Spring mattress The present invention relates to a spring mattress which is only provided with upholstery on its upper side and in which the spring cloth arranged between the upholstery and the spring core consists of a tough monofilament braid or fabric, preferably a braid or fabric monofilaments obtained through mixed polymerisation of vinylidene chloride and vinyl chloride.
The inventive design of the spring core mattress has various advantages over the known mattresses in which both the top and the bottom are usually provided with padding. On the one hand, it allows the padding material available for each mattress to be laid in a single layer of correspondingly greater thickness, which not only reduces the production costs, but also significantly increases the thermal insulation properties of the padding. Another significant advantage is then to be seen in the fact that the mattress according to the invention no longer needs to be turned.
It is well known that the full mattresses used previously (breastfeeding sacks with various types of filling material) had to be turned over every day so that they were more or less evenly worn. This tradition was maintained when the spring core mattresses later appeared. With these spring mattresses, the padding and insulation material, e.g. B. cotton, sheep wool, animal hair, plant fibers, etc., evenly distributed ver on the two lying surfaces.
Attempts have also been made to vary the thickness of the upholstery material on the two sides of the bed, with the thinner upholstery being swept up during the summer months and the thicker upholstery during the colder months. The common feature of all these spring mattresses is that they were designed and set up for use on both sides. The regular turning of these spring core mattresses, which are upholstered on both sides, or because of the seasons, corresponded partly to an old custom, and partly to extend the durability of the mattress by distributing the various upholstery and filling materials over two surfaces or layers.
Above all, however, it was the feather cloth, mostly a strong jute fabric lying directly on the wire coils of the spring core that was most quickly worn or chafed through.
In the drawing, two exemplary embodiments of the subject invention are from Darge, namely shows:.
Fig. 1 is a cross-section of a first Ausfüh approximate shape of the upper mattress with normal spring core insert and Fig. 2 is a longitudinal section of a second Ausfüh approximate shape of the upper mattress with ver reinforced spring insert in the middle part.
According to the first embodiment according to FIG. 1, the mattress has a normal, consistently equally strong spring core insert 1, which is used as a cover on the underside, for. B. a sisal mat 2 and as a cushion cover on the top a feather cloth 3 made of a tough mesh or fabric, in particular a monofilament obtained by copolymerization of vinylidene chloride and vinyl chloride, has.
The monofilament network consists of one of the thermoplastic plastics known under the registered trademarks Saran, Diorid or Lumite. The padding on the top of the mattress, which serves as a heat-insulating bed, is composed, for example, of a pad 4 made of foam rubber or synthetic foam, a middle layer 5 made of animal hair and a top layer 6 made of cotton or sheep wool. The usual dril cover 7 is used as the outer covering.
In the reinforced central position of the spring core 1 provided the second embodiment of the mattress according to Fig. 2, a foam rubber or synthetic foam layer 2 is used as the lower cover 2 of the spring core 1, while the upper cover from the spring cloth 3 made of tough monofilament mesh or fabric such as Saran, Diorid or Lumite is used. The actual insulating pad here consists of the pad 4, which lies on the spring cloth 3 and is formed by a quilted mat, and the top sheet 6 formed from a cotton sheet.
Plastic monofilaments are also preferably used for the sewing and binding threads of the mattress. For example, the sewing and binding threads of the mattress can consist of one of the plastics known under the registered trademarks Saran, Diorid or Terylen.
