Device for mixing liquids with gases
It is known that liquids and gases can be mixed with one another in that the gas is passed at a relatively high speed through an outlet opening through which the liquid enters the flowing gas and is atomized there. The homogeneity of the mixture of the two media depends essentially on the degree of division of the liquid medium, i. H. depends on the size of the liquid particles in the mist.
The finest possible distribution of a liquid in a gaseous medium is of great importance in various technical fields of application.
The aim can be to bring the media into interaction with one another as closely as possible in order to achieve a physical or chemical process (conversion, adsorption and the like), or to change the state of one of the two media by the other (evaporation , Humidification and the like).
The device according to the invention is characterized by two converging and diverging surfaces, which are movable relative to one another and in a flow channel for the gas form a narrowest part that can be changed by the relative movement of the surfaces, and by supply organs which the liquid over an overflow edge through at least Distribute a slit-shaped opening in a film-like manner on at least one of the converging surfaces, with at least one of the converging and diverging surfaces the transition from the converging to the diverging surface part being formed by an edge in order to atomize the liquid in the diffuser part under the effect of the flowing gas.
The invention will be explained in more detail with reference to the accompanying drawings, for example.
Show:
1 shows the schematic representation of a preferred embodiment of the mixing device according to the invention with two nozzle bodies,
2 shows a schematic representation of a rotationally symmetrical embodiment of the mixing device according to the invention, and
3 shows the schematic representation of a device according to the invention in a dedusting system.
1 shows the two surfaces 11 and 12, which converge against one another in a flow channel 3, as parts of the nozzle bodies 13 and 14. In the flow channel 3, the gas or gas mixture is guided from top to bottom in the direction of the arrow. The surface 12 can be displaced parallel to the nozzle body 14 in the direction of the double arrow and thereby forms with the surface 11 a variable cross-sectional constriction 18 in the flow channel 3, the front wall of which has been broken away for the sake of clarity. The chambers 19 and 20 are supplied with a liquid, for. B. water, supplied. The liquid flows over the edges 22 or 23 onto the surfaces 11 or 12 and forms liquid films on these. The guide surfaces 21 and 24 ensure the uniformity of the films at the exit points.
The liquid film flowing downward on the surface 11 or 12 is atomized by the gas in the zone of the cross-sectional constriction or the nozzle gap 18 under the action of the turbulent gas flow prevailing there. The degree of nebulization, i.e. H. The size and size distribution of the atomized liquid droplets is essentially determined by the extent and turbulence of the turbulent zone around and after the cross-sectional constriction. In the space immediately below the cross-sectional constriction 18, the gas or gas mixture is mixed with the nebulized liquid. It should be emphasized that, in principle, it is also possible to work with a single liquid film, so that one of the nozzle bodies does not have to have any corresponding means, such as a chamber, feed line and outlet.
Depending on the intended use of the mixing device, a consumer for the air-gas mixture or a separation zone, in which the liquid is separated from the gas, for example under the action of a gravitational field (calming chamber, cyclone), follows in the direction of the flowing gas.
Corresponding seals 15 16 are advantageously provided between the movable nozzle body 14 and the wall 17 of the flow channel.
The gas flowing through the device at a correspondingly high speed atomizes at least part of the liquid flowing over the edge 25 of the nozzle body 13. The liquid film flowing over the edge 26 of the nozzle body 14 is also at least partially atomized. The turbulence zone begins approximately at the edge 25 and extends down into the space 27 below the edge 26. By regulating the liquid supply, it is possible to cover the walls 28, 29 of the flow channel with downward flowing liquid, which is particularly important for the Use of the device for dedusting is important because of the possibility of carrying away any solid deposits that may occur.
It should be emphasized that the device according to the invention is not limited to flow channels with a square or rectangular cross section. For example, the nozzle bodies can be designed in an annular manner and arranged coaxially so that an annular nozzle gap results.
This embodiment of the mixing device according to the invention which is particularly advantageous in terms of construction and its mode of operation is shown in FIG. In FIG. 2, the one nozzle body 30 is firmly connected in a flow channel 32 with a circular or annular cross section to the outer wall of the flow channel 32 or forms part of this wall. The other nozzle body 31 can then be rotationally symmetrical, for example in the form of a double cone movable in the directions of the double arrow, and lie coaxially with the outer nozzle body 30 in the flow channel.
From the chamber 33, which is in the form of an annular channel, the liquid passes through the gap 34 into the flow channel, flows downwards at the surface 35 and is in the zone of the cross-sectional constriction 36 with the gas flowing downwards from the top, with at least partial atomization of the liquid mixed.
When using the device for dedusting gases, the gas flow is preferably directed in a helical manner around the axis A-A flowing downwards, the space 37 merging into a cyclone. In the cyclone the rotating gas separates from the liquid and is discharged through the pipe 38 in the direction of the arrows upwards. The liquid atomized in the dust-containing gas stream binds a large part of the solids contained in the gas as dust in the turbulent mixing zone generated by the cross-sectional constriction 36, which solids can then be separated from the gas together with the liquid.
The liquid to be atomized can be introduced into the annular chamber 33 in such a way that it rotates about the axis A-A. This is indicated by the concave surface of the liquid in FIG. 2. The advantage of this operating mode is that water containing solids can also be used when dedusting gas, with settling of the solids in the chamber 33 being excluded.
3 shows the arrangement of a mixing device according to the invention in a dedusting system. The gas to be dedusted is introduced into the space 39 and flows downward through the cross-sectional constriction 42 delimited by the two nozzle bodies 40, 41. The nozzle body 40 is movable in the direction of the double arrow and enables the cross-sectional constriction 42 to be changed. The two converging surfaces 43, 44 are supplied with water through the chambers 45, 46, which flows downward in a film-like manner on these surfaces and is at least partially atomized by the gas flow. Intensive mixing of the dust-containing gas with the sprayed or atomized water takes place in space 47, the water binding the main part of the dust.
In the Beruhi supply or separation chamber 48, the dusty water settles and is discharged through the dirty water drain 49. The dedusted gas flows out through the clean gas outlet 50. In order to ensure complete detection of the gas to be dedusted, the movable nozzle body 40 is provided with seals 51.
An essential advantage of the embodiments of the mixing device according to the invention shown in FIGS. 2 and 3 is that, by changing the cross-sectional constriction, the mixing effect can be kept uniform even with a changing gas throughput. It is of course immaterial whether this change in the cross-sectional constriction is brought about by the movement of one or both nozzle bodies and whether the nozzle bodies are moved parallel or transverse to the direction of flow. The shape of the nozzle body can also be designed differently and, in addition to the preferred triangular cross-sections shown in FIGS. 1-3, other polygonal designs are also possible.
The shape of the cross-sectional constriction or the nozzle gap can run horizontally or obliquely in relation to the longitudinal axis of the flow channel.
A plurality of identical or differently designed mixing devices can also be arranged one behind the other to enhance the effect of the device. To increase the turbulence, aids, such as. B. turbulence rings may be arranged. Good mixing results can in any case be achieved by adapting the structural design to a given problem.
According to a preferred method for operating the mixing device according to the invention in the dedusting of gas or gas mixture, the gas stream to be dedusted is passed over the liquid used for dedusting, which flows in a film-like manner, the gas to be dedusted nebulizing the liquid in a mixing zone and the liquid which practically completely binds solid particles contained in the gas, so that when the liquid is separated from the gas, the gas is dedusted. Surprisingly, it has been shown that the dedusting of a gas with water is particularly effective and economical if the water is recirculated during the dedusting, ie. H. that there are always solid particles in the water.
The difficulty in carrying out the dedusting with recirculation of the dusty water is to prevent the solids from settling out of the water. This can easily be achieved by means of the rotationally symmetrical embodiment of the mixing device according to the invention described in FIG. 3.
The mixing devices according to the invention enable the construction of relatively small dedusting systems, which is particularly advantageous when dedusting exhaust gases from electric furnaces with several electrodes. In this case, several deduster systems can be operated next to each other for each furnace, whereby the flow conditions at each gas extraction point on the furnace can be kept at an optimal value by regulating the suction power.
Another essential advantage of the mixing devices described for dedusting gas is that constant speeds can be achieved even with changing gas quantities by appropriate regulation of the flow cross-section at the cross-sectional constriction, so that a change in the efficiency is avoided with changing operating conditions.
The known conveying devices are suitable for moving the gas through the device.
These devices can be located in the gas stream upstream or downstream of the mixing device according to the invention.
