Detachable connection for two drainpipes made of plastic The present invention relates to a detachable connection for two drainpipes made of plastic, of which the second can be plugged into the first and the first is provided with an external thread and a nut screwed onto it has an inner conical surface which serves to press the end section of the first tube radially inwards and thus against the inserted second tube when screwing it tight.
In the known connections of this type, which are used for example for siphons and everywhere where the pipes to be connected do not have to move axially against each other, care must be taken that the inner surface of the first pipe end is very precisely machined so that it can make good contact with the inserted second tube. However, if there are any foreign objects between the two tubes such as B. grains of sand or if one of the pipe ends is not completely smooth, but somewhat damaged, the connection is leaky and can only be completely sealed in the rarest of cases by tightening the nut.
The connection according to the present invention does not have this disadvantage, since it is characterized by a support edge arranged at the end of the first tube on the inside of the tube, to which a recess also extends all around on the side facing away from the tube end. Appropriately, the pipe section having the recess has a smaller wall thickness than the pipe section adjoining the sen and provided with the external thread.
An exemplary embodiment of the invention is described below with reference to a drawing. The drawing shows two detachably interconnected drainage pipes made of plastic, partly in view and partly in section. The first tube is labeled 1 and the second tube, which is inserted into a corresponding extension in the first tube, is labeled 2. The first tube is provided at its upper end with an external thread 3 onto which a nut 4 is screwed. This nut has an inner conical surface 4a, which serves to press the end portion la of the first tube 1 radially inward and thus against the inserted second tube 2 when screwing in.
As can be seen, this end section la on the inside of the pipe has a support edge 1b running all the way around, to which, on the side facing away from the pipe end, a recess 1c that also runs all around connects. The pipe section with the recess 1c consequently has a smaller wall thickness than the adjoining section provided with the external thread 3,
so that when the nut 4 is tightened, the end provided with the support edge 1b can be pressed against the inserted tube 2 in a fe-changing manner. The recess 1c is not only and in any case not primarily used to ensure a spring effect, but rather to ensure that no capillary action can occur at the end of the tube 1 between this tube and the tube 2 inserted into it,
as is the case with all known detachable connections of plastic pipes in which the cylindrical surfaces are pressed onto one another.
