13.6 g (0.05 mol), - (m-n-butoxyphenoxy) ethyl bromide and 7.3 g (0.1 mol) n-butylamine are heated to 120 for 11/2 hours. After cooling, the reaction mixture is taken up in 100 cm3 of chloroform and the solution is shaken first with 25 cm3 of sodium hydroxide solution and then with water. After drying over anhydrous sodium sulfate and subsequent evaporation in a water-jet vacuum, the chloroform solution leaves N- [13- (m-n-butoxyphenoxy) -ethyl] -n-butylamine as yellow 01.
This is neutralized with a 2N solution of hydrogen chloride in ethyl acetate, the solution is evaporated and the hydrochloride obtained is recrystallized twice from ethanol / ether. Colorless crystals of F. 157-15 of the formula

The i- (m-n-butoxyphenoxy) ethyl bromide used as starting material is z. B. obtained as follows:
83 g (0.5 mol) of m-butoxyphenol, which has been dissolved in 100 cm3 of absolute ethanol, are allowed to flow into a solution of 11.5 g (0.5 mol) of sodium in 250 cm3 of absolute ethanol. 282 g (1.5 mol) of ethylene bromide are added to the mixture, which has cooled to 0. The contents of the flask are refluxed with vigorous stirring until they react neutrally (2-3 hours). After cooling, the sodium bromide formed is filtered off and concentrated in a water jet vacuum.
The residue is taken up in 200 cm3 of chloroform, extracted twice with 50 cm3 of 2N sodium hydroxide solution each time, then washed neutral with water and finally dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate. After the solvent has been evaporated off, the residue is distilled in a water jet vacuum. The resulting ss- (m-n-butoxy-phenoxy) ethyl bromide of the formula

The mixture is heated to the boil and 310 g (1.65 mol) of ethylene bromide are allowed to flow in with vigorous stirring. The contents of the flask are refluxed until they react neutrally (2-3 hours). After cooling to 0, the precipitated sodium bromide is filtered off and the filtrate is concentrated in a water-jet vacuum. The residue is taken up in 200 cm3 of chloroform, extracted twice with 50 cm3 of 2N sodium hydroxide solution each time, then washed neutral with water and finally dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate.
