EMI0001.0004
Process for the Preparation of Tetrazaporphin Series Dyes This invention relates to a process for the preparation of tetrazaporphin dyes of the formula
EMI0001.0004
where A is the residue of a tetrazaporphine, X is a divalent residue of the formula
EMI0001.0007
E is an aromatic radical containing up to two benzene nuclei, R is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl radical, m is an integer from 1 to 8, n is an integer from 0 to 4 and Z is an optionally substituted vinyl radical.
The new dyes are distinguished by the excellent lightfastness of the dyeings that can be obtained on textiles, in particular from native and / or regenerated cellulose.
The inventive method is characterized in that one tetrazaporphine derivatives of the formula
EMI0001.0018
with acylating agents which contain the remainder of an optionally substituted acrylic acid.
As acylating agents which contain the remainder of an optionally substituted acrylic acid, there may be mentioned, for example, acrylic acid chloride, a-methylacrylic acid chloride, a-chloroacrylic acid ester, maleic anhydride or acrylic anhydride; for the reaction with acylating agents which contain the remainder of the acrylic acid, the term acryloylation is used in the fol lowing.
The amino group-containing tetrazaporphin derivatives of the formula II are, for example, of tetraza tetrabenzoporphinen, z. B. from metal-free phthalocyanine or from iron, nickel, cobalt or aluminum phthalocyanine, in particular from copper phthalocyanine, or from substituted tetrazatetra benzoporphines, z.
B. low halogenated phthalocyanines, such as mono-, di- or tetrachloro copper phthalocyanine, alkylated or arylated phthalocyanines such as di-, tetra- or octaphenyl copper phthalocyanine, or benzoyl, phenoxy,
Phthalocyanines containing phenyl mercapto- or phenylsulfongrappen, e.g. B. tetrabenzoyl copper phthalocyanine, di- or tetraphenyl sulfone copper phthalocyanine derived. But also azaphthalocyanines, as z.
B. by co-condensation of phthalic acid and pyridine-2,3- or -3,4-dicarboxylic acid are accessible, as well as tetrazaporphine and tetrazabenzopor- phine, z.
B. tetramethyl, tetraphenyl or octa phenyl nickel or copper tetrazaporphine, tetra methyl or tetraphenyl tetrazadibenzoporphine, the tetrazaporphin compounds of formula II can be based. Such compounds can be obtained by reacting halomethyltetrazaporphins with aminohydroxyarylsulfonic acids. The dyes of formula 1 can be used, for.
B. in organic solvents, especially in water-miscible organic solvents and / or diluents, such as acetone, dioxane, glycol ethers or N-methylpyrrolidone. The most economical one works, however, in an aqueous solution, optionally with the addition of small amounts of a water-miscible organic solvent and / or diluent, eg. B. acetone.
The reaction can be carried out at temperatures between -20 and + 90 C, generally at the usual tempera ture or with cooling, preferably at temperatures between -5 and +10 C with a weakly acidic to weakly alkaline reaction of the reaction mixture. If necessary, the mixture can be heated to 40 to 60 ° C. towards the end of the reaction. To bind the hydrogen halide which may be released during the reaction, acid-binding agents such as sodium or potassium carbonate or bicarbonate or acetate, alkali phosphates or silicates or dilute aqueous alkali metal hydroxide solutions can be added. The, if necessary, z.
B. dyes separated by salting out and / or acidification and suction can be worked up in the usual manner; B. ge dried or dehydrated by treatment with organic means with.
The dyes available by the new process are in most cases soluble in neutral or alka cally reacting water and can be used for dyeing and / or printing structures of various types, eg. B. from wool and linear polyamides, find use. The dyeings and prints obtained have good all-round fastness properties, especially on Ge form from native and / or regenerated cellulose.
The parts given in the examples are parts by weight.
Example 1 A mixture of 50 parts of tetrakis-chloromethyl-copper phthalocyanine and 50 parts of 1-hydroxy-3-aminobenzene in 500 parts of sulfuric acid monohydrate are heated for several hours at approximately 100 ° C. until a sample is soluble in very dilute aqueous sodium hydroxide solution. Then 100 parts of a sulfuric acid containing 23% sulfur trioxide are added and the mixture is stirred for three to four hours at about 120 ° C.
The acidic reaction solution is discharged onto ice after cooling and the phthalocyanine derivative which has precipitated is filtered off with suction. It keeps about 300 parts of a slurry which, after adding ice, is neutralized with aqueous sodium hydroxide solution and mixed with 180 parts of crystallized sodium acetate. A solution of 60 parts of acrylic acid chloride in 200 parts of acetone is now gradually run in with stirring.
If necessary, the reaction mixture is neutralized by adding sodium carbonate. After stirring for several hours at normal temperature, the reaction material is separated off by adding potassium chloride, filtered off with suction and the filter is washed well with alcohol and acetone. The dye is air-dried and about 140 parts of a salty crude product are obtained. The new dye is very easily soluble in water and dyes cotton in greenish blue tones with very good fastness properties, especially excellent lightfastness.
Similar dyes are obtained if the corresponding derivatives of nickel phthalocyanine or tetrachloro copper phthalocyanine are used instead of the chloromethylated copper phthalocyanine. Also chloromethylated Azakupferphthalo- cyanine, which z. B. are obtainable by co-condensation of quinolinic acid and phthalic acid, can be used as starting compounds.
A water-soluble green dye is obtained in a similar way from tetrakischloromethyltetraphenyl copper phthalocyanine. Example 2 40 parts of the tetrazaporphine derivative, the production of which is explained in the third paragraph, are dissolved in 250 parts of water by adding such an amount of dilute aqueous sodium hydroxide solution that the solution reacts neutrally. 75 parts of crystallized sodium acetate and 200 parts of ice are then introduced into the solution.
125 parts of an acetone solution containing 25 parts of acrylic acid chloride are now allowed to flow in in small portions, while stirring, and the reaction mixture is neutralized by simultaneously adding a saturated sodium carbonate solution. After completion of the acrylic alloying, the reaction material is salted out and suctioned off. After drying, about 60 parts of a water-soluble blue dye are obtained which dyes textiles made of polycaprolactam from an acidic or acetic acid bath in turquoise-blue shades.
Instead of acrylic acid chloride, the corresponding amount of acrylic acid anhydride, α-methylacrylic acid chloride or α-chloroacrylic acid chloride can also be used for acylation.
The tetrazaporphine derivative used in the first paragraph is obtained by heating 40 parts of a mixture of tetrakis- and pentakis-chloromethyl-monochloro-copper phthalocyanine and 60 parts of 1-hydroxy-2-aminobenzene-4-sulfonic acid in 635 parts of a sulfonic acid for about 10 hours 100% sulfuric acid at 100-110'C in a yield of 65 parts.
Example 3 The copper phthalocyanine derivative obtained by reacting 50 parts of bis-chloromethyl copper phthalocyanine with 70 parts of 1-hydroxy-4-aminobenzene in sulfuric acid monohydrate at 100-105 ° C. is sulfonated by heating in a sulfuric acid containing 10 sulfur trioxide to 110 to 120 C.
The slurry obtained as filter material after the usual processing is then neutralized and, after addition of ice, stirred with a solution of 30 parts of acrylic acid chloride in 100 parts of acetone and a 10% strength sodium carbonate solution in small portions, the reaction mixture having a pH between 6 and 7.5 should have. After the reaction has ended, the reaction material is salted out, if necessary after adding a little aqueous hydrochloric acid, filtered off with suction and dried. About 13.5 parts of the dye are obtained in the form of a salty blue crude product.
The dye dyes tissue made of rayon in blue tones.
Similar dyes are obtained when starting from compounds which are obtained by reacting chloromethylated copper phthalocyanine with 1-amino-4-methoxy- or ethoxybenzene, 1-amino-3-hydroxy-6-methylbenzene or 2-amino-8-hydroxynaphthalene Instead of 1-hydroxy-4-aminobenzene are available.
