Swivel screw connection The present invention relates to a swivel screw connection which is suitable for producing a direction-adjustable connection between a conduit pipe and a machine part.
The purpose of the present invention is to create a swivel screw joint which not only enables a throttle-free connection, but which also has external dimensions of the components that allow the connection to be made even in tight spaces.
The swivel screw connection according to the invention is characterized by a nipple intended for screwing to the machine part, with which a rotatable connecting piece is in engagement, secured in the axial direction by a snap ring.
The connecting piece can either be part of an angle or T-piece or it can be a threaded sleeve z. B. act in the form of a union nut, which is used to attach an angle or T-piece to the nipple, and due to the rotatability of the connecting piece relative to the nipple, it is possible to secure in all pivoting directions.
Several exemplary embodiments of the swivel screw connection according to the invention are shown in the drawing. 1 shows a first embodiment connected to a fitting, FIG. 2 shows a second embodiment, FIG. 3 shows a third embodiment of the swivel screw connection and FIG. 4 shows a detail in section on an enlarged scale.
The swivel screw connection shown in FIG. 1 has a nipple 1 which is screwed into a machine part 3 with a conical external thread 2. The nipple 1 has a through-hole 4, which is widened at its upper end to form an inner hexagon 5. The hexagon socket is used to screw in and tighten the nipple 1 in the machine part 3.
In the protruding part of the nipple 1, a circumferential groove 6 is incorporated, which is designed to accommodate a snap ring 7 within the nipple diameter and on the top of which a further circumferential groove 8 connects (Fig. 4), the depth of which is less than the wire thickness of the snap ring . The snap ring 7 engages in an inner groove 9 in a union nut 10 which is rotatably mounted on the nipple 1 and secures it against axial displacement upwards.
while the downward displacement (in the unscrewed state) is limited by the width of the two grooves 6 and 8.
The union nut 10 is used to attach a fitting, for. B. of the elbow 11 on the nipple 1 by means of the external thread 12 provided on the elbow.
Due to the rotatability of the nut 10 relative to the nipple adjustment or Festklem men of the elbow with respect to the exit direction in the full range of 360 is possible.
In the game Ausführungsbei shown in Fig. 2, the nipple 21 is provided with a cylindrical recess 22 from within a shoulder piece provided with an external hexagon 23, the through hole 24 opening into the recess.
In the recess 22 protrudes a connecting sleeve 25 which is rotatable relative to the nipple 21, but is secured by a snap ring 26 against displacement environment. The connecting sleeve 25 contains an axial bore 27 which merges into a hexagon socket 28. On the part protruding over the nipple 21, the connecting sleeve has an external thread 29.
By means of this thread, an outer sleeve 30 is connected to the nipple 21, an O-ring 32 being arranged between the facing end faces of the outer sleeve 30 and shoulder piece 23, which enables the production of a liquid-tight connection when the connec tion sleeve 29 is tightened in the predetermined pivot position the outer sleeve 30 allowed. The outer sleeve 30 has an externally threaded connector 31 for connecting a pipe by means of a coupling 37 indicated by outlines. A cover 34 provided with a hexagon socket 33 is screwed into the outer sleeve 30 from the top, which tightly closes the inner space 35 of the Outer sleeve permitted.
For this purpose, an O-ring 36 is inserted into the cover 34. It is obvious that the outlet direction of the connecting piece 31 can be set according to the requirements, with a change in the outlet direction taking place completely independently of the screw-in depth of the nipple 21. The assembly of the cover 34 takes place, of course, only after the outer sleeve is clamped by means of the connecting sleeve 25 in the intended connector direction.
The embodiment shown in FIG. 3 is similar to that of FIG. 2 in that it is used again around an outer sleeve. This outer sleeve, which is denoted by 40, is not based on a part of the nipple 41 that is screwed into the machine part 42, but rather on the machine part itself. The tensioning of the outer sleeve in the predetermined outlet position is achieved in that by screwing the nipple into the nipple bore 43 of the machine part 42, which is provided with a cylindrical internal thread, the sealing edge 44 on the underside of the outer sleeve 40 is pressed against the machine part 42.
The power transmission from the nipple 41 to the outer sleeve 40 takes place in turn through a snap ring 45, which secures the outer sleeve 40 on the nipple 41 in the axial direction, but in the unrestrained state ensures a rotation of this outer sleeve relative to the nipple 41 in the axial direction, however, in the unstressed state, this outer sleeve can be rotated relative to the nipple and thus the outlet direction of the connecting piece 46 can be changed. The interior 47 of the sleeve 40 is in turn closed by a cover 48 and an O-ring 49 sealingly abge.
From the foregoing it can be seen that through the rotatable connection of the nipple with a connecting piece that takes place via a snap ring, which in the embodiment according to FIG. 3 is formed by the outer sleeve 40, the directional adjustability of the swivel screw connection by 360 is made possible independently of the screwing position of the nipple itself.
From the drawing it can be seen that, despite ge crowded dimensions of the swivel screw connection according to the illustrated embodiments, a throttle-free connection is achieved in all cases.
