Electromagnetic Pulse Counter The invention relates to an electromagnetic pulse counter.
It is advantageous to assemble a counter set up for several decades from individual electromagnetic decade counters. You can get by with very flat decade counters, although priority can be given to a high electromechanical efficiency.
The electromagnetic pulse counter according to the invention is characterized by a drive tongue of the electromagnetic drive, which is curved at one end and comprises a bearing bush at least partially in the shape of a cylinder, and by a yoke which has a part which partially surrounds the bearing bush in the shape of a cylinder, the whole in such a way that the air gap between the yoke and the drive tongue remains practically constant as the tongue moves.
An exemplary embodiment of an electromagnetic pulse counter according to the invention is explained below with reference to a figure.
The electromagnetic drive system is formed by a coil 4 with an iron core 3 and a yoke 2, a base plate 1 serving to fasten the yoke 2.
A drive tongue 5 is circularly curved at one end and partially comprises a bearing bush 8 to which it is connected. The corresponding end of the yoke 2 is also round, so that when the tongue 5 moves against the iron core 3, the air gap between the tongue 5 and the yoke 2 remains almost constant.
The bearing bush 8, which is rotatably mounted on a bearing pin 9, carries, in addition to the tongue 5, a drive armature 7 of the indexing mechanism, by which the indexing movement of a number wheel, which is mounted on a bolt 11, is caused.
The bearing bush 8 is advantageously made of plastic, which ensures low friction with the bearing pin 9.
The armature 7 is provided with two arms which, engaging in the pins of the number wheel, effect the step movement and the locking of the wheel. With the help of a spring 10, which engages a special approach of the armature 7, the armature is returned to the initial position after each step. The spring 10 is designed as a long cylindrical spring and is fastened to a bracket of the base plate 1.
The tongue 5 is also used for the electrical circuit, the actuation of the contact springs, which are arranged on a tab 6 of the base plate 1, being carried out with the aid of this tongue.
The bearing bush 8 is assembled with the tongue 5 and the armature 7 to form a common component which is placed on the bearing pin 9 and can be easily rotated thereon. The axis of rotation is chosen so that both the tongue 5 and the armature 7 guarantee optimal operation. In addition to the spring, the counter is also attached to the tab of the base plate 1.
In addition to its flat and compact design, this new pulse counter has a high degree of electromechanical efficiency.
