Machine Tool Grinding Device Multi-purpose machine tools, such as universal lathes, can be equipped with a grinding wheel. This is generally mounted on the trolley and allows you to grind a part held in the headstock of the lathe.
We know various tools for grinding wheels. They usually consist of a diamond or agglomerate of diamond chips attached to the end of a shank. The user manually brings this tool to the grinding wheel to modify the shape of the latter. This procedure is quick but does not allow you to perform a retouch with precision.
The object of the present invention overcomes this drawback. It is characterized by a support which is removably fixed to the frame of said machine and having a vertical shaft on which can smooth a sleeve traversed by a spindle carrying at its end the grinding tool, said sleeve being provided with a on the one hand, locking means on the shaft and, on the other hand, means for moving and locking said tool-holder spindle, so that, by displacements of the sleeve and of the spindle, the tool grinding is brought into the working field of the grinding wheel.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the subject of the present invention.
Fig. 1 is a side view, FIG. 2 from the front, and FIG. 3, over.
This embodiment comprises a support 1 integral with a vertical shaft 2. A screw 3 freely passing through the support 1 has a flat head 2 and cooperates with a nut 5 to ensure the clamping on the frame 6 of the machine.
A sleeve 7 is fitted to slide on the vertical shaft 2. It can be blocked on this shaft by the screw 8 or can still rotate freely around this shaft by resting on the ring 9 immobilized by the screw 10.
The sleeve 7 has a projection 7a in the form of a cylinder with a horizontal axis in a bore of which slides the spindle 11 carrying the grinding tool 12. This is made up of a diamond or an agglomerate of small shards of diamonds. The spindle 11 has, housed in a longitudinal groove, a rack 13 cooperating with a pinion mounted at the end of the shaft 14 integral with the control button 15. A screw 16 serves to immobilize the spindle 11 in the bore of the cylinder 7a. .
Thus this device is fixed by its support 1, by the screw 3, 4 and by the nut 5 on the part 6 of the machine. The tool 12 is then brought into the working field of the grinding wheel by displacement and rotation of the sleeve 7 and by displacement of the spindle 11. The sleeve and the spindle are then immobilized. by locking the screws. The grinding wheel can then be advanced so that it comes into contact with the grinding tool 12. A division 17 disposed on the edge of the sleeve 7 and a mark on the shaft 2, as well as the rack-and-pinion control of the spindle movements, allow the position of the tool to be precisely adjusted with respect to the grinding wheel. thereby facilitating the rectification operation.
