Connection nipple on grooved metal hose The subject of the present invention is a connection nipple on a grooved metal hose with or without a plastic coating.
Since metal hoses can practically not auswei th, you can not, such as the always slightly stretchy rubber or plastic hoses on a z. B. pull the ribbed connection piece of a nipple and clamp it there by means of a nut.
One has therefore usually managed to insert the end of the hose into the borehole of a connection piece of the nipple; To fix the end of the hose in the nipple, a sealing ring was inserted into a step in the connection port bore and axially and radially compressed by means of a union nut, which presses radially inwards against the hose. However, this does not represent a perfect connection between the hose and the nipple, since the hose can deflect resiliently inward, so that even relatively low tensile forces are sufficient to release the hose from its anchorage.
Particularly in the case of metal hoses encased in plastic there is the further disadvantage that the metal hose, which is usually somewhat recessed compared to the plastic casing or has an otherwise uneven, uneven end face, is not in perfect contact with the metal part of the nipple, so that only an inadequate or none at all Grounding of the metal hose is achieved via the nipple.
With the connection nipple according to the invention, these disadvantages are avoided; For this purpose, it is characterized in that a metallic push-on sleeve is plugged onto the end part of the tube, with the front end part of a metallic plug-in sleeve connected to the front end part of a metallic plug-in sleeve coaxially with the plug-on sleeve and engages radially inside the latter by means of at least one wall projection in the grooves of the metal hose, the said end parts of the two sleeves being fixed to a connecting piece.
It is readily apparent that, due to the design and arrangement of the individual elements mentioned, the hose is held between the two sleeves. At the same time, a conductive connection between the nipple and hose is established by engaging in the grooves of the metal jacket and fixing it on the connecting piece, so that the latter can be properly grounded.
It goes without saying that the nipple has a second connection piece for fixing the nipple, e.g. B. on a second metal hose, a pipe, a final hanger or the like may have. In the accompanying drawings, two execution examples of the invention are shown; It shows: FIG. 1 in axial section the first example of a connection nipple on a metal hose encased in plastic and FIG. 2 a section analogous to FIG. 1 through the second example.
In the drawing, 1 is a metal hose sheathed with plastic 2, which consists of a helically wound metal band with a meandering profile in the transverse direction. About the free end part of the hose or its Kunststoffman tel 2 is a metallic push-on sleeve 3 with radially inwardly projecting end flange 3a and radially outwardly extending end flange 3b inserted, said end flange 3a rests against the end face of the hose. Furthermore, a metallic insertion sleeve 4 with a radially outwardly projecting end flange 4a is inserted into the hose end.
This sleeve 4 engages by means of a helical rib 4b in the inner grooves of the metal hose 1. The rib 4b has the same slope as the hose groove and extends z. B. about a deal. However, a plurality of rib pieces arranged distributed along a helical line could also be provided. The end flange 4 a of the sleeve 4 rests against the end flange 3 a of the sleeve 3.
To enable the sleeve 4 to be inserted into the sleeve 3, the outer diameter of the ribs 4b must be somewhat smaller than the inner diameter of the end flange 3, c; If only individual rib pieces are provided distributed over the circumference on the sleeve 4, it is sufficient if the end flange 3a of the sleeve 3 has corresponding cutouts for the passage of the said rib pieces.
The hose end part equipped with the two coaxial sleeves 3 and 4 is inserted into the cylindrical bore of a connection piece 5a of a nipple 5, so that the end flange 4a of the sleeve 4 rests on an annular bottom surface 6 of this connection piece and the end flange 3b of the sleeve 3 the end face 7 rests on the ses nozzle. A union nut 8 is screwed onto an external thread of the connecting piece 5a, with a sealing ring 9 made of elastic material being clamped between an end flange 8a of this nut and the end flange 3b of the sleeve 3.
When the union nut 8 is tightened, the sealing ring 9 is axially and radially compressed, where on the one hand the hose is pressed radially into a firm grip with the ribbed insert sleeve 4 and on the other hand this sleeve is pressed firmly against the seat surface 6 by means of the push-on sleeve 3, so that the Hose against axial. Removing from the nipple is securely held. A solid electrically conductive connection between the metal hose 1 and the nipple 5 is also created via the insertion sleeve 4 so that the hose can be properly grounded. To tern the insertion of the sleeve 4 to erleich, the free end can be slightly tapered ver.
The connector 5b of the nipple, which is coaxial with the connector 5a, is provided with an external thread and can be used to screw the nipple into a fitting or a pipe. The nipple could, however, also serve as a coupling for two identical metal hoses, in which case the second socket is designed analogously to the connection socket 5a. Likewise, the nipple could also be designed as a T-piece or angle piece.
In the example shown in FIG. 2, too, a connection nipple 5 is releasably attached to one end of a metal hose 1 sheathed with plastic 2. The only difference to the above-described example lies in the design and arrangement of the metallic insert sleeve 14.
The latter is inserted between the plastic jacket 2 and metal hose 1; Except for a radially outward ra lowing end flange 14a, which engages over the end flange 3a of the slip-on sleeve 3 and rests against the bottom surface 6, the sleeve 14 has an inner rib 14b running along a helical line, wel che engages from the outside into the grooves of the metal tube .
When the union nut 8 is tightened, the sealing ring 9 is also compressed radially and axially here, on the one hand holding the rib 14b of the plug-in sleeve 14 in secure engagement with the grooves of the metal hose 1 and on the other hand presses the end flange of the push-on sleeve against the end face 7 of the connecting piece 5a and over the end flange 3a of the push-on sleeve 3 the end flange 14a against the bottom surface 6, so that the metal hose is secured against axial loosening from its anchorage in the connection nipple and is connected to this electrically conductive '.
With regard to the design and arrangement of the rib 14 and the connecting piece 5b of the nipple 5, what has been said for the corresponding elements of the example described first applies.
In the foregoing, it was always assumed that the metal hose has a plastic jacket. It goes without saying, however, that the measures described can also be taken with a bare metal hose or one with an inner lining.
