Description

Trailer for flatbed utility vehicles Many people owning a flatbed utility vehicle and wishing to increase the capacity of said vehicle are obliged to subject it to so-called lengthening modifications, which are always delicate and expensive.

The present invention, which overcomes these drawbacks, relates to a trailer making it possible to transform a utility vehicle with a flatbed into a body vehicle of greater length, and therefore of great capacity.

This trailer is characterized in that it has a rear wheelset with a braking system and means for fixing it rigidly on the platform of a utility vehicle.

The trailer can have an additional axle located towards the middle of its length, making it possible to transform it into an articulated trailer called a caravane by mounting the wheels of its rear axle on its central axle.

The front of the body of the trailer may include a door communicating with the cabin of the vehicle.

When the trailer is bodyworked and fitted out for camping, or is used for a walking demonstration, it can be detached and pulled back when stationary in order to spare between the rear of the cabin and the front of the body. an open space that can be used for all purposes.

The present invention will be better understood from the description which will follow and with reference to the accompanying drawing by way of indicative but non-limiting example in which FIG. 1 shows a flatbed utility vehicle.

Fig. 2 shows a body trailer. Fig. 3 represents the vehicle provided with the trailer bodywork.

Fig. 4 is a perspective view of the chassis of the trailer.

Fig. 5 is a schematic longitudinal sectional view of the chassis of the trailer, the platform vehicle being shown in phantom.

Fig. 6 is a view similar to FIG. 3 but in which the trailer is moved back to leave a space between it and the rear of the cabin.

Referring to the drawings and according to one embodiment, the chassis of the trailer, consisting of customary profiled irons, comprises two side members 1 joined by cross members 2 and spacers 3.

This chassis comprises, at the rear, an axle provided with wheels 4 As in the example shown, the wheels of the vehicle V and of the trailer are hidden inside the body, uprights 5, in the shape of an inverted U, connected by side members 6, are made integral with side members 1 in order to form two cages open downwards in which the rear wheels of said vehicle V engage when the trailer is fixed on it, the body C being mounted on the branches 5 'of the uprights 5.

To hang the trailer on the vehicle V, its chassis is engaged on the platform P.

Tabs 7 and 8 secured respectively to the front cross member 2 'and to the cross member 2 "of the chassis of the trailer make it possible to rigidly assemble the latter and the vehicle V, by bolts and nuts for example.

Finally, the trailer is provided with standard brackets 9 ensuring its horizontality when it is uncoupled.
