Device for checking the angular position of edges or surfaces of objects, especially of cutting tools There are already devices for checking the angular position of edges or surfaces of objects, in particular of cutting tools, in which a piece holder for the object to be tested and a stylus is used, wel cher is arranged on a sliding body displaceable in the direction of the connecting straight piece holder stylus bar rotatably.
This known device also has a pointer rigidly connected to the stylus, the deflection of which can be read on an angular scale arranged on the sliding body and the zero point of which lies on the straight line connecting the piece holder stylus, with the measurement the stylus is to be placed on the edge or surface to be tested of the object mounted on the piece holder with a touch surface that is formed on it and extends through its axis of rotation and assumes the angular position of the edge or surface to be tested.
In this known device, the contact surface and the measuring surface of the angle sensor are perpendicular to each other, which means that direct measurement of the angles of surfaces that form an obtuse angle with one another is practically impossible. Obtuse angles must be determined indirectly nomographically using a dial gauge.
The invention overcomes these disadvantages. It allows the rake angle and clearance angle of tools, such. B. cutters, can measure easily and directly. The device according to the invention is characterized in that the feeler surface of the feeler pin is continuously flat or cylindrically curved and symmetrical to the axis of rotation of the feeler pin.
This ensures that all angles that occur in practice can be determined quickly and directly in a simple manner; the device can therefore be used universally. An example embodiment of the inven tion is illustrated in the drawings. Fig. 1 is a plan view of the protractor and Fig. 2 is a side view of the same. Fig. 3 shows another imple mentation of the stylus on a larger scale.
A piece holder 3 and a slide 2 are attached to a base plate 1. A sliding body 4 is displaceable in a recess in the sliding track. For this, a recess 3 a is seen in the piece holder 3. The sliding body 4 can be fixed in any desired position within the sliding path 2 by means of a nut 5.
In the sliding body 4 there are two ball bearings 6 with aligned inner rings, in which a stylus 8 is rotatable and replaceable, the protruding end of which has a flat surface 16 that transmits through the axis of rotation a and in the direction of the pointer 10. The surface 16 is arranged symmetrically to the axis of rotation a. On the inserted into the ball bearing 6 pin 8a of the stylus 8, a brake wing 7 is placed, which causes a Luftdämp Fung of the pointer connected to the stylus 10 and thus prevents damage to the pointer.
On the stylus 8, a protective disk 9 is attached to prevent contamination of the ball bearing, to which the pointer 10 of the device is be fastened. The angle scale 11 and the rotatable part of the device are arranged with the stylus 8 on the sliding body 4 and therefore take part in every movement of the sliding body. By means of a handle 15, the sliding body 4 can be moved in the slide 2 who the.
A stiffening arm 12 ensures a rigid connection between the vertebral scale 11 and the sliding body 4. The deflection of the pointer 10 is limited by stop pins 13 arranged at the ends of the angular scale 11. The device rests with feet 14 on a flat surface. To measure the distance of the axis of rotation a of the stylus 8 from the center axis b of the piece holder 3, scales with radius or diameter values are attached to the sliding guide 2.
In the embodiment according to FIG. 3, the stylus 8 has a convex cylindrical surface 17. The cylinder surface 17 makes it possible to move it along a contact surface 18 of the workpiece.
The device is used as follows: The object whose angle is to be measured is placed on the piece holder 3. The sliding body 4 is the object to be tested, for. B. the contact surface of a tooth of a disk milling cutter so approximated that the surface 16 or 18 of the test pin 8 touches it. When the test pen 8 touches the surface to be measured, it adjusts to its angle of inclination, the amount of which can be read off from the position of the pointer 10 on the angle scale 11.
If the surface to be measured is curved, the distance between the measuring point, i.e. H. the axis of rotation a of the stylus 8 must be taken into account by the central axis b. This distance can be read off the scale of slide 2. The sliding body 4 can, for. B. when measuring the face angle of milling cutters with holes are fixed in such a position that the center line of the stylus comes to sit 0.5-2 mm behind the cutting edge of the tool after in NEN. It is also possible to proceed in such a way that the distance is set by means of the index line 4a on the scales of the slide 2.
The cutting edge of the tool is then lightly pressed against the stylus 8, the tactile surface adapting to the inclination of the surface to be measured at this point and the pointer 10 on the scale 11 showing the value of the measured angle. The Mes sen of the back angle is done in the same way with the difference that, for. B. in milling cutters with milled teeth of the stylus 8 back to a point of the tooth, near the cutting edge is applied.
With back-turned or relief-ground milling cutters, measuring is easier because the tangent angle can be measured at any point on the back of the tooth.
If the object to be tested is clamped and centered on a piece holder 3 and the piece holder is also provided with an angular graduation, the device can also be used to measure polar curves (e.g. switching or switching curves).
Control disks) can be used. Such a measurement takes place in such a way that the stylus 8 rotatable in the sliding body 4 is moved towards the casing to be measured and the piece to be measured is simultaneously set to the desired angular coordinate. The size of the radius vector can then be read from the scale on the sliding guide 2 and the size of the tangent angle from the angle scale 11.
Instead of the angular scale which can be moved with the stylus 8, a scale can also be selected in which the angular values corresponding to the angular values are entered. In this case, the device immediately displays the differential quotient of the curve at every point on the curve.
