap.
