Process for producing an exothermic lining in a casting mold and device for carrying out the method It is known to reduce the heat dissipation occurring through the walls during the solidification of steel after casting in a mold or another casting mold by using an exothermic wall lining, which to avoid the formation of cavities in the head of the mold or in the hood he allows. On the other hand, it is known to form such a wall lining an exothermic product in combination with a binder, e.g. B. from water glass to use.
In this case, hardening of such a mixture can be achieved by introducing carbon dioxide.
To attach such exothermic linings in the mold head, prefabricated elements were previously used from exothermic Ge mix, which had to be glued to the mold wall or attached in some other way. The associated work is tedious and difficult to perform, and the attachment achieved often has significant shortcomings.
The invention aims to avoid these disadvantages and to enable the direct attachment of a lining with exothermic mixtures to the inner wall of molds or other molds.
The invention now relates to a method for the direct production of an exothermic lining inside a casting mold, which method is characterized in that an insertable template is arranged on the part of the casting mold to be clad and a hardenable loose in the space between template and casting mold Mixture containing exothermic material and a binder is introduced, whereupon a gas is introduced into the filled exothermic mixture from several points on the template and the template is removed before casting.
The method according to the invention thus makes it possible, using a template, that the exothermic lining is formed directly on the mold wall in a quick and simple manner, whereby by introducing z. B. carbon dioxide gas causes rapid hardening of the lining at various points in the mixture, so that the mold can also be prepared quickly immediately before casting.
The invention also relates to a Einrich device with a template for performing the method described be. This device is characterized in that the template consists of several elements lying parallel to the inner wall of the mold and forming a closed wall, which enclose an annular cavity with the inner wall of the mold, and consists of a seal on the lower edge of the wall elements,
wherein a supply line system leading to the walls and fastening means for the template on the mold edge and a device for detaching the template from the formed clothing are provided for supplying the gas causing the hardening of the exothermic mass.
The wall elements of the template can be designed as single or double walls. In the first case, the ends of the carbon dioxide supply pipes, distributed over the template elements, can open directly into the wall. In the second case, the wall facing the inside of the template can carry the mouths of the gas lines, while the side of the wall facing the inner wall of the mold is drilled or perforated so that the hardening agent which fills the space formed by the two walls is evenly distributed to be hardened Ge mixture of the lining can flow.
The template is advantageously fastened to the casting mold by means of a device which enables the height of the template to be adjusted relative to the edge of the casting mold and which enables it to be easily placed before and removed after the lining has been produced. This device can advantageously be a clamp that can be locked with eccentrics or similar organs or an analogous fastening means that can be locked in the desired position on the casting mold.
The connection of the individual elements of the wall parts forming the template can be done in different ways. For example, the template can be composed of several units that overlap at the joints. According to a particularly advantageous embodiment, a template can also be used which can be composed of two or more units, these units themselves being composed of elements which can be pivoted relative to one another about a vertical axis. In this way, a simple assembly or disassembly of the template is possible, please include.
However, you can also use a template that is already fully assembled and adjustable and can be adapted to the mold. For this purpose, the elements of this Wan can be attached ver adjustable, for example, to a rigid frame. The frame is also equipped with support arms that rest on the edges of the mold in order to fix the frame in its correct position. It can also be a device that allows adjustment of the wall elements or
to allow these parts to be drawn in after the interior of the mold, be attached to the frame so as to effect the advancement of the wall elements in the working position after the template has been inserted into the mold.
According to a further embodiment, the wall elements are held by support rods which form toothed racks at their ends and engage with them in one or more gearwheels attached to a central actuating shaft. This support or racks can be guided in corresponding sleeves of the rigid central frame of the template. The mentioned gears can either be done by hand or with the help of a motor, e.g. B. an electric motor carried by the rigid central frame, are set in motion.
If desired, a control system, for example an electronic system, can be seen before which switches the engine at the desired moment to ensure completely automatic regulation. Of course, a drive device of another type can also be present on the rigid central frame.
If a drive motor is used to move the wall elements of the template, this can, if desired, also serve to drive a vibrator, which is also arranged on the rigid central frame and causes the exothermic mixture to be compressed.
The wall of the template can be formed from simple or composite elements that face the sides of the mold, and from bent wing parts that cover the mold corners. According to a preferred embodiment, each curved wing part can be articulated with one side edge on a wall element and with the other side edge penetrate a guide provided on the edge of the other adjacent wall element. In this way you get a stencil surface that is uninterrupted in every position, which the automatic! Adaptation of the template to casting molds with relatively small differences in dimensions allows.
The profile of the curved wing part is determined according to the intended guide. For example, the edge of the adjacent wall element can carry guide rollers which, together with this edge, form an intermediate space suitable for the penetration of the curved wing part.
Several exemplary embodiments of the device according to the invention with the template are described below with reference to the drawing and a number of details are given in connection therewith. In addition, the invention, which is explained in connection with the drawing for molds, is not limited to this, but can also be used to form exothermic linings of other casting molds.
The drawings show: FIG. 1 a detail from the plan of a mold with an inserted template, FIG. 2 a vertical section along the line II-II in FIG. 1, FIG. 3 a modified form of a template inserted into the mold in plan 4 shows a section of FIG. 3 rotated by 90, in which the guidance of the wing parts for the mold corners is shown on an enlarged scale,
5 shows a further embodiment of a template inserted into the mold with angled wall elements in plan, FIGS. 6 and 7 show a template with a device for height adjustment and with a covered template interior in elevation and in plan.
1 and 2, the wall 1 of the mold and on the inside thereof three wall elements 2, 3 and 4 of the template are shown. These elements are articulated to one another by vertical hinges 5, each element of the template being correspondingly shaped to the associated wall part of the mold, so that it runs essentially parallel to this ver. The wall elements are double-walled, the wall 6 lying against the cavity 7 for the lining being provided with regularly ver divided holes 8, the function of which will be described in more detail below.
The wall 9 of the template element, which lies against the inside of the mold, bears one or more pipe connections 10 which are connected to lines 11 which effect the supply of gas from a distributor 12. A bar 13 limits the cavity for the exothermic lining to the bottom and carries on the edge a strip 14 made of leather, rubber or similar elastic material, so that a sufficiently tight closure against the mold wall 1 is secured.
To fasten the template elements, clamp-like retaining brackets are provided, which are designated by 15 as a whole. Each of these holding bracket consists of an angularly bent U-iron, the vertical part (support arm) 16 carries the ele ments 2, 3, 4 of the template and whose hori zontalteil (support arm) 17 is intended to rest on the upper edge of the mold.
The support arm 16 of the bracket 15 has bores 18 at intervals in the web part, into which, as required, screws 19 engage, which are fastened to the wall elements and secure the connection to the vertical part with nuts 20. In this way, the height of the template relative to the upper edge of the mold can easily be made as required. In the drawing, the template elements 2, 3, 4 are shown in their highest position from; But you can also attach these elements accordingly to the cast amount of steel if necessary also deeper so that they z. B. extend approximately to the middle of the mold.
The support arm 17 of the bracket 15 carries on its underside a stop 21 (Fig. 2) so that the bracket can be supported against the inner wall of the mold. The position of the retaining bracket in the horizontal direction is determined by the stop and since initially with the thickness of the exothermic lining. This thickness can be changed as desired ver that you z. B. between the inner wall of the template element and the support arm 16 of the bracket in the drawing, not shown, insert washers of the desired strength. But it is also possible to use an insert part of appropriate strength, for.
B. made of wood, plaster of paris or the like, between the mold wall and exothermic lining ren, so that the stop then instead of the mold wall on this insert part comes to rest. The sealing strip 14 made of leather attached to the strip 13 then compensates for the difference in thickness of the lining when sealing against the wall by deformation.
The support arm 17 of the bracket 15 carries a sleeve 22 which can be moved on the arm 17. This sleeve carries a bendable arm 23, 24 which points downwards and at its free end carries a bolt 26 which is directed against the outer wall of the mold and is provided with a stop part 25 and which is cushioned by a spring 27. The actual locking can be effected, for example, by an eccentric device 28, which is not shown in detail.
When working with a mold, the process is carried out in such a way that the template described is used in the upper part of the mold before casting, the height being adjusted accordingly to the volume of the block to be produced. The template elements are attached with the aid of the clamp-like retaining bracket 14. Then you pour into the cavity 7 formed between the mold inner wall and the outer wall of the template, the exothermic mixture to form the lining be agreed.
This introduction can be done either with a shovel or by a suitable pneumatic device, whereupon the mixture can optionally be compacted by tamping. Subsequently, the hardener, for. B. carbonic acid gas, in which the distributor 12 is opened, whereupon the gas flows through the lines 11 into the cavities of the template elements formed between the walls 6 and 9. From there, the gas then penetrates through the holes 8 provided in the outer wall into the exothermic mixture, which then, as known per se, quickly solidifies.
In the present case, this is done, in particular, by converting a binder consisting essentially of water glass into silica gel. If the exothermic mixture contains e.g. B. a synthetic resin as the hardening binder, so the hardening device z. B. by supplying warm air causes who the. When using water glass as a binder, the solidification of the mixture introduced is after a few seconds, e.g. B. 10-20 seconds, so that the template can then be removed immediately who can. In this way, an exothermic lining is formed directly, which is produced quickly and adheres well to the mold wall, so that the casting can then take place immediately.
In the embodiment of FIG. 3, the template has a rigid, central frame 29 which is formed from tubular guides 30 verbun by straps 31. The actual Scha blone consists of wall elements 32 and 33 which are assigned to the side surfaces of the mold, the elements 32 for the larger side surface carrying arms 34 which engage in the tubular elements 30 of the frame.
The wall elements 32 and 33 are connected to toothed rods 35, which are slidably mounted on the guides 30 and the straps 31 and at their ends carry a rack 36 which engages a gear 37, which either by hand or with a z. B. attached to the frame 29 electric motor can be moved.
The template wall is completed by curved wing parts 38, which form the corners of the template and are connected at one edge to the side wall elements 33 by hinges 39, the wing parts 38 on the other side edge with one on each side edge of the wall elements 32 vorgese henen Lead 40 interact.
These guides 40 are formed between the side edges of the wall elements 32 provided from bevels 41 and rollers 42 which are attached to the wall elements 32 with arms 43 and against the bevels 41 an inter mediate space 44 for the passage of the curved wing parts 38 free to let; In this way, an uninterrupted surface of the Scha blone is guaranteed in all positions which these wing parts can assume in connection with the side wall elements 33.
In Fig. 4, which shows the formation of the guide with articulation of the corners of the template wall forming curved wing parts 38 on a larger scale, the position of the template-forming wall elements is shown with dot-dash lines when they are withdrawn to the The upper part of the mold can be used, whereas the position of the wall elements is drawn with full lines after the gear 37 has been rotated in the direction of arrow F (FIG. 3) to reach the working position on the walls of the mold.
It can be seen that it is possible by such a leadership of the curved wing parts 38 to automatically adapt the template wall to molds with relatively small differences in size, the profile of these curved wing parts being determined according to the intended guide.
The template shown in Fig. 5 has angularly bent wall elements 45 to 48, which are divided approximately in the middle of the mold side walls and overlap at the contact points in such a way that a wall element on the two side edges either covers the adjacent elements or covers them becomes. Each of the wall elements is connected to a supported support rod 49 which carries a rack 50 at the end. The supporting rods or supporting bars assigned to the individual wall elements
Racks point approximately diagonally in the middle of the template, in such a way that the racks in a pinion 51 which is attached to a zentra len actuating shaft 52 engages. The racks 50 assigned to the individual support rods 49 are mounted in guide sleeves 53 which are attached to a central plate 54 which are connected via Ste her 55 to the support arms, not shown.
In each case, two of the two racks that run in the same direction are arranged in one plane, so that two parallel sleeves rest on the other pair of parallel sleeves.
The gas supply to the individual wall elements takes place via hoses 56 which open into T-pieces 57, 58, which run with a central supply line actuating shaft 52. Advantageously, a shut-off valve and heating device can be provided on the gas supply line before the branch to the individual lines of the gas supply system, in order to facilitate operation.
In addition, an automatic timer can be provided for the carbon acid supply, which brings about the end of the aeration. The individual hose pieces open at the associated wall elements in a distribution system 60 which ends with a pipe evenly distributed around the circumference of the mold in the associated wall element. In front of the mouths of these pipe ends directed against the inner wall of the mold, plates 61 are seen, which are perforated like a sieve.
If the holes in the platelets are designed to widen outwards, the hardening agent is distributed particularly well.
6 and 7 show a template which has a special device for adjusting the height of the template wall with respect to the support arms. This device makes it possible that the clothing can be attached to each mold according to the vorgese Henen filling with casting material at the desired height. For this purpose, a mounted in a central sleeve 62 and serving to move the wall elements Actuate transmission shaft 63 is provided, which is connected to a handwheel 64 at its upper end.
This actuating shaft, which at the lower end carries a pinion 65 engaging in the racks, is mounted at this lower end in a plate 66 which also carries the guides for the racks. The sleeve 62 carrying the actuating shaft 63 is connected at the lower end to the plate 66 via a support frame 67 and has a toothed rack 68 on the circumference, which meshes with a lifting wheel 69. This hub wheel is mounted in a tube 70 which is firmly connected to the support arms 71 resting on the upper edge of the mold and serves as a guide for the sleeve 62.
Since the actuating shaft 63 is rotatably but immovably mounted in the sleeve 62, the sleeve 62 with the actuating shaft 63 in the height position relative to the edge of the mold can be set as desired by twisting a shaft 72 carrying the lifting wheel 69, so that the with the Sleeve connected parts, in particular the wall elements can be changed in height. At the upper end of the sleeve 62, the actuating shaft 63 carries a plate-like part 73 with a locking device 74 which can be brought into engagement with the flange-like upper end 75 of the sleeve 62.
When the two associated parts 73 and 75 are locked, the shaft 63 is prevented from rotating, so that the wall elements of the mask are also fixed in the corresponding position. In this way or with a similarly acting Vorrich device, the template can be held in the desired position, especially in the working position before pouring in the exothermic mixture.
If desired, instead of a special front tube 59 connected, the height adjustment of the template along the central direction can also be effected by a crane.
To make it easier to pour this mixture into the space provided, in the embodiment of the invention shown in FIGS. 6 and 7, a cover 76 is provided which covers the interior space enclosed by the template towards the top. This cover is subdivided several times and the individual parts are attached to the associated wall elements of the template, so that the individual wall elements with the cover parts attached to them can be pulled off the mold inner wall without hindrance. The cover 76 is provided in the middle with an opening 77 through which the sleeve 62 and the actuating shaft 63 protrude.
In order to keep the passage opening 77 in the cover free of the poured mixture, a sleeve 78 is provided at this opening, which is fastened on the one hand to the cover 76 and on the other hand to the tube 70 in which the sleeve 62 is slidably mounted. The cover makes it possible to pour a predetermined amount of the exothermic mixture into the opening of the mold without special care, because the mixture left on the cover is easy to close, e.g. B. with a broom, in the space 7 between template and mold 1 can be conveyed.
It is also possible to design the cover part inclined relative to the horizontal, so that the poured mixture slides off the cover and falls into the space for the clothing to be formed without any tutoring.
