Method for lubricating slowly moving pistons in their cylinders and device for carrying out the method. The invention relates to a method for lubricating slowly moving pistons in their cylinders, with an axial oil flow between the piston and cylinder walls, in particular in hydraulic pressure converters for testing and calibration machines.
In order to achieve the lowest possible friction between piston and cylinder, it is known to bring about a relative movement between these components in such a way that the cylinder is given a rotating movement or a rotating sleeve is inserted into the cylinder while the piston does not rotate . It is also known to rotate the piston when the cylinder is stationary, that is to say not rotating, in order to reduce friction.
However, such rotational movements between the piston and cylinder have the disadvantage that they usually also produce forces acting in the longitudinal direction, which lead to a falsification of the measurement results. Thus, such longitudinal forces can arise in the cylinder or in the piston or in both of these components forming de rotary grooves. The cause of such disturbances is usually a not completely centric running of the piston or cylinder or of these two components.
If there is a wobbling movement between these two mentioned parts, then there will be a periodic movement of the oil in the longitudinal direction of the cylinder, which results in a reduction in friction, but this oil movement will depend on the low frequency of the revolutions of the cylinder or the piston arises, in some way clearly measurable forces exerted on the piston in the longitudinal direction, which either falsify the measurement results or make it impossible to carry out measurements at all.
The object to be achieved with the invention is seen in the simple manner of increasing the oil flow prevailing in slowly moving pistons of the type mentioned at the beginning in order to reduce the friction between these parts. According to the invention, this object is achieved in that vibrations are superimposed on the already existing axial oil flow, which generate oil flows that alternately diverge and converge in this in both piston longitudinal directions in time with the vibrations.
This simultaneously and evenly diverging and collecting oil flow is to be understood in such a way that it has its maximum speed to the right at the same instant in which it also has its maximum speed to the left. This results in the essential advantage that the longitudinal forces cancel each other out completely and the measurements can no longer be influenced. ' The device for performing the method according to the invention is characterized in that
that at least one exciter which generates the vibrations extends evenly over the cylinder circumference and is located in a sectional plane lying at right angles to the cylinder longitudinal axis.
It can be provided with a coil having an annular body made of magnetostrictive material to generate the vibrations in the cylinder with advantage, the coil is to be connected to high frequency alternating current. There is thus a periodic displacement and sucking back of the oil that is located between these components anyway at these points of the piston and cylinder.
It is then with the inventive method and the proposed device for its implementation - possible to achieve any increase in the oil speed and a corresponding reduction in the friction between the piston and the cylinder wall: In the drawing, the inventive device is in two embodiments illustrated in schematic diagrams, namely shows:
Fig. 1 is a device working with a pulsator, Fig. 2 is a device with four separate Ölquel sources and Fig. 3 is a modification acting on the magnetostrictive effect.
1 and 2, 1 denotes the cylinder of a pressure booster; while the piston that works with this is named 2.
In the embodiment according to FIG. 1, the wall of the cylinder 1 is provided with an annular chamber 3, which via a bore 4 or more bores and a line 5 or several lines with a separate, known, piston 6, eccentric 7 and Cylinder 8 existing pulsator for generating a periodically changing pressure are connected. The inner wall of the chamber 3, which is adjacent to the outer wall of the piston 2, is designated with 9.
This wall 9 presses itself periodically stronger against the wall of the piston 2 in the rhythm of the pressure fluctuations emanating from the pulsator 6, 7, 8, which means a reduction in the oil clearance between piston 2 and cylinder 1 and an oil flow in the direction of the arrow 10 causes.
In. in the same way, a corresponding periodic removal of the inner wall 9 from the lateral surface of the piston 2 will cause an oil flow in the direction of the arrow 11. The two oil flows are therefore directed from a center to both sides according to the directions of arrows 10 and 11, so that there is no unilateral force reduction on piston 2 and falsifications of the measurement result are no longer possible.
The embodiment according to FIG. 3 makes use of the magnetostrictive effect to produce a periodic change in the oil clearance.
In this case, a ring 14 made of a material is brought into contact with the cylinder wall 13 in the cylinder body 1 which contracts when current flows through a coil 15 embedded in this ring material, but opens when the current flow ceases due to its elasticity expands the initial value again.
If now an alternating current is sent through this coil 15, the same effect of the changing oil clearance of the oil flows is achieved, with these solutions particularly high frequencies being achieved in a simple manner. are achieved.
The two embodiments of FIGS. 1 and 3 each show a chamber 3 or an elastic ring's 14 on the length of the cylinder. However, it is also possible, depending on the structural conditions, to accommodate several of these chambers or elastic rings along the cylinder extension in the cylinder wall.
In the embodiment according to FIG. 2, the piston 16 and the cylinder 17 of a pressure converter are shown in section, the cylinder having bores 18 evenly distributed on its circumference, of which one line 19, 20, 21, 22 each to one designed as a pulsator oil source 23, 24, 25, 26 leads. These pulsators run in phase and who are driven by a common shaft 27.
It is also possible to provide three bores of this type, each offset from one another by 120 to one another, in the cylinder 17 in order to prevent the piston from being able to rest on one side and thus one or the other of the bores to be blocked. As a result of the pressure being applied so evenly to the piston, it always remains in the central position and the even oil clearance on the cylinder circumference is also maintained, so that the oil flow according to the invention can develop freely in its periodic change.
As in this exemplary embodiment, a pulsator is used for each borehole, an oil source can also be provided for each borehole group. The illustration according to FIG. 2 also shows
that the individual starting points evenly distributed around the cylinder circumference for the periodically changing oil flows are in a plane perpendicular to the cylinder longitudinal axis and are reproduced by the individual junctions of the bores 18 in the common contact surface between piston 16 and cylinder 17.
