Es wird ein Stromkreis geschlossen durch die Lei tung 119, die Magnetspule 57, die Leitung 120, den Kontakt 79 des Relais 78, die Leitung 121, den Kon takt 81 des Umschalters 80, die Leitung 122, den End- schalter 75 und die Leitung 123 und gleichzeitig ein Stromkreis durch die Leitung 122, das Zeitrelais 76 und die Leitung 124 (128), so dass die Magnetspule 57 und das Zeitrelais 76 mit Energie versorgt werden und damit die Evakuiervorrichtung in folgender Weise betätigen: Als erstes wird durch den Stromfluss durch die Ma gnetspule 57 die Spindel 125 des elektromagnetischen Schiebers 56 in die in Fig. 5 gezeigte Stellung gezogen;
Wenn nun die Formhälften geschlossen wurden, geschmolzenes Metall durch die Öfiung 39a in den Giesszylinder eingegossen ist und das geschmolzene Metall eingepresst werden soll, wird der Fussschalter 129 niedergedrückt; dann rückt der Plunger 63 vor wärts, das Innenvolumen des Giesszylinders 39 wird kleiner und der Flüssigkeitsspiegel des geschmolzenen Metalls im Zylinder steigt fortschreitend an;
Method and device for vacuum injection molding The invention relates to a method for vacuum injection molding and a device for carrying out the method.
In the known injection molding process using a conventional injection molding machine, although a gas vent is provided for the molds, the discharge of the gases from the mold cavity during the casting process is not sufficient. Gases remain behind, so that the cast products often have gas bubble holes; In addition, the gases remaining in the mold cavity are compressed when the molten metal is pressed into the mold, increasing the counter pressure and preventing or disrupting the circulation of the molten metal, which leads to a larger number of reject castings in the known injection molding processes .
The invention is intended to avoid the disadvantages mentioned. Its purpose is to provide an improved process for vacuum injection molding, which is mainly applicable to the injection molding of light alloys such as aluminum alloys, copper alloys and magnesium alloys using a so-called cold chamber injection molding machine.
The invention thus relates to a method for vacuum injection molding, in which liquid metal filled into a casting cylinder is injected by means of a casting piston into a mold cavity located between a fixed and a movable mold part and corresponding to the casting to be produced, and is characterized in that that the connection channel between the casting cylinder and the mold cavity is closed by means of a valve that is under a certain closing pressure, that the mold cavity is then evacuated and the liquid metal is filled into the casting cylinder, that the liquid metal is then placed under pressure by means of the casting piston which is higher than the closing pressure of said valve,
so that the valve is opened and the liquid metal enters the evacuated mold cavity and fills it.
The invention also relates to a vacuum injection molding machine for carrying out the method according to the invention.

36 vacuum tank, connected to the vacuum pump 34 and the electromagnetic valve 29 by pipes 38. According to the illustrated embodiment, a casting cylinder 39 is attached to the fixed base plate 1. It passes through the plate 1 and through part of the fixed mold plate 4 and is sealed between these parts by means of a seal 40. A guide sleeve 41 is attached to the movable mold part 7 opposite the ejection end of the casting cylinder 39; Inside the guide sleeve 41 there is a displaceable air valve 42 which can close off the discharge opening of the casting cylinder 39 and the channel for the molten metal leading to the mold cavity. The air valve 42 is attached to a piston rod 44, the piston of the piston rod slides in a cylinder 43.
The guide sleeve 41 is made of a hard metal and provided with cooling water flow holes 45 in order to be able to keep them at an appropriate temperature to avoid wear of the air valve. The head of the air valve 42 is conical and fits into a corresponding conical opening 46 of the fixed molded part, which in turn communicates with the mold cavities A via a channel 47.
The cylinder 43 is fastened by bolts 48 to the movable union molded part 7 (Fig. 3) and connected to the spool 56 operated electromagnetically by tubes 49 and 50, transition pieces 51 and 52 and tubes 53 and 54 at both ends. The slide 56, which is held in its normal position by a spring 58, is actuated by a solenoid 57, the cylinder is connected by a line 59 to the hydraulic pressure source's. The tubes 49 and 50 lead through the molding box 8 and are sealed by suitable seals 55 therein.
The casting cylinder 39 is provided with an opening 39a at its end for pouring molten Me tall into its upper part. The head of a piston 60 slides in the cylinder 39, the piston rod 61 of the piston 60 is connected to a plunger 63. The latter slides back and forth in a hydraulic cylinder 62 by the action of the hydraulic pressure supplied to the cylinder 62 through pipes 64 or 65 under the control of the slide 66; the slide 66 is also operated hydraulically, by means of a slide switch 68. The tubes 71 and 72 connect the cylinder 66 with the slide switch 68, the latter is switched by a magnet 69 and held in its basic position by means of a spring 70. Pipes 67 and 73 lead to the hydraulic pressure source.
In the position of this slide shown in FIG. 1, the slide switch 68 is moved to the right by the spring 70 and connects the pipes 73 and 72, so that hydraulic pressure is applied to the right side of the hydraulic actuating slide 66. In this way, the pressure line 67 is connected to the pipeline 64 and hydraulic pressure is applied to the left side of the cylinder 62. The pressure relief takes place on the right side through the line 65 and a slide channel to the outlet opening.
A limit switch 75 is attached to an arm 74. The arm 74 is attached to a fixed part such as the fixed base plate 1 and is arranged such that the limit switch 75 is operated by a part of the movable counter plate or a lever attached thereto when this counter plate makes reciprocating movements. According to the electrical circuit diagram of FIG. 4, the limit switch 75 and a timing relay 76 are connected in series between the busbars 83 and 84.
Also between the bus bars are connected: a solenoid 33 via a contact 77 of the timing relay 76, a solenoid 57 via a closed contact 79 of a relay 78 and a closed contact 81 of a changeover switch 80 and the limit switch 75 in series; when the contact 82 is closed, the magnetic coil 57 is connected in parallel to the limit switch 75. The relay coil 78 is connected in series with the limit switch 75 when the normally open contact 85 closes. If a limit switch 86 is attached to the fixed base plate 1 by means of an arm 87 (FIG. 1), the relay coil 78 is connected in series with the limit switch 86 between the busbars 83 and 84; in this case the contact 82 and the limit switch 75 are parallel.
The solenoid 33, the timing relay 76, the solenoid 57 and the relay coil 78 are in parallel connection between the power source. The limit switch 86 does not always have to be provided, but is only installed as desired, and has therefore been drawn in broken lines in FIG. It can be placed in a suitable position on the arm 87, in which case a counter arm 88 is attached to the piston rod 61 or 63 in order to actuate the limit switch 86 during the displacement of the piston.
The vacuum injection molding process using a device of the construction described above will be described with reference to FIGS. 1 and 5. 1 and 6 illustrate the state after starting the injection molding machine and advancing the movable counter plate 3 to close the mold. Before starting, the movable counter plate 3 is in the retracted position, the mold is then open.
When the start switch 89 (Fig. 5) is depressed, current flows through the lines 90 and 91, the contact 93 of the relay 92, the line 94, the relay coil 95 and the line 96 via the electrical power sources 83 and 84; the contacts 97 and 98 of the relay 95 are then closed and the line 91 is connected to the line 190 through the contact 97, whereby a holding circuit of the relay 95 is established, which keeps the relay in Stromverflosse NEM state, even if the start switch 89 is opened.
A circuit through the lines 99, the contact 100 of the relay 92, the lines 101 and 102, the solenoid 103 and the line 104 is closed by the closed contact 98, so that current between the current sources 83 and 84 flows; The magnet armature 105 is attracted by the electromagnetic force of the magnet coil 103, which pushes the slide spindle 107 of the slide switch 106 into the position shown in FIG. 5; the fluid pressure from the pressure source builds up through the pipes 108 and 109, so that the spindle 111 of the actuating slide 110 is brought into the position shown in FIG.
The liquid pressure then flows from the pipeline 112 to the pipeline 113 and into the left-hand side of the cylinder 114, whereby the plunger 115 and thus the counter-plate 3 are brought into firm connection with the fixed molded part 4. When the movable counter plate 3 comes into firm contact with the fixed mold 4, the advance of the plate 3 is ended and both mold parts are firmly pressed against each other by a pressure predetermined by the injection molding machine. The limit switches 75 and 116 are set so that their contacts are closed when the movable counter-plate is stopped; the limit switches 75 and 116 are then closed.
The limit switches 117 and 118 of the injection molding machine are arranged in such a way that, in the extremely retracted position of the movable counter-plate 3, the contacts of the limit switch 117 are opened and the contacts of the limit switch 118 are closed; if the movable counter-plate 3 only advances a little, the limit switch 117 is closed and the limit switch 118 is opened. Subsequently, the closure of the limit switch 75 allows the work processes of the parts connected to the vacuum injection molding process to begin.
A circuit is closed by the line 119, the solenoid 57, the line 120, the contact 79 of the relay 78, the line 121, the contact 81 of the switch 80, the line 122, the limit switch 75 and the line 123 and at the same time a circuit through the line 122, the timing relay 76 and the line 124 (128), so that the solenoid 57 and the timing relay 76 are supplied with energy and thus actuate the evacuation device in the following way: First, the current flow through the magnet coil 57, the spindle 125 of the electromagnetic slide 56 is pulled into the position shown in Fig. 5;
then the pressure fluid flows from the pressure line 59 to pipes 53 and 49 and the fluid pressure is given to the left side of the cylinder 43; the plunger 44 is advanced and presses the air valve 42 into the cavity 46 of the fixed mold part 4, so that the connecting section between the opening of the channel 47 and the outlet end B of the casting cylinder 39 is closed with a predetermined pressure.
By actuating the timing relay 76, the sen contacts 77 are closed after a given delay period, so that a circuit through the lines 126 and 127, the solenoid 33 and the line 128 supplies this solenoid 33 with energy. As a result, the armature 32 is raised and, by adjusting the valve rod 31, opens the vacuum valve 29 so that the mold cavities A and the space connected therewith are connected to the vacuum pump 34 and the vacuum tank 36 via the bores 7a. At the same time, when the vacuum valve 29 is opened, the mold cavities A are evacuated by means of the vacuum pump and the vacuum tank until the valve is closed again. The delay of the timing relay 76 is usually set to about 0.5 to 1 second.
This avoids that the vacuum valve opens before the air valve 42 completely closes the flow channel; no air can therefore be drawn from this part into the vacuum tank, which would impair the effectiveness of the evacuation device. The setting of a suitable delay therefore serves to ensure that the vacuum valve 29 is only actuated in a determined manner after the channel opening is closed.
The molten metal scooped from the melting furnace with a ladle is then poured in through the pouring opening 39a of the pouring cylinder 39 and pressed in by the piston 60. This operation takes about 10 seconds, so that a low capacity vacuum pump is sufficient to evacuate the mold cavities A and the associated spaces; a very high vacuum is achieved, as it was never achieved with the previously known vacuum injection molding process who could.
When the molten metal is poured into the casting cylinder 39, it occupies the lower part of the cylinder as shown in FIG. At this moment, the foot switch 129 is depressed to start the casting process. By depressing the foot switch 129, a circuit is closed through the lines 130 and 131, the limit switch 116, the line 132, the relay 133, the line 134, the limit switch > 117 and the line 135. The relay 133 is supplied with current and closes its contacts 136, 137 and 138.
The contact 136 establishes a bypass of the relay 133 through the line 139, so that the relay remains energized even if the foot switch 129 or the limit switch 116 are opened; however, this circuit is interrupted when the limit switch 117 is opened. The contact 137 closes the circuit through the magnet coil 69 via lines 140, 141 and 142, so that the magnet coil 69 is supplied with power and the valve rod 143 of the press-in switching valve 68 is moved to the positions shown in FIGS. 5 and 1 by means of the armature 144 position shown pulls.
As a result, pressure fluid flows from the pressure line 73 to the line 72 and pushes the slide spindle 145 into the position shown in the drawings, whereby again pressure fluid flows from the pressure line 67 to the pressure line 65 and then into the right side of the cylinder 62; this pushes the plunger 63 forward.
The hydraulic plunger 63 pushes the tip 60 of the piston rod 61 into the casting cylinder 39 in the direction of the left (Fig. 1); the molten metal is compressed and the air located in the upper space of the cylinder 39 escapes through the opening 39a until the end 60 completely closes the opening; then still in the cylinder 39 air finds a way through the clearance between the piston rod end 60 and the cylinder wall 39, so that the pressure will give weiterge directly on the molten metal.
When the pressure exceeds the pressure exerted on the air valve 42 by the plunger 44 in the cylinder 43, the air valve 42 is pushed back and opens the channel 47, whereby the molten metal is quickly pressed into the mold cavities A.
At the same time, the contact 138 closes a circuit through the line 146, the timing relay 147 and the line 148, so that the timing relay 147 comes into operation as a result of the current flow. This timing relay is used to open the mold when its contact 149 is closed after a delay dependent on the setting of the timing relay.
When the contact 149 is closed, there is a circuit through the line 150, the relay 92 and the lines 151 and 152 for the current flow, where the relay 92 is actuated and the contacts 93 and 100 open and the contacts 153 close.
So the circuit is closed by the lines 154 and 155, the solenoid 156 and the line 157 and at the same time the circuits of the relay 95 by the lines 99 and 101, the contact 98, the line 102, the solenoid 103 and the line 104 and also through line 96, relay 95, line 91, contact 97 opened; As a result, the solenoid 103 is turned off and the solenoid 156 is supplied with power to move the slide 106 through the spin del 107 to the left; the pressure fluid then flows out of the pipeline 108 through the pipe 157 and moves the slide 110 to the right, so that the pressure fluid flows from the pipe 112 through the pipe 158 to the right side of the plunger 115 and pushes it to the left.
As a result, the movable mold part 3 is withdrawn when the plunger 115 begins to move to the left. The period of time until the start of the retraction movement of the movable mold plate is the delay given by the time relay 147, which depends on the shape and size of the cast products and is generally set between about 5 and 20 seconds. When the movable mold plate 3 begins to move back, the limit switches 75 and 116 are geöff net; the limit switch 116 is arranged for safety reasons; but if the limit switch 75 is opened, the circuit through the lines 123 and 122, the timing relay 76 and the line 124 is opened, so that the actuation of the timing relay 76 is interrupted and its contact 77 is opened.
This interrupts the circuit through the magnetic coil 33, so that the actuating valve 29 for the vacuum part closes. The casting in the cavities A is then already completed, so that it is no longer necessary to evacuate the cavities; for this reason the valve 29 is closed and only the vacuum tank 36 remains in connection with the vacuum pump 34 and is sucked empty in order to be ready for the next casting process.
At the same time, the opening of the limit switch 75 interrupts the circuit through the line 119, the magnetic coil 57, the line 120, the contact 79, the line 121, the switching contacts 80 and 81 and the lines 122 and 123, so that the current flow omitted by the solenoid 57 and thus by the pressure action of the spring 58 of the electromagnetic slide 56 in the opposite direction (to the right, FIG. 5) be moved.
As a result of this adjustment of the electromagnetic slide 56, the pressure fluid line 49 is connected to the outlet line and the pressure fluid line 59 is connected to the pipeline 50, so that the fluid pressure acts on the front of the cylinder 43 and pushes the plunger 44 back; this causes the air valve 42 to move backward.
The return of the air valve 42 is thus effected once by the pressure of the molten metal as a result of a pressing of the injection plunger and the second by the simultaneous discharge of the pressure fluid in the cylinder 43 to the pressure fluid source in the form of a pressure vessel; this ensures that the air valve 42 is not pushed forward again even when the pressure of the molten metal no longer exists.
When the movable counter plate 3 decreases, the molded part 7 connected to the plate 3 and the cast body are also withdrawn. When the movable counter plate 3 reaches the end position, the limit switch 117 is opened and the limit switch 118 is closed. The switch 117 interrupts the circuit through the line 139, the contact 136, the relay 133 and the lines 134 and 135 and switches off the current through the relay coil 133, so that the contacts 138, 136 and 137 of the relay 133 are opened; the solenoid 69 is no longer supplied with power, the injection slide valve 68 is switched by means of the spring 70 and the time relay 47 is switched off and goes back to the original position.
When the injection switch slide 68 switches over, the pressure fluid line 73 is connected to the Rohrlei device 71 and directs pressure fluid to the left side of the actuating slide 66; this is switched over and connects the pressure fluid line 67 with the pipe 64 so that pressure fluid flows to the left side of the cylinder 62 and pushes the plunger 63 together with the piston tip 60 backwards into the starting position.
The limit switch 118, which is used to control the displacements of the plunger 15 in the forward and backward directions, closes the circuit through the lines 191 and 159, the relay 160 and the line 161 at the same time as the start switch 89 is pressed down when the injection molding machine is started so that the relay 160 responds and its contacts 162 and 163 closes. The first contact 162 closes the circuit through the lines 159 and 164 and also the circuit through the line 161, the relay 160 and the lines 159 and 164 for bridging the relay.
The movable counter plate 3 of the injection molding machine then moves forward so that the limit switch 118 is opened and the current flow through the time relay 165 is interrupted.
Since the closure of the limit switch 118 by the movable counter plate 3, the contact 163 closes the relay 160 a circuit through the line 166, the limit switch 118, the lines 167 and 168, the timing relay 165 and the line 169 as well as a circuit through the line 166, the limit switch 118, the lines 167 and 168, the contact 170 of the relay 165, the relay 171 and the line 172, so that the contact 173 of the relay 171 is opened and the contact 174 is closed.
As a result, the circuit through the line 175, the contact 173, the line 176, the solenoid 177 and the line 178 is interrupted by the flow of current, so that the solenoid 177 is no longer supplied with energy At the same time, the circuit through the line 179, the contact 174, the line 180, the magnetic coil 181 and the line 182 is closed and the magnetic coil 181 is supplied with current.
As a result, the electromagnetic slide 18 is switched and the pressure in the hydraulic fluid line 183 is released, but hydraulic fluid flows out of the pipe 59 into the pipe 184 and applies fluid pressure to the left side of the cylinder 17, so that the Plunger 15 is pressed forward and thus advances plate 12 for the ejector pins; as a result, the cast body in the mold cavities is ejected forwards out of the mold by means of the ejector pins.
At the same time, the contact 170 of the time relay 165 is opened after a certain time set for the time relay, and this time is usually between about 1 and 3 sec. During this time, the molded article is removed from the mold. When contact 170 opens, the circuit through line 166, limit switch 118, line 167, contact 163, line 168, con tact 170, relay 171 and line 172 is interrupted, so that the current flow through the relay 171 stops and thus the contact 174 opens and the contact 173 closes, whereby the starting position is restored.
Then the circuit of the magnetic coil 181 for pressing out the castings is interrupted and the circuit is closed by the magnetic coil 177, so that the electromagnetic valve 18 returns to the original position and pressure fluid from the pipe 59. into the pipe 183 </ B > flows; the plunger 15 thus goes back to the starting position. Since plunger 15 and plate 12 are connected to each other, the ejection pins 14 also go back to the initial position.
If the movable counter plate 3 is advanced for the next casting process and comes into contact with the movable mold part 7, the ejector pins reach the fixed mold part 4 and go back to the initial position. Opening the limit switch 118 also interrupts the flow of current through the timing relay 165, so that it assumes the initial position and the next casting process can be carried out accordingly.
A casting process is completed by the processes described above. During the casting process, the air valve 42 slides in the sleeve 41; There is little clearance between these parts, so that molten metal could flow into this clearance when it is pressed in and hinder the movement of the air valve; it is therefore necessary to determine whether the air valve can be conveniently moved to a position in which the movable mold 7 is opened.
In such a case, the changeover switch 80 is actuated and switched from the con tact 81 to the contact 82; current then flows through the magnetic coil 57 even when the limit switch 75 is open, so that the electromagnetic slide 56 is actuated and the air valve 42 can be pushed out by means of the plunger 44. Then when the order switch 80 is operated again and contact with the contact 81 is restored, the solenoid 57 is turned off and thus the air valve 42 is withdrawn; the functionality of the air valve can therefore be checked when the movable mold part is in the open position.
For the operation described above, this changeover switch is preferably arranged in such a way that it is easily accessible to the operator of the injection molding machine.
When the fixed mold part 4 comes into firm contact with the movable mold part 7 during the closing process of the injection molding machine, the air valve 42 is pressed tightly into the opening 46 of the fixed mold part 4; this is done by the plunger 44, which is actuated by the pressure fluid pressed into the cylinder 43. This closes the mold cavities A; the air in the casting cylinder is partially expelled through the opening 39a, specifically through the plunger tip 60, which is displaced by the plunger 63.
The rest of the air is pressed out completely through the clearance between the piston tip 60 and the casting cylinder 39; then the necessary pressure is applied to the molten metal, whereby the air valve 42 is pushed back and the channel 47 opens; then the molten metal quickly flows into the mold cavities A. If the pressure exerted on the plunger 44 is exceptionally high, a very high back pressure is also required.
Accordingly, the pressure applied to the plunger 44 should not be extremely high. The pressure exerted on the plunger 44 creates an initial pressure effect on the molten metal before it is pressed in; this leads to very favorable results during the casting process.
Previous experience has shown that the application of pressure to the molten metal before it is pressed in has a beneficial effect on accelerated casting and obviously leads to better results in the casting process. The pressure exerted on the plunger 44 can be slightly different from time to time for the various casting machines, but such differences are in the range of a few or a few tenths of the casting pressure; if a greater force is required, the inner diameter of the cylinder 43 can be changed. In order to keep the sleeve 41 and the air valve 42 in a smoothly sliding condition, lubricating oil is preferably placed between the sliding surfaces.
This can be achieved by moving the air valve 42 forwards and backwards by switching over the switch 80 with the movable molded part 7 in the retracted position.
The circuit of the limit switch 86 (FIGS. 1 and 5) drawn in broken lines is given by the lines 185 and 186, the line 187 and the relay 78 and through lines 185 and 186, line 188, contact 85 of relay 78 and line 189.
When the mold halves have now been closed, molten metal has been poured through the opening 39a into the casting cylinder and the molten metal is to be pressed in, the foot switch 129 is depressed; then the plunger 63 moves forward, the internal volume of the casting cylinder 39 becomes smaller and the liquid level of the molten metal in the cylinder increases progressively;
when the piston tip 60 closes the opening 39a (FIG. 8) and the molten metal is just filling the interior of the cylinder 39, the finger 88 attached to the plunger 63 comes into contact with the limit switch 86 and closes its contacts. The appropriate positions of limit switch 86 and finger 88 are of course set in advance. By closing the limit switch 86, the aforementioned circuit is closed and the relay 78 is supplied with power. This opens the contact 79 and closes the contact 85, which bridges the relay 78 when the contact 79 switches off the solenoid 57.
As a result, the plunger 44 in the cylinder 43 together with the air valve 42 is withdrawn. At this moment, the molten metal is pressed into the mold cavities through the channel 47 at high speed.
The air in the casting cylinder has previously been pressed out through the piston tip 60 (FIG. 8), so that no more air is mixed with the molten metal. When the casting process is complete and the movable mold half goes back, the limit switch 75 is opened so that the bridging circuit is interrupted by the relay 78 and this returns to its starting position.
