Torsionally flexible coupling The invention relates to a torsionally flexible coupling, in particular for motor vehicles, in which between the driving and the driven shaft vibration-damping transmission members act on disk sets firmly connected to the shafts and preloaded compression springs are provided as the transmission members, which are supported at both ends on spring plates.
For the transmission of rotary movements, wel che are constantly very uneven, as z. B. occur in clutches for motor vehicles, it is known to use, as vibration-damping transmission members between the driving and the driven shaft, preloaded, circumferentially acting helical springs. These springs are housed in double trapezoidal openings, so-called spring windows, of the clutch disks.
In order to protect the support windings of the helical springs from the blows of the narrow edges of the window-shaped openings and to transfer the spring forces over a larger area to these edges, support spring plates were provided at the ends of the springs.
In order for these plates to be held in their correct position in the clutch disks, further measures were taken, such as ribs, projections on the plates in the most varied of shapes and so on, and since, depending on the peripheral speeds of the plates in motor vehicles, high impact resistance was required which only had steel with appropriate thermal treatment, the support spring plates were made from this material.
Despite these measures, a more or less severe wear of the cooperating parts, which was also associated with noise development and could lead to the destruction of the clutch, had to be accepted. The aim of the invention is to avoid these disadvantages in that the support spring plates are made of highly polymeric plastic from the thermoplastics, elastomers or thermosets of high wear resistance groups.
Advantageously, the plates in their central part in the longitudinal direction of the spring are directed against each other, in the idle state of the clutch with Ab stood from each other ending bolt-like stops made of highly elastic plastic; the length of which together is at least such that they touch each other before the maximum permissible stress on the springs is reached.
By using the new material for the support spring plate, high centrifugal forces can be avoided due to the low mass weights, which formed the cause of high wear when using steel and, as already mentioned, could lead to the destruction of the clutch. In addition, when using the highly elastic plastic for the stops of the spring plate, a low-noise operation is made possible. As a further advantage, due to the high wear resistance of the plastic support spring plate, its wear can be so low that the spring preload is permanently maintained.
An exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown in the drawing.
Fig. 1 shows a detail of a clutch in the idle state partially in section.
FIG. 2 is a section on line I-I of FIG. 1, and FIG. 3 is a section on line 11-I1 of FIG.
The disc 1 is ver when engaging the hitch ment in a known, not shown manner on the lining 2 with the drive shaft of the clutch connected. The disc 3, which is smaller in diameter, is held at a fixed distance x from the disc 1 by the spacer discs 4 and the rivets 5 (FIG. 3).
The two disks 1 and 3 lie between the disks 6 and 7, which are attached to the hub 8 of the shaft to be driven, not shown. The disks 1 and 3 as well as 6 and 7 as well as the spacer disks 4 have the window-like openings 10 and 11 distributed in circles. The prestressed steel springs 13 and 25 are arranged in these openings as vibration-damping transmission elements. The springs 13 and 25 are supported at both ends on the spring plates 16 and 17 made of highly polymeric plastic of the thermoplastics, elastomers or thermosets high wear resistance.
These have on the surface of the bottom facing away from the springs 13 and 25 each have a transversely extending over the plate lug 19 which engages in the discs formed by the discs 1 and 3 by means of the spacer 4 gap.
The spring plates 16 and 17 also have the shoulders 22 and 23, which extend in the axial direction of the springs 13 and 25 and which end at a distance z (FIG. 1) from one another in the rest position of the coupling. The springs 13 and 25 are held in their position by the shoulders 22 and 23 of the spring plates 16 and 17. These approaches can also consist of a highly elastic plastic and can be connected to the actual plate body by vulcanizing.
When the clutch responds, i.e. when the inner disk set 1, 3 rotates relative to the outer disk set 6, 7 from the rest position, the shoulders 22 and 23 of the spring plates 16 and 17 come closer together with the springs 13 and 25 being compressed, the maximum stress on the compression springs 13 and 25 being limited to a maximum permissible value by appropriate dimensioning of the length of the extensions 22 and 23.
