Expanding body vehicle It is generally observed during the use of vehicles, in particular exhibition trucks or warehouse trucks, the insufficiency of the volume of exhibition or display of the goods or the like in relation to the useful volume of transport and, therefore, the inability to present or display said merchandise or the like, resulting in a certain slump.
The present invention proposes to remedy these drawbacks.
Its object is a vehicle with an expansible body which is characterized in that it comprises at least one shell mounted to slide longitudinally on the body of the vehicle, this shell making it possible to obtain, in the pulled position, an additional volume which is substantially equal. to that of the useful volume of the unexpanded vehicle.
In a particular embodiment, the vehicle comprises several sliding hulls which blend into each other in the transport position, the hulls once pulled out significantly increasing the useful volume of the vehicle as many times as is available. of said shells.
In one embodiment of the vehicle, the sliding shell is mounted on rollers and rails; in the fully open position, said shell is supported by crutches and an articulated floor is extended on its lower frame.
The appended drawing shows, by way of example, various embodiments of the vehicle which is the subject of the invention.
Fig. 1 is an elevational view of a first embodiment of the vehicle, shown in the transport position.
Fig. 2 is an elevational view of the vehicle according to FIG. 1 shown in the open position. Fig. 3 is a schematic perspective view of the sliding and locking devices of the sliding shell on the vehicle body.
Figs. 4 and 5 are views in elevation of the running members respectively secured to the shell and the body, of the sliding device according to FIG. 3.
Fig. 6 is a schematic top view of the vehicle frame and of the lower frame of the shell, in the open position of said shell.
Fig. 7 is a schematic side view of the vehicle frame and of the lower frame of the shell, in the open position of said shell, the floor being shown deployed.
Fig. 8 is a perspective view of the support bar of the lower frame of the hull, during installation.
Fig. 9 is a perspective view of the support bar of the lower frame of the shell, in place.
Fig. 10 is an elevational view of a second embodiment of the vehicle, in this case a camping caravan.
Fig. 11 is an elevational view of another camping caravan.
Fig. 12 is an elevational view of a variant constituting an exhibition truck.
In fig. 1, on the body 1 of a truck 2 is placed a locked sliding shell 3, in the closed position shown in this figure, corresponding to the transport position, by any suitable means not shown. The regulatory signaling device 5 is then connected to the corresponding supply device of the truck 2 by all appropriate systems: plugs, connectors, etc., of known type.
Fig. 2 does not differ from FIG. 1 in that the sliding shell 3 is shown in the open position corresponding for example to the position of display, sale, etc. In this position, the hull 3 is supported on the truck 2 by the rollers, not shown, for sliding the hull 3 and, on the other hand, by a caster 10 and two adjustable rear crutches 11 and by crutches 12 mounted on a support bar 13 of the lower hull frame 3.
A useful volume is then obtained corresponding substantially to the sum of the respective useful volumes of the body 1 and of the shell 3, approximately doubling that of the single body 1 of the trucks used to date. The bottom 20 of the body 1 of truck 2 is open and the bottom 21 of the shell 3 is closed or provided with access doors. According to an alternative embodiment, the bottom 21 is open and the bottom 20 of the box 1 is closed or provided with doors.
Still in fig. 2, the top panels. 25 and 26 respectively of the body 1 and of the shell 3 are tilted upwards, forming a roof and the lower panels 27 and 28 respectively of the body 1 and of the shell 3 are tilted downwards, forming a floor, platform or the like, thereby providing a side opening, for example, for displaying furniture, objects, merchandise or the like.
In fig. 3, two profiles in L # ,, 30 integral with the shell 3 slide with the interposition of rollers not shown on two rails 31 integral with the body 1 of the truck 2. By sliding the shell 3 along 32, the said closure is achieved. shell 3 on body 1; six fingers 35 integral with the shell 3 then engage in six corresponding sockets 36 integral with the body 1, engagement facilitated by the conical ends 37 of the fingers 35, allowing the centering and transverse immobilization of the shell 3 on the body 1 and removing the support of the rollers on the profiles 30 and the rails 31.
Screws 40 with manual control lever 41, passing through holes 42 of a frame 43 integral with the body 1 and the truck 2 are then screwed into nuts 44 integral with the shell 3 thus participating in the immobilization of said hull 3 on the truck 2.
In order to open the shell 3, that is to say its sliding along 50, the two screws 40 are completely unscrewed from the nuts 44, the roller 10 sliding vertically in supports 51 which are integral with the rear face of the hull 3 is adjusted and locked in height until it rests rela tively lightly on the ground and hull 3 is then simply pulled according to 50:
the fingers 35 first come out of the sleeves 36 and the shell 3 can then smooth freely by rolling profiles 30 on the rails 31 with the interposition of rollers, the rear part of the shell 3 being supported by the wheel 10. It is well obvious that during the displacement along 50 or 32 of the shell 3, the rear legs 11 sliding vertically in supports 55 integral with the shell 3 are locked in the high position.
According to an alternative embodiment not shown, the rear face of the shell has two lateral retractable castors similar to that 10 of FIGS. 2 and 3, these two rollers also being capable of replacing, in the open position of said shell, the crutches 11.
The sliding of a section 30 on a rail 31 is carried out using two rollers 60 (Fig. 4) integral with the front end of the section 30 and two rollers 61 (Fig. 5) integral with the rear end of the body 1.
In fig. 4, the front end of the section 30 secured, for example, of the arches 65 constituting the shell 3 by means of the supports 66 and 67, supports the two rollers 60, one vertical and the other horizontal, pivoting on their respective axes 68 each mounted between two flanges 69 integral with said section 30.
The rollers 60 respectively come to bear against the faces, vertical 70 and horizontal 71, of the raid 31 integral with the arches 72 of the body 1, the two rollers 60 bearing against the faces 70 of the two rails 31 of the body 1 participating in the lateral centering of the shell 3 on said body 1 and the two rollers 60 resting on the faces 71 of the two rails 31 of the body 1 facilitating the movement of the shell 3 on the body 1.
In fig. 5, a support 75 secured to one, posteriorly, of the hoops 72 constituting the body 1 sup carries the two rollers 61, one vertical and the other horizontal, pivoting on their respective axes 76. The rollers 61 bear respectively against the edge 77 and the internal face 78 of the upper wing 79 of the profile 30, the two rollers 61 bear against the edges 77 of the two profiles 30 of the shell 3 participating in the lateral centering of said shell 3 on the body 1 and the rollers 61 bear against the internal faces 78 of the two sections 30 of the shell 3, facilitating the movement of said shell 3 on the body 1 of the truck 2.
It is obvious that during the sliding of the shell 3, the roller 10 will not allow the front part of the shell 3 to be lifted by tilting around the rollers 61.
In fig. 6 and 7, at the end of sliding along 50 of the shell 3, two fingers 85 integral with the lower frame 86 of said shell 3 are locked, as shown in FIG. 7, in two appropriate locks 87 integral with the chassis of the truck 2, ensuring the perfect alignment of the hull 3 and the body 1 of the truck 2 and also eliminating the risk of the hull 3 falling apart.
The two rear crutches 11 are then placed on the ground and the bar 13 is introduced on one side into a support 91 integral with the frame of the truck 2 and locked on the other side, on the rear cross member 92 of the lower frame 86 of shell 3; the bar 13 supports the crutches 12 for automatic resting on the ground.
The deployment of the floor 95, shown folded in FIG. 6, can then be carried out by unfolding its constituent elements 96 joined together by hinges 97, elements 96 then bearing on the two side uprights 98 of the frame 86 and on the bar 13. The floor 95 in the folded position is housed in a cutout 99 of the body 1 of the truck 2 more particularly apparent in FIG. 7. The expandable arrangement of the truck 2 is therefore carried out in a simple and rapid manner making it possible to obtain a large volume, for example, of exposure, in an extremely short time.
The relatively very rapid installation of the floor support bar 13 95 (see FIG. 8) is carried out first by introducing its end piece 105 into the support 91 secured to the chassis 106 of the truck 2, the bar 13 being oriented so that the crutches 12 cannot fall, for example, by placing their articulation axis 107 substantially vertical. The bar 13 is then tilted according to 108, allowing the crutches 12 to fall until their end caps 109 bear against the ground.
The bar 13 is then engaged, by pivoting along 110, in a jaw 111 of the rear cross member 92 of the shell 3 and finally locked in this jaw 111, using a pin 1 12 as shown in fig. 9. The bar 13 is preferably made from a square section allowing it to be locked in rotation in the jaw 111. The longitudinal immobilization of the bar 13 is obtained by means of a lug 115 , more particularly apparent in fig. 8, resting (fig. 9) against the anterior face of the jaw 111.
In fig. 10, a sliding shell 120, shown in the open position, is adapted to a camping caravan 121 in a manner analogous to that of mounting the shell 3 on the body 1 of the truck 2 of the preceding figures, making it possible to obtain a very large useful volume and, for example, an additional living room corresponding to the volume of said shell 120. The shell 120 may be provided with window 122 for lighting which can come, in the transport position, in coincidence with the windows. tres 123 of the caravan 121.
In fig. 11, two half-shells 130 are slidably mounted on the caravan 121 making it possible to obtain, in the deployed position of said half-shells 130, on each side of the caravan 121, a large useful volume and, for example, two pieces of dwelling or the like corresponding to the volumes of the two said half-shells 130.
In fig. 12, according to a variant, several sliding shells 140, 141 and 142 fitting into each other respectively and on the body 1 of the truck 2 make it possible to obtain a useful volume which is substantially two, three or four times greater as long as that of the body 1 of the truck 2 depending on whether one deploys one, two or three (as shown in fig. 12) hulls. sliding.
According to a particular embodiment not shown, the shell automatically locks at the end of closing using any appropriate devices eliminating the risk of opening said shell during transport, even if, for example, the screws of securing said shell on the body may not have. been put in place.
It is obvious that the sliding shell (s). are made light, for example, in sheets of light metal fixed on a frame of profiles or, in plywood, in plastic, to facilitate their sliding and limit the increase in the dead weight of the vehicle.
It should be noted that the number, shape, dimensions and proportions of the sliding shell (s) and of the various constituent elements, rail, profile, roller, casters, crutches, guides, fingers, bolts, etc., can be very diverse, as well as the arrangements or the sliding means,
for locking and / or immobilizing the shell (s) between themselves and on the vehicle and / or for supporting and / or stiffening the shell (s) in the pulled position.
We can also replace all devices, elements, organs, etc., described above by all. devices, elements, components, etc., analogous, for example, replace the folding floor with a sliding floor and the different parts can be made of any material and / or combinations of materials, undergo any physical treatment,
chemicals, for example for their protection against corrosion and / or be made from any profiles or the like. ,
