11 eingreifen. Jede Nuss 10 bzw.
Lock for gates, in particular garage doors The invention relates to a lock for gates, in particular garage doors with a vertical and horizontal axis of rotation, with two sliding plates which lock the door in the closed position and which can be actuated by means of a rotary handle. Its purpose is to create a lock that is suitable for both right-hand and left-hand swing gates and up-and-over gates.
According to the invention, the rotary handle can be used in two different ver, the sliding plates actuating nuts that push the sliding plates in their blocking position in opposite directions of rotation.
An exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown in the drawing. The two figures show views of the lock with the cover plate lifted in the fully open position and in the locked position of the sliding plates.
In a sheet metal box 1, the lid of which is omitted in the drawing, two sliding plates 2, 3 are arranged, which open out in a known manner in rods 4, 5, which are passed through slots in the narrow sides of the box 1. The rods 4, 5 have the task of engaging in their locking position in recesses or brackets of the goal frame. The sliding plate 2 has fork-shaped parts 2a and 2b, the outer sides of which bear against the box walls, whereby a good guidance of the sliding plate is achieved. On the insides of the fork-shaped parts 2a, 2b, two recesses 6 and 7 are arranged, in which corresponding cams or teeth 8 and 9 of nuts 10 and 11 respectively engage. Each nut 10 resp.
11 is rotatably mounted in a known manner in the rear wall and in the lid of the box 1 and contains a square hole into which the square mandrel of the rotary handle can be inserted. The sliding plate 3 is not formed like a fork. It rests on one side against the longitudinal wall of the box 1 and contains two recesses 12 into which two cams 13 of the nut 10 engage. A leaf spring, which cooperates with bolts 15 attached to the cam 8, ensures that the lock engages in the two end positions.
A locking tumbler 16 is also pivotably arranged on a bolt 15a. This has a bent tab 17 which engages in the locking position in a recess 18 of the part 2a of the sliding plate. A spring 19, which is supported on the one hand on the bolt 15a and on the other hand on the box wall, presses on a bent tab 20 of the locking tumbler 16 so that it always snaps into the recess when the sliding plates are moved into the blocking position.
Furthermore, a so-called cylinder nut 21 is rotatably mounted in the housing. It is actuated by the tongue-shaped part of the rotor of a cylinder lock, which engages in one of the slots 22 arranged crosswise. The cylinder lock is not shown. It is installed in a known manner in the wall of the garage gate, while the box 1 is screwed on the inside of the gate.
The mode of operation of the lock is as follows: For a door that can be pivoted to the left or tilted about a horizontal axis, the lock is fastened to the door in such a way that the square of the rotary handle engages in the socket 10. By turning the handle with the nut 10 to the right, the sliding plates 2, 3 are moved into the blocking position shown in FIG. 2, whereby the gate is blocked in the closed position.
If the cylinder soot 21 is in the position shown in FIG. 2, it prevents the locking tumbler 16 from engaging in the recess 18. The lock can thus be unlocked by turning the handle to the left with the nut 10, ie. H. be returned to the position of FIG.
However, if the cylinder soot 21 is in the position shown in FIG. 1, the locking tumbler 16 can engage in the recess 18. The twist grip can then no longer be actuated until the cylinder lock is operated by means of the key, the rotor of which turns the cylinder soot back into the position according to FIG. 2, in which the locking tumbler is unlocked.
So that one cannot inadvertently lock oneself in the garage, a flap protruding from the lock box is expediently attached in a known manner to the locking tumbler 16, with which the locking tumbler can be unlocked from the inside of the garage so that the twist grip can be operated again.
If the lock is provided for a gate wing that can be swiveled to the right, it is fastened in such a way that the rotary handle engages the socket 11. In this case, the lock is locked by turning the rotary handle to the left. The closure can therefore be used for all possible types of installation without modification.
