Gearbox The present invention relates to a gearbox, for example a gearbox for advancing and threading a machine tool, allowing rapid control of the latter and making it easier for the user to choose. feeds or threads without errors, or false maneuvers.
This gearbox comprises a balancing pinion which, under the action of a control device, can be moved axially, and which is carried by a support capable, under the action of this same control device, of oscillating. around the axis of a shaft parallel to a supporting shaft of contiguous gear wheels of progressive diameters, this sliding pinion thus being able to be brought into engagement with one or the other of these wheels.
This gearbox is characterized according to the invention, in that a movement transmission mechanism comprising a dead stroke handle makes, at the end of this dead stroke, the axial displacement of this sliding pinion depending on the oscillation movement of the - Said support, so that after the slight dead travel which corresponds to the disengagement of the balancing pinion, the axial displacement of the latter and the oscillation movement of the support are operated simultaneously.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, a particular embodiment of a control device, object of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a longitudinal section thereof; fig. 2 is a cross section thereof; fig. 3 is a front view of a construction detail of the box; fig. 4 is a transverse exterior view on the side opposite to FIG. 2; fig. 5, is a schematic view of the control of an indicator light; figure a is a detail of fig. 4.
In fig. 1 and 2, we see in a housing 1, in the extension of the lead screw 2, a shaft 3 on which are mounted, integral with, pinions 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 and 14; on each of these pins can be meshed, as required, the sliding pin 15 which slides on a shaft 17, while remaining itself meshed with a pinion 16.
The shaft 17, parallel to the shaft 3, is fitted on flanges 18 with which it constitutes an oscillating axle carrier, of axis xx ', controlled by the lever 20 outside the housing 1. On the shaft 21, which carries the pinion 16, is wedged a toothed wheel 22 which meshes with a toothed wheel 23, concentric with the shaft 3 and integral in rotation with the lead screw 2.
In a boss of the oscillating axle carrier is fixed a finger 25 (fig. 2, 3, 4 and 5), comprising a rotating ring 26 which engages in a groove 27 provided in a pallet 28 pinned to an axis 29 which can journal in a bore of the housing 1. On the pin 29 is fixed a lever 30 provided with a groove 31 in which engages the finger 32 integral with the slide 33 carrying a frame 34, forming an indicator. The slider 33 can be moved along a shaft 35 fixed in the housing 1.
A spring 37 always tends to bring back the pallet 28 and consequently the slide 33 towards the right of the figure (fig. 3 and 5).
Figs. 2, 3, 4 and 5 show the pallet 28 gou plundered on the axis 29, provided with the groove 27 oriented to present a ramp over its entire length, to the ring 26 of the finger 25 which can exert, along the axis Y Y ', a pressure P on its lower face 38.
This pressure P is produced by the operation of the lever 20 which turns the oscillating axle carrier against the torsion spring 40, and presses the bay 26 of the finger 25 on the bottom 38 of the groove 27, which has the effect of creating, towards the left of the figure, a force p, sufficient to overcome the resistance of the return spring 37, and bring the pallet 28 from the extreme right position 55, to the extreme left position 56 (fig. 5). ), or in intermediate positions such as 57 (fig. 3). These intermediate positions as well as the extreme positions are determined by the cells 41, 42, 43, 44, 45, 46, 47, 48, 49 and 50, which open into the groove 27.
In these cells, the ring 26 of the finger 25 can be housed, when the lever 20 being released, the res comes out 40 raises the flanges 18 to bring the sliding pinion 15 towards meshing with one of the pins wedged on the 'shaft 3. In its oscillation from position 55 to position 56, the pallet 28 drives by a fork 51, the sliding pinion 15 along the shaft 17, which will be locked, in a fixed position, whenever the ring 26 of the finger 25 will be engaged in one of the cells, such as 46 for example (FIG. 3).
The ten cells are arranged so that the pinion 15 is placed opposite one of the ten pinions set on the shaft 3 and their depth is provided so that, when the lever 20 is released, the engagement of the pinion 15 with the toothed wheel facing it, controlled by the spring 40, is correct. To each position, determined by the cells, corresponds an orientation of the pallet 28 of the lever 30, of the slide 33 and of the frame 34, which is thus placed in ten different positions which will each correspond to an engagement of the pinion 15 with one of the Toothed wheels set on shaft 3, which will give ten different speeds to lead screw 2.
In these ten positions, the frame 34 frames ten columns of axis 60, 61, 62, 63, 64, 65, 66, 67, 68 and 69 (fig. 5), in which the figures of the steps can be entered. and advancements, and arranged with other devices, not shown, will allow the choice, either of the advance or of the desired thread. A toucheau 39 outside the housing 1, integral with the slide 33, follows the movement of the frame 34.
The operation takes place as follows. The pallet 28 is, for example, returned by the spring 37, at the extreme right, in position 55 (fig. 3 and 5); the ring 26 of the finger 25 is located in the cell 41; the sliding pinion 15 is then meshed with the toothed wheel 14.
If the lever 20 is pulled in the direction of arrow F, the train carrier 18 is rotated, against the action of the strong res out 40, which has the effect of disengaging the sliding pinion 15 of the wheel. 14 and then press the ring 26 on the ramp 38, which creates the force p which, overcoming the antagonistic action of the spring 37, causes the oscillation, to the left, of the pallet 28 which, by the fork 51 , drives the ladder pinion 15, from its position opposite the toothed wheel 14 to position 56, opposite the pinion 4.
At the same time, the pallet 28 controls, by the lever 30, the slide 33 and the frame 34 which is integral with it, from the position on the axis column 69 to the position on the axis column 60; in this extreme position, the ring 26 and its finger 25 are in front of the cell 50. If, under these conditions, the lever 20 is released, the ring 26 and its finger 25 enter this cell, which ensures the engagement of the sliding pinion 15 with pinion 4 and locking the device in this position. To facilitate the introduction of the base 26 and the finger 25 into the recess 50, the frame 34 can be immobilized in the position in question by pressing the button 39. The pallet 28 is thus kept locked in this extreme position. in which the spring 37 is stretched to the maximum.
When said pallet is unlocked, by the action of the lever 20, the spring 37 brings it back to the initial position 55 at the same time as the lever 20 returns to its starting position 58.
From the foregoing, it can be seen that when the ring 26 of the finger 25 is in contact with the ramp 38 under the effect of a traction exerted by the operator on the control lever 20, the mechanism is subjected with two opposing torque systems, one coming from the force exerted by the operator on lever 20, the other from springs 37 and 40.
Depending on the force exerted by the operator, and whatever the position of the finger 25 on the ramp 38, these two antagonistic systems are in equilibrium or else one of the two predominates. In the first case, the whole mechanism remains stationary in whatever position it is in. When a slight imbalance is established, the pallet turns in one direction or the other, to the left (fig. 3 and 5) if it is the first system, produced by the effort of the operator, which is preponderant, to the right if the preponderance belongs to the second system, that of springs 37 and 40.
A continuous movement of the pallet 28, from one of its ends to the other, can thus occur relative to the finger 25, the ring 26 of which remains in contact with it. On the other hand, when a large imbalance suddenly occurs in favor of the second system, that of the springs, for example when the operator suddenly releases the lever 20, the strong spring 40 communicates to the support 18 a much higher acceleration than that which the weaker spring 37 can communicate with the pallet 28.
As a result, the finger 28 abruptly leaves the ramp 38 and jumps into that of the cells located in front of it, before the pallet has been able to turn by an appreciable angle; the sliding pinion is thus re-meshed and the pallet locked by this finger 25 in the position it occupies.
In order to reduce as much as possible the possibility of the pallet rotating during this movement of the finger 25 transversely to the ramp 38, that is to say during the dead travel which exists in the transmission of movement between the support 18 and pallet 28, it is advisable to give the sides of the cells or notches 41 -50 such a length as to be sufficient for them to remain in engagement with the finger 25 until shortly before the latter comes into contact with it. the ramp 38. The bottoms of these cells or notches determine the correct degree of engagement of the toothing of the sliding pinion 15 in those of the wheels 5 to 14.
The pallet 28 can be stopped at any one of the ten possible positions, by stopping the ring 26 and its finger 25 in an intermediate recess, for example, as in FIG. 3 where the ring 26 and its finger 25 have been introduced into the socket 46 which has enabled the sliding pinion 15 to mesh with the pinion 8 wedged on the shaft 3. Under these conditions, the drive of the lead screw 2 will be done, the shaft 3 being a motor, by the pinion 8, the sliding pinion 15, the pinion 16, the toothed wheel 22 and the toothed wheel 23 integral in rotation with said lead screw 2. The same will apply for each of the positions of the ring 26 and of its finger 25 in each of the cells of the pallet 28 which will therefore give ten different speeds of rotation for the lead screw 2.
