Description

Car seat belts are known car seat belts in the most varied designs that are woven from yarns and threads. Hemp, flax, ramie and, more recently, polyamides are used as raw materials for these yarns.
The main function of a car safety belt is to absorb and destroy the acceleration forces that arise in a car accident. This is intended to protect the buckled occupant from colliding with the dashboard, windshield and roof.
It has been found that it is not enough to absorb the acceleration force through sufficient strength of the belts, but rather. that this force has to be destroyed by a certain allowable stretch without elastic spring back. These investigations have shown that high elasticity of the belt material can lead to neck fractures due to the rebound that occurs.
The previously known car seat belts do not have the required elongation properties, so that they only fulfill their purpose in an inadequate manner.
The car seat belt according to the invention is characterized in that the belt fabric consists of polyester threads or yarns at least in the warp direction,
where the fabric has an elongation of at least 33% at a load of 70-80% of the breaking load in the warp direction,
of which at least 75% is permanent elongation after unloading to 100 kg.
The polyester threads or yarns or twines expediently have a strength of 800 to 1200 den. The car seat belt should be constructed in such a way that with a breaking load of, for example, 1500 kg, the elongation at 70-801 / o of this breaking load, for example, 1100-1200 kg,
is at least 33%. Of this 33% elongation must be at least with immediate reduction of the load to 100 kg. 75% permanent elongation
left over.
The weft of the belt fabric is preferably made of polyester, polyamide or cellulose hydrate threads. The inventive car seat belt is characterized by particularly favorable elongation properties. In addition, it is resistant to chemicals such. B. battery acid, as well as resistant to light.
An exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown in the drawing. The direction of the seat belt is denoted by (1) H (1).
The belt fabric consists of polyester threads in the warp direction and has an elongation of at least 33% at a load of 70 to 80% of the breaking load,
of which at least 75% is permanent elongation after unloading to 100 kg.
This means that the acceleration forces that arise in a car accident can be used without dangerous. Springback can be caught and destroyed.
