Description
High-voltage cable connection for small transformers, especially ignition transformers High-voltage small transformers, in particular ignition transformers for oil burner systems, generally be on the secondary side of highly insulated connectors or highly insulated cables that are directly connected to the consumer, e.g. B. the ignition electrodes of a burner are brought up.
The connection of these cables to the transformer is usually carried out with a clamp connection, from which an easy detachability is required in order to be able to change the high-voltage cable if necessary. With today's small construction of transformers and especially with the endeavor to build even smaller, the commercially available terminals no longer meet this requirement.
According to the invention, it is therefore proposed as a high-voltage cable connection that an insulating material sleeve adapted to the cable diameter is provided on the transformer with a threaded tip arranged centrally in relation to this, into which the cable core can be screwed. With a connection of this type, no tools are required at all for fastening the high-voltage cables, and there is even no need to strip the insulation and tin the cable ends. In addition, this connection advantageously covers the high-voltage metal parts so well that even with tools, e.g. B. screwdriver, no contact with live parts is possible.
Of course, there is also a considerable saving in work during assembly.
In the case of a high-voltage ignition transformer, both ends of the high-voltage winding are normally brought out of the housing to the connection terminals. It proves to be advantageous here to design the two necessary connections as twin connections which are inserted into a corresponding opening in the housing. The connection according to the invention is expediently not screwed to the transformer housing, but rather poured into it or, in the case of housings made of insulating material, provided on the housing from the outset.
Of course, this high-voltage connection is suitable for both normally encapsulated transformers and for shell-encapsulated versions.
The invention is explained in more detail using an exemplary embodiment. As the figure shows, the connection consists of an insulating sleeve 1, whose inner diameter 5 is adapted to the diameter of the cable 4. In the insulating sleeve 1, a threaded tip 2 is arranged centrally, into which the core 3 of the high-voltage cable 4 can be screwed. In order to ensure a tight fit of the cable 4, the diameter 5 of the sleeve 1 is designed to be too conical in relation to the fastening of the thread tip.
