Description
Crampons made up of lengthways and transverse parts To climb walls, shafts and the like, crampons are known to be used in addition to climbing bodies. The latter consist of two longitudinal parts walled in at one end and two transverse parts, of which the one further away from the wall serves as a step and also as a handle. The crampons are made of cast iron in the simplest possible form.
The innovation compared to known climbing iron is that the longitudinal parts on both sides of the tread surface consisting of the transverse parts each have an upwardly protruding edge web; This not only makes crampons more resistant to bending, but also prevents the user from stepping on and off with the help of the crampons. If the stepping area is not properly stepped on, the inclined position of the foot warns those stepping on the crampons that they will not step on, even in poor visibility. The edge bars also prevent the foot from slipping sideways. This reduces the possibility of accidents.
The drawing shows an exemplary embodiment of the invention: FIG. 1 shows a view of the crampon from behind and FIG. 2 shows a top view of the crampon.
Fig.3 shows a cross section through the occurs or handle. The crampon has the two transverse parts 1 and 2 and the two longitudinal stiffeners 3 and 4, the open ends 5 and 6 of which are walled in. The transverse part 2 serves as a handle and step when climbing. It has an elliptical cross-section according to Fig. 3 and is burr-free and without edges in order to avoid injuries to the hands.
On the longitudinal parts 3 and 4, edge webs 7 and 8 are provided, which are held high enough to prevent the foot on the crampons from slipping off the side and noticeably to step off.
