Contact piece, especially for a plug contact The design of the contact pieces, especially a plug contact, is of great importance because of their heating, which must not exceed a certain level, and to counteract the naturally growing corrosion.
In Iden be known plug-in contacts, the contact pieces only touch a few, almost punctiform surfaces, so that the current transfer points only allow a current load in relation to the total cross-section of the contact pieces that represents a fraction of the permissible cross-sectional load.
The present invention enables a much higher allowable current load of the con tact pieces with significantly lower contact resistance and the resulting reduced heating. It also offers extensive protection against corrosion and has excellent self-cleaning properties. These advantages are achieved by using a metal brush-like element as a contact material.
Each metal bristle appropriately forms a contact spring, so that a very large number of current transitions per surface unit can be achieved.
This fact is used in the present invention.
In the description, a metal brush-like element is used to denote a brush, before it has flexible bristles made of metal wires or metal threads that protrude from a metal base strip.
The invention relates to a contact piece, in particular special for a plug contact, which is characterized in that it has a metal brush-like element as a contact element.
Embodiments of the invention will now be explained in more detail with reference to the drawing.
1 shows a contact piece for a cylindrical contact pin with a resilient pre-contact, Fig. 2 shows a contact piece for a flat contact pin with a resilient pre-contact.
The contact piece according to FIG. 1 has a zy-cylindrical, provided with at least one slot metal sleeve 1, the narrower opening 2 serves as a front contact. A tubular, inwardly directed metal brush-like element is provided in the sleeve in such a way that the metal base strip 4 lies on the inner wall of the metal sleeve 1. The metal bristles 5 project, for example, with half their length over the narrower C opening 2.
A connecting bolt 6 carries the metal sleeve 1 and is pressed into an insulating body 7. A contact pin 8 has a diameter such that it forms a narrow sound seat with the narrower opening 2. When the contact pin 8 is inserted into the contact sleeve up to the stop, it passes the metal bristles after the preliminary contact 2 i, which
snuggle up to this contact pin.
The contact piece according to FIG. 2 is designed in an H-shape. A metal bracket 10 is provided at its unte rem end with stamped and bent brackets 11, the number of which depends on: the dimensions of this bracket.
In addition to holding and advertising the metal base strip 12 of a metal brush-like element 13, these clamps serve as a preliminary contact. The leg 15 of a cranked metal bracket 14 is slotted at least once in its entire length and slightly bent, so .that it forms a spring. This leg is used to promote and guide a flat contact piece 16.
The Metallgrundstresfen 12 is riveted between the brackets 10 and 14 and continued up to the connection terminal 17. The parts put together in this way are surrounded by an insulating body 19. The metal bristles 18 protrude beyond the clamps 11 for example with half their length. If the flat contact 16 passes the clips 11 when it is being inserted and continued, it encounters the metal bristles 18, which then cling to this contact pin.
The metal brush-like element can optionally consist of combinations of copper and its alloys for the metal base strip and the bristles, and also of those made of noble metals. By remuneration of the metal bristles and the application of precious metal layers, very advantageous properties can be achieved.
Practical tests have shown that it is possible, please include to produce metal brush-like elements with a very large number of bristles per unit area. The density will always be much lower than when using metal velvet as a contact material. In certain applications, the metal brush-like element will have its advantages.
The use of such metal brush-like contact elements ensure excellent protection against corrosion, good self-cleaning properties and a long service life for the contacts.
