EMI0001.0010

1 Teilen ss- Phenoxypropionsäurechlorid in 40 Teilen Dimethyl- formamid in kleinen Anteilen eingetragen.

EMI0005.0001
Process for the preparation of water-soluble anthraquinone dyes It has been found that new valuable anthraquinone dyes are obtained if acylating agents which contain the remainder of the formula
EMI0001.0010
give off, where X stands for an oxygen or sulfur atom and R an alkyl radical, an aralkyl radical, a cycloalkyl radical,
means an aryl radical or a heterocyclic radical which is reacted with anthraquinone dyes which carry at least one water-solubilizing group and at least one acylatable amino group to give the acylamine compounds formed.
Particularly ionogenic water-solubilizing groups, such as carboxyl groups and especially sulfonic acid groups, may be mentioned as water-solubilizing groups.
Primary amino groups, but also secondary amino groups, are preferred as acylatable amino groups. Acylating agents which release the remainder of the formula I are, for example, the correspondingly substituted β-oxy- or β-thiopropionic acid halides, such as the chlorides or the bromides, or the correspondingly substituted β-oxy- or β-thiopropionic anhydrides.
The new dyes correspond to the formula
EMI0001.0048
where A stands for the radical of an anthraquinone dye carrying at least one water-solubilizing group, R 'stands for a hydrogen atom or an advantageously low molecular weight alkyl radical and n stands for an integer greater than or equal to 1, preferably one of the numbers 1 and 2 , stands.
The new dyes of the formula are of particular technical interest
EMI0001.0057
where Z is a cationic radical, for example a proton, an ammonium cation or an alkali metal cation, such as a sodium or a potassium cation, R1 is a low molecular weight straight-chain or branched alkyl radical, such as a methyl, ethyl, isopropyl or n- Butyl radical,
or represents an optionally substituted phenyl radical.
Anthraquinone dyes which have at least one, before geous up to three, water-solubilizing groups and which contain at least one, suitably up to two, primary and / or secondary amino groups are, for example, 1,5-diaminoanthraquinone-2-sulfonic acid, 1,4-diaminoanthraquinone -2-sulfonic acid, 1,4-diaminoanthraquinone-2,5- and -2,6-disulfonic acid, the reaction products of one mole each of 1-amino-4-bromoanthraquinone-2-sulfonic acid,
1-Amino-4-bromoanthraquinone 2-carboxylic acid or 1-amino-4-bromoanthraquinone-2,5 or
-2,6-disulfonic acid with one mole each of an aromatic diamine, such as 1,3- or 1,4-diaminobenzene, 1,3-diaminobenzene-4-sulfonic acid or 1,4-diaminobenzene-2-sulfonic acid, 2,5- Diaminobenzene-1,3-disulfonic acid, 4,4'-diaminodiphenylsulfide-2,2'-disulfonic acid, 4,4'-diaminostilbene-2,2'-disulfonic acid, 4,4'-diaminodiphenyl-2,2'-disulfonic acid, 4,4'-diaminodiphenylamine and 4,
4'-diaminodiphenyl-3-sulfonic acid or an aliphatic diamine such as ethylenediamine and propylenediamine.
Other starting dyes which can be considered for the process according to the invention are in various ways, for. B. by reacting one mole of leuco-1,4-diaminoanthraquinone, leuco-1,4-dihydroxyanthraquinone or perylenetetracarboxylic acid imide with two moles of an aromatic diaminosulfonic acid, such as 1,3- or 1,4-diaminobenzenesulfonic acid, 4,4 ' -Diaminodiphenyl-2-sulfonic acid or 4,4 'diaminodiphenyl-2,
2'-disulfonic acid or mixtures thereof are available.
The acylating agents which give off the remainder of the formula I can be derived from various β-oxy- or β-thiopropionic acids, for example from β-methoxypropionic acid, β-ethyl mercaptopropionic acid, ss- (4-chlorophenoxy) propionic acid, the ss-phenyl mercaptopropionic acid, fl-methyl mercaptopropionic acid, ss-phenoxypropionic acid, ss- (3- or 4-nitrophenoxy) -propionic acid, ss- (4-methylphenyl)
-mercaptopropionic acid,. ss- (4-methoxyphenyl) mercaptopropionic acid, ss- (4-methylphenoxy) propionic acid, ss-ethoxypropionic acid or ss- (4-nitrophenyl) mercaptopropionic acid. The acid chlorides or anhydrides obtainable from these carboxylic acids in the usual way are usually mixed with the aforementioned anthraquinone dyes in aqueous solution or slurry or in aqueous mixtures with organic solvents and / or diluents,
such as alcohols, for example methanol, ethanol, glycol; Ketones, e.g. acetone; Carboxamides, for example N, N-dimethylformamide or lactams, for example N-methylpyrrolides, at low, usual or slightly elevated temperature, advantageously in the presence of acid-binding agents such as sodium carbonate, sodium hydrogen carbonate, potassium carbonate, sodium acetate, potassium acetate, sodium hy - droxyd,
Potassium hydroxide, triethylamine and / or pyridine implemented.
The new dyes are used for dyeing and / or printing structures such as foils, films and textiles, e.g. B. fibers, threads, flakes, woven and knitted fabrics made of fiber-forming material of the most varied types, for example made of walle, silk, leather, synthetic linear polyamides or polyurethanes or made of paper can be used.
In particular, the dyes obtainable according to the invention are extremely well suited for dyeing and / or printing textiles made from native and / or regenerated cellulose. The methods customary for reactive dyes then give dyeings and prints with very good fastness properties, in particular excellent wet, light and rub fastness. The parts and percentages given in the examples are weight units unless otherwise specified. The parts of space relate to parts by weight like the kilogram to the liter under normal conditions.
Example 1 300 parts are added to a solution of 53.3 parts of the disodium salt of 1-amino-4- (3-sulfo-4-aminophenylamino) anthraquinone-2-sulfonic acid in 700 parts of water Given ice. 24.5 parts of β-methoxypropionic acid chloride are now allowed to flow into this mixture over the course of half an hour. The reaction of the mixture is kept at a pH of 7 by simultaneously adding about 1930 parts of 10% aqueous sodium carbonate solution.
After stirring for one hour at 0 to +5 C, about 2500 parts of potassium chloride are added to the reaction mixture over the course of an hour, it is stirred for half an hour, the separated dye is suctioned off and the filter material is washed with saturated aqueous potassium chloride solution. After drying under reduced pressure, a dye is obtained which, in the form of the free acid, has the formula
EMI0003.0001
and which provides wet and lightfast greenish blue dyeings on cotton in the presence of basic agents.
Example 2 In a solution, cooled to 0 C, of 53.3 parts of the disodium salt of 1-amiro-4- (3-amino-4-sulfophenylamino) -anthraquinone-2-sulfonic acid in 533 parts of N. -Methylpyrrolidone is the solution of 22,
1 part of s-phenoxypropionic acid chloride in 40 parts of dimethylformamide entered in small proportions.
After a further hour, the solution is stirred into a mixture of 2500 parts of saturated aqueous potassium chloride solution and 54 parts of 10% strength aqueous hydrochloric acid, the deposited dye, which is in the form of the free acid of the formula
EMI0003.0027
equalized, filtered off and the filter material washed acid-free with saturated aqueous potassium chloride solution.
The new dye can be used to dye cotton in the following way: Cotton fabric is padded with an aqueous solution that contains 20 parts of the dye of the formula V in 1000 parts by volume, it is squeezed to a moisture content of 90% and dried. The fabric is then passed through another aqueous pad bath containing 15 parts of sodium hydroxide and 200 parts of sodium chloride in 1000 parts by volume, it is squeezed off, steamed for 5 minutes at 100 ° C. and soaped. A blue dyeing with good wet fastness properties and excellent light fastness is obtained.
Dyes of very similar properties are obtained by using appropriate amounts of 1-amino-4- (3-sulfo-4-aminophenylamino) anthraquinone-2-sulfonic acid, 1-amino-4- (3-amino-4-sulfophenylamino ) - anthraquinone-2,6-disulfonic acid or 1-aniino-4- (3-sulfo-4-aminophenylamino) - anthraquinone-2,6-disulfonic acid instead of 1-amino-4- (3-amino-4-sulfophenylamino) - Anthraquinone-2-sulfonic acid used and otherwise proceeded in the manner explained in the first paragraph.
Example 3 A solution of 53.3 parts of the disodium salt of 1-amino-4- (3-sulfo-4-aminophenylamino) anthraquinone-2-sulfonic acid in 1000 parts of water is added A solution of 47 parts of fl- (4-chlorothiophenyl) propionic acid chloride in 100 parts of dimethylformamide flow in at room temperature over the course of one hour.
The reaction of the solution is kept at a pH value of 6 by the simultaneous addition of 20% strength aqueous sodium carbonate solution. The mixture is then stirred for about an hour, and the dye, which is in the form of the free acid of the formula
EMI0003.0064
corresponds, by adding excess sodium chloride and drying it under reduced pressure. The new dye can be fixed to cotton in an alkaline bath in wet and lightfast greenish blue tones.
Dyestuffs with similar properties are obtained using 49.1 parts of ss- (4-nitrothiophenyl) propionic acid chloride or 40.1 parts of ss-thiophenylpropionic acid chloride instead of 47 parts of ss- (4-chlorothiophenyl) propionic acid chloride. Further dyes of this type are obtained in the manner explained above from the anthraquinone derivatives and the acid chlorides in the table below. These new dyes dye textiles made of cotton in the specified shades.
