1 (Overfill protection for liquid containers The invention relates to an overfill protection for liquid containers with a float-operated closing flap.
Such overfill protection are preferably in the filling pipe of the liquid container, for. B. an oil tank, a petrol tank, etc. appropriate.
Known @ overfill protection of this type have the disadvantage that the filling line often bursts shortly before closing due to a sudden back pressure, especially if this line is made of a plastic.
The overfill protection according to the invention is characterized in that a float-operated throttle valve is also provided after the closing valve. This throttle valve prevents dangerous back pressure.
The drawing shows three exemplary embodiments of the overfill protection according to the invention.
Fig. 1 is a partially sectioned side view of the first example, Fig. 2 is a horizontal section through this first example, Fig. 3 is a vertical section through the second, and Fig. 4 is a vertical section through the third Ausfüh approximately form.
A further housing 2 adjoins the inlet connection 1 for connecting the filler line (not shown) and an outlet connection 4 opening into the liquid container space 3 adjoins this.
According to FIGS. 1 and 2, the halves 7 of the closing flap and the halves 8 of the throttle valve located under the closing flap are fastened to axles 5 and 6 rotatably mounted in the wall of the housing 2. The bores in the wall of the housing 2 pierced by the axes 5 and 6 are closed off from the outside in a liquid-tight manner by seals 9, shown schematically.
On the axis 6 of one half 7 of the closing flap (left in FIG. 1), an arm 10 is fastened outside the housing 2, e.g. B. welded, which carries a float 11. Each axle 5 also carries a toothed segment 12 outside the housing 2.
These toothed segments 12 mesh with one another, and when the axle 5 carrying the float 11 with its flap half 7 is moved by the latter, it transmits its movement by means of the toothed segments 12 to the other axle 5 with the second flap half 7 (right in Fig. 1). .
In a corresponding manner sit on .den axes 6 of the throttle valve interlocking Zahnseg elements 13 and only on one axis 6 (right in Fig. 1) a float 15 is fixed by means of an arm 14.
If liquid is now pumped through the nozzle 1 into the container space 3 by means of a pump, the closing flap 7, 7 and the throttle valve 8, 8 are initially in their fully open position.
The rising liq sigkeitsspiegel 16 first reaches the float 15 of the throttle valve 8, 8 and begins this by lifting ben: the float to close until the vertical edges 17 of their halves 8 hit the inner wall of the housing 2 and .die throttle valve only Minimum opening 18 for the passage of the liquid to space 3 leaves. The inflowing liquid per unit of time is therefore smaller and the liquid level rises more slowly,
so that a sudden backlog when the closing flap is completely closed is avoided. The liquid level reaches and after a while lifts the float 11 and this begins to close the closing flap 7, 7. From a certain inclination of the flap halves 7 on, the liquid pressure generated by the pump pushes the closing flap completely and lifts the float 11 slightly from the liquid level.
If the pump is then switched off, the float 11 falls back to the liquid level and in doing so opens the closing flap a little so that the filling line can empty into the space 3 without actuating a previously usual lever.
The embodiment according to FIG. 3 differs from the first example only in that the closing flap 7 and the throttle valve 8 are each in one piece and the floats 11 and. 15 lie on the same side of the housing 2. The closing flap 7 is, as in Fig. 1:
in the fully open position and the throttle valve 8 also leaves only the minimum opening 18 free. The mode of operation is basically the same as in FIGS. 1 and 2. This embodiment has the advantage that toothed segments are omitted and only two axes 5 and 6 are necessary.
The example in FIG. 4 differs from that in FIG. 3 only in that special support bodies 19 and 20 are provided for the closing flap 7 and the throttle valve 8. These support bodies are tubular parts with inclined surfaces 21 and 22 on which the flaps 7 and 8 rest in their closed position. The functionality is otherwise the same as in the previous examples.
