Rotatable clamping table for circular milling, drilling and thread cutting and similar work The invention relates to a rotatable clamping table for circular milling, drilling, thread cutting and similar work.
Its purpose is to create a work table that can be used for normal circular milling and similar operations, but on which drilling and thread cutting work can also be carried out with the same ease.
The clamping table according to the invention is characterized by a turntable attached to a base, which is provided with a turning of the table causing the drive devices as well as with removable transmission devices, which 'latter cause a simultaneous axial movement with the rotary movement.
The drawing shows an example of the subject matter of the invention.
1 shows a top view of a rotatable clamping table, FIG. 2 shows a side view of the table according to FIG. 1, FIG. 3 shows an enlarged longitudinal section along the line 3-3 of FIGS. 1 and 4, FIG. 4 shows an enlarged cross-section along line 4-4 in FIG. 3, and FIG. 5 shows an enlarged detailed section along line 5-5 in FIG. 4.
The machine described as an exemplary embodiment shows a turntable with a cylindrical base 10 with a carefully machined bottom surface 11, which is adapted to the surface 12 of the work table 13 of a machine tool. The base is provided with the usual slotted clamping lugs 14 in order to firmly connect it to the machine tool table 13.
A main bearing bush 15 is firmly inserted into a bore 16 of the base 10. The bore 17 of this socket serves as a bearing for the main spindle 19 verse with flange 20, to which the face plate or the turntable 21 is attached by suitable screws 22. An upper main bearing 23 is located in the bore 24 of an upper cover plate 25 which is fastened to the base 10 by means of screws 26.
The upper main bearing has a bore 27 which serves as a bearing for the upper cylindrical part 18 of the main spindle 19, and a radially arranged bearing surface 28 which supports the underside 29 of the flange 20 in such a way that the pressure load of the rotary table 21 is absorbed. A worm wheel 30 with drilling 31 is slidably disposed on the cylindrical part 18 of the main spindle 19 and secured against axial movement in relation to the base 10 by means of abutment surfaces 32 and 33 of the main bearings 15 and 23 acting on the sides 34 of the worm wheel.
A wedge 35 fastened in the bore 31 of the worm wheel 30 slidably engages in a keyway 36 provided in the bearing part 18 of the main spindle 19. A stop pin 37 is fixed in the keyway of the main spindle 19 to limit the upward movement of the main spindle 19 within the main bearing bushes 15 and 23.
A worm 38 in engagement with the worm wheel 30 is attached to a drive shaft 39 by a suitable bolt 40, the drive shaft being mounted in bearing bores 41 and 42 of an eccentric bushing 43. The worm 38 and the drive shaft 39 are secured against axial movement because the end faces 44 and 45 of the worm come into contact with the end faces 46 and 47 of the slot 48 provided for the worm within the eccentric bushing 43. From the senfläche 49 of the eccentric bushing 43 has an axis 50 eccentric to the axis 51 of the drive shaft.
The socket 43 is mounted in the Boh tion 52 of the base 10. An actuating lever 53 with a handle 54 and a hub 55 is attached to the bushing 43 by a suitable retaining pin 56a and enables the worm and worm wheel 30 to be brought into and out of engagement by reciprocating the bushing. A handwheel 56 is attached to the worm gear drive shaft by a suitable retaining pin 57a.
A lead screw sleeve 58 is slidably mounted in the bore 57 of the main spindle 19 and has a flat 59 on its flange 60 with which a flat surface 61 of a wedge 62 engages, the wedge 62 in a groove 63 within the top of the flange 20 of the main spindle 19 is fastened to prevent the bushing 58 from rotating in the opposite direction to the main spindle 19.
The socket 58 has on its flange 60 a radially arranged abutment surface 65 which rests on the bottom 66 of a cylindrical recess 67 which is arranged in the end face 64 of the flange 20 concentrically to the axis of rotation 67 of the main spindle 19 and to the bore 57. A plug 68 is inserted with its cylindrical part 69 so that it can slide into the bore 70 of the turntable 21 and is fastened to it by means of screws 71. A lower abutment surface 72 rests against the surface 73 of the flange 60 to thereby hold the bushing 58 in the main spindle 19 within the bore 57.
The bushing 58 contains in its bore a thread 73 of the desired pitch which engages with the correspondingly threaded part 74 of the lead screw rod 75,
which is fastened to the upper surface 76 of the support bearing 77 by means of a clamping screw 78 and is held against rotational movement by a retaining pin 79 engaging in a groove 80 of the lead screw rod 75 on the support bearing 77. The support bearing 77 has a section 81 which fits into the bore 16 of the base 10 and is held there by screws 82. The lower support surface 83 corresponds to the surface 11 of the base 10 and, in the installed state, lies against the surface 12 of the machine tool table.
A locking device 84 is provided in order to secure the main spindle 19 against axial and rotary movements relative to the base 10. It is made up of a clamping ring 85, through the slot 86 of which a clamp bolt 87 passes and a clamping nut 88 with a suitable lever 89 is provided at the outer end.
Two opposite angeord designated screws 90, Fig. 5, in the direction of the diameter are screwed into the plate 25 that they are 90 spaced from the groove 86 and prevent axial movement of the clamping ring 85, but allow a limited radial movement, so that its bore surface 91 can be moved relative to the circumference 92 of the flange 20 of the main spindle 19 when the lever 89; is actuated.
The device works as follows: When the locking device 84 is released and the handwheel is turned so that the main spindle 19 and turntable 21 rotate, the lead screw sleeve 58 in conjunction with the lead screw rod 75 causes the turntable to perform a feed movement in the axial direction Size is determined by the thread 74 selected for parts 58-75. The axial and rotational movement of the turntable is determined by the direction of rotation of the handwheel 56 and by whether the thread 74 is right or left-hand thread.
If an axial movement of the turntable 21 is not desired, but only a rotary movement, as is the case with a conventional turntable, the parts 58 and 75 are removed after loosening the screw 78 via the access stoppers 68. The table can be locked against any displacement relative to the base 10 by the lever 89 is adjusted accordingly. Thus, circular milling, drilling and thread cutting work can easily be performed on workpieces clamped on the turntable 21 using this new device.
