Handrail drive for escalators and travel ramps The invention relates to a handrail drive for escalators and travel ramps, which makes it possible to train the balustrade cladding surface trans parent.
The previous drive devices for the handrails of escalators are arranged in the balustrade and are covered by their cladding surfaces against view. The cladding surfaces are opaque for this purpose, so that the escalator has a shaft-like appearance and cannot be harmoniously integrated into the room architecture. The cladding of the balustrade with reflective visible surfaces could hardly remedy this problem. In addition, tensioning devices are required for the proper guidance of a handrail, which stress it to alternate bending and thus contribute to faster wear.
These disadvantages and shortcomings of the previous handrail drives can be eliminated according to the invention by a plurality of friction rollers arranged in series, which work in pairs on both sides of the handrail to drive the handrail synchronously with the travel speed of the stairs or ramp. Of the pairs of rollers, one roller can be designed as a counter pressure roller to generate the friction pressure required to move the handrail under adjustable pressure, the drive rollers being driven by a roller chain from the main drive shaft or from the deflection shaft.
In the drawing, the essence of the invention is on. Hand of an embodiment is presented.
Fig. 1 shows the balustrade of an escalator with inventive drive of the handrail is a schematic. Fig. 2 also shows. schematically a drive assembly according to the invention for the handrail and Fig. 3 shows another embodiment of the drive assembly according to the invention.
4 shows a section through a pair of rollers of the drive unit with a non-driven counter-pressure roller, and FIG. 5 shows a section through a pair of rollers with a driven counter-pressure roller in the drive unit.
FIG. 6 shows a section through a pair of rollers of a drive device according to FIG. 3, and FIG. 7 shows a cross section through the deflection arch of a handrail as shown in FIG. As stated at the outset and shown in FIG. 1 Darge, the handrail 12 is driven according to the invention via a friction roller unit 1.
In one embodiment, the friction roller unit 1 consists of a plurality of friction rollers arranged in series, which cooperate in pairs on both sides of the handrail and of which at least several are driven synchronously. These drive wheels can be driven by means of a roller chain 3 and a tensioning wheel 5 from the lower deflection shaft 2 or from the upper main drive shaft.
In Fig. 1 the drive takes place through .die lower steering shaft 2, and in the upper end area of the escalator 12 guide rollers 6 are arranged to guide the handrail. The other drive of the roller unit 1 through the main drive shaft located in the upper area is not shown because the ratios are analogous to those shown, only that the drive unit 1 with the drive shaft 2 in the upper and the guide rollers 6 in the lower stairs are rich .
The drive unit 1 together with the drive device 2, 3, 5 and the guide rollers 6 are accommodated in the lateral escalator cladding 4 and are therefore invisible.
The handrail 12 is deflected as usual in a relatively large arc at the lower reversal point 14 and at the upper reversal point 15. In these reversal points 14 and 15, the handrail 12 is pressed quite strongly against the handrail guide, so that at these points a strong friction occurs. Since the handrail drive is carried out via friction wheels, precautions must be taken to keep the friction as low as possible at this point. According to the invention, this is done by a series of small friction rollers 16, which are designed as guide rollers so small that they are completely covered by the side profiles of the handrail.
In this way, other bending points in the guide of the handrail are designed.
Since in this way the previously usual large handrail deflection wheels at the reversing points 14 and 15 are no longer necessary and the drive for the handrail is placed in the staircase cladding, it is no longer necessary to make the balustrade cladding visually impervious, it can now be much more transparent or transparent material, and it is possible to illuminate the balustrade from the inside, so that the escalator can be made light and bright and can be adapted to any modern interior design.
Figs. 2 to 7 represent technical execution forms of the drive unit and other parts.
Fig. 2 shows a simple friction roller assembly that is sufficient for shorter escalators. On both sides of the handrail 12 is a row of friction rollers 8 and 8a arranged in pairs so that the rollers 8, 8a of each pair of rollers are under pressure when the handrail 12 is between them. To drive a roller chain 3 is placed around all the drive wheels of the friction rollers 8, 8a in the meandering manner, which is driven by pulleys 5 from the drive shaft. The drive must be stepped up or stepped down so far that the friction rollers 8, 8a drive the handrail 12 synchronously with the escalator speed.
The distance between a roller 8 and its counter roller must be set in such a way that the friction is not only sufficient to drive the handrail, but also that additional loads caused by the passengers when stopping are taken into account. On the other hand, the pressure must not be so great that the handrail made of elastic material is stressed too much and is subject to excessive wear. The more friction roller pairs are provided, the easier they can be. Satisfy conditions.
Nevertheless, especially in the case of large systems, it would be difficult to optimally design the distance between the friction rollers from the outset, since the material of the handrail itself also works.
A drive unit with adjustable friction between the handrail and drive wheels is shown schematically in FIG. In each pair of rollers, one drive roller is replaced by a non-driven counter-pressure roller 11, with the drive roller 8 and counter-roller 11 alternating on each handrail side. The drive rollers 8 can in turn be driven synchronously by means of a roller chain 3.
The counterpressure rollers 11 are resiliently mounted, the pressure of each counterpressure roller 11 by means of an adjusting device 13 can be precisely regulated according to the local conditions, whereby a uniform pulling force on the handrail is achieved.
4, 5 and 6, practical embodiments of the drive unit according to the invention are shown in section.
Fig. 4 and 5 shows in section the arrangement and assembly of a pair of rollers from a drive unit to roll with non-driven counter pressure.
Drive wheels 8 are rotatably arranged on a mounting plate and each drive wheel 8 is rigidly connected to a roller drive wheel 7, in the teeth of which the roller chain 3 engages. The counterpressure roller 11 is rotatably attached to a carrier part 10 which slides in a guide attached to the mounting plate 10a. A spring 9 arranged between the support part 10 and a nose on the mounting plate can be adjusted in its tension by a screw 13 and presses the support part 10 with the counter-pressure roller 11 in the guide 10a in the direction of the drive wheel B. Between the two wheel disks 8 and 11 runs the handrail 12.
The circumferential surface of the two wheel disks can be profiled or covered with a non-slip plastic, so that together with the pressure of the counter pressure roller to drive the handrail 12 there is sufficient friction.
Fig. 6 shows the section through a pair of rollers whose two wheels 8 and 8a are driven who the. The one drive wheel 8a can act as a counterpressure wheel in turn be mounted displaceable bar in a guide and pressed against the other wheel 8 by spring pressure.
The devices regulating the pressure of the counter roller do not have to be springs, as shown; any other appropriate device can be used, such as B. a device with counterweights.
Finally, FIG. 7 shows, in section, the guidance of the handrail 12 in the deflection bends 14 and 15 (FIG. 1). The pulleys 16 are laterally covered by the profile of the handrail and the Rol len 16 easily rotatable, so that, as already mentioned, the strong friction at these points is eliminated as much as possible and the drive of the handrail is largely relieved.
The handrail drive according to the invention eliminates the deficiencies of the previous drives listed at the beginning and the ballustrade surface that is kept free gives the possibility of closing this effectively and appropriately.
